Today's Considerations
We'll continue with more of the pointers offered in the book "The Child Ignorance Stage" or "The Child No-Knowing State", today’s post excerpted from “CHAPTER TEN” entitled Personality
Assumption: the Prerequisite for Personality Disorders:
It has been shown how a failure to return to "The Child
Ignorance Stage" or the "Child No-Knowing State" leaves persons
trapped in what can be called "The Adult's Learned Ignorance Stage"
or "The Adult Who Only Thinks He / She Knows State." What do such
"non-Realized," programmed, conditioned, acculturated, domesticated, and
belief-burdened adults think they know?
They think they know who they are, and - if those adults were to complete a thorough self-investigation, or "false-self"-investigation - they could easily make a list of 80 or 90 or 100 roles which they have played throughout the relative existence and which they have accepted as part of the definition of "who they are." (Of course no one "in pieces" can ever be "in peace.")
Trapped in that kind of state of ignorance which inspires persons to believe in their false selves and to have no ability to differentiate between the true and the false, their assumed ego-states trigger the use of egotism and a plethora of other ego-defense mechanisms. The inevitability of misery and suffering, which always accompany the belief in false ideas and concepts and beliefs, has been discussed.

The inevitability of misery and suffering, which always accompany the belief in false ideas and concepts and beliefs, has been discussed.
It has also been seen that if a seeker only reaches the
fourth step of seven on the "path" away from identification with the false
"I" toward abidance as the Absolute (that is, if a seeker only reaches
"The Child Ignorance Stage" or "The Child No-Knowing
State") - thereby completing only about 60% of the seven steps on the
"path" - even that will still be worthwhile, relatively speaking. (Maharaj eventually said, "It would be enough.")
If the return to that no-beliefs and no-personal-identifications condition does not happen - and if all of the false "selves" which "non-Realized" persons take to be "who they are" are not discarded - then another entire set of relative problems will also occur alongside those that manifest as a result of the use of ego-defense mechanisms; specifically, such persons will remain trapped in personal / persona / personality / multiple personalities identifications and will be guaranteed to develop personality disorders.

So, entrapment in personality will guarantee the
manifestation of personality disorders which will, unconsciously, drive
thoughts and words and deeds and will remove any opportunity for persons to make
conscious choices (though they will be convinced that they do have the ability to
choose). To be trapped in personality will also generate fears; will generate
desires which will usually lead to misery because a persona's desires can never
be met fully; and will block persons from understanding that they are not who they think they are.
Again, it was explained by Maharaj that (contrary to some teachings, including his earlier ones) the "Knowing That Which You Truly Are" is not a prerequisite for being free of living under the influence of the hidden agendas of personalities. The prerequisite for that freedom is simply knowing who and what you are not. It has been shown that it is belief in the "not-you's" which generates confusion, misery, suffering, instability, delusion, and chaos.

To return to "The Child Ignorance Stage" or the
"Child No-Knowing State" and to once more be free of beliefs - which
also allows one to be free of believing in false ideas and concepts and beliefs
- is to eliminate the influences of personality disorders which always:
a. prevent the ability to use logic and reason; which
b. inspire nonsensical thoughts and words and actions; which
c. generate fears and desires which, in turn, generate misery and suffering; and which
d. set the stage for untreated personality disorders to develop into neuroses and psychoses and even full-blown madness.
What are some of the most common personality disorders which manifest among those who have not returned to "The Child Ignorance Stage" or the "Child No-Knowing State"?
1. the Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder;
2. the Depressive Personality Disorder;
3. the Histrionic Personality Disorder;
4. the Factitious Personality Disorder;
5. the Narcissistic Personality Disorder;
6. the God Complex Personality Disorder;
7. the Avoidant or Schizoid Avoidant or Schizotypal Personality Disorders;
8. the Passive-Aggressive Personality Disorder;
9. the Paranoid Personality Disorder;
10. the Manic-Depressive Personality Disorder;
11. the Antisocial or Sociopathic and Pathological Personality Disorders;
12. the Dependent Personality Disorder;
13. the Borderline Personality Disorder;
14. the Self-Defeating Personality Disorder;
15. the Masochistic Personality Disorder;
16. the Sadistic Personality Disorder;
17. the Sado-Masochistic Personality Disorder;
18. the Passive-Aggressive Personality Disorder; and
19. the Compliant-Submissive Personality Disorder and many others; thus, the entire list is a very long one.
Why will so few ever "Realize" (which, according to Maharaj, simply means being freed from being driven by ignorance and insanity)? And why will so few ever be free of the relative effects of being driven blindly by ego-defense mechanisms and personality disorders?
A. Because persons must first see that they are being driven by forces that often operate at a subconscious level, but most will never understand that such motivating forces are at play.
B. Because the persons who make up "the non-Realized" masses are unaware that subconscious forces always drive the thoughts and words and deeds of those persons.
C. Because persons would have to see that their thoughts and words and actions are insane, but "the non-Realized" have denial of their actual circumstances down to an art form, denying their disorders and insanity as well as normalizing the abnormal.
D. Because freedom from being driven (blindly) by ego-defense mechanisms and personality disorders requires a willingness to visit with someone that has the wisdom to understand what makes persons feel the way they feel, think the way they think, say the things they say, and do the things they do, even when they have been afforded one missed opportunity after another to see that ego-and-egotism-driven behaviors are harmful (relatively speaking) and to see that personality disorders are generating nonsensical, and even insane, thoughts and words and actions.
E. Persons cannot know what they do not know unless they submit themselves to a guide who can show them what they do not know, but the inclination among "the non-Realized" is to believe that they do know, so no one can tell then anything to the contrary.
F. Ninety-seven percent of all persons on the planet accept unquestioningly the teachings and dogma associated of whichever organized religions they are affiliated with. The persons among that 97% think that they know exactly why everything happens as it happens, and their misunderstanding is always rooted in some "other-world" Power or Powers who are supposedly intervening and controlling events in what they take to be "this world."
If persons
1. accept blindly whatever they were told, and then believe that
2. their blind faith will guarantee them access to Power(s) now and also believe that
3. their faith will guarantee them rewards for eternity and also believe that
4. their faith will guarantee that they will be exempted from the eternal punishment which "non-believers" or "the faithless" are going to be subjected to. . .
then they are likely to cling to what they think they know and to what they think will provide them a payoff rather than seek any new understanding or consider any different possibilities which could free them of the effects of believing in their myth-and-superstition-based and fact-free belief systems.
Such obstacles generally prove insurmountable. So it is, but so it need not be. Yet the force required for a rocket to break free of the gravitational pull of the planet and soar freely through another realm in an unfettered fashion is a minimal force when compared to what is required to free persons of the pull of their early programming and conditioning and domestication and acculturation and brainwashing and indoctrination and then return to the prior, unencumbered state which offered an opportunity to enjoy unconditional happiness . . . NOW.
And the last time that unconditional happiness happened for the non-Realized masses was during the pre-programming, pre-conditioning, pre-domestication, pre-acculturation and pre-indoctrination and pre-brainwashing period referred to as "The Child Ignorance Stage" or "The Child No-Knowing State." Returning to that state is also the only chance that anyone will have to enjoy unconditional happiness again.

To be continued.
