TODAY'S CONSIDERATIONS

To review:

That which is natural is rooted in non-duality; all which involves unnatural thinking and / or supernatural thinking is rooted in duality.

Whether speaking of Maharaj's lesser focus on the Nisarga Yoga in the beginning or discussing his near-total focus on abiding naturally in the end (as opposed to trying to live supernaturally and / or unnaturally), it is granted that all of that is relevant only to the AM-ness, but presently, what happens in the AM-ness impacts every person far more than anything to do with the THAT-ness.

So, to continue with excerpts from the book Why NISARGA YOGA in addition to the Advaita Teachings? as considerations about the nisarga (natural) fashion of abidance are offered:

Not Allowing An "Understanding" or A Partial Grasp of the Nisarga Yoga to Generate More Insanity Rather than Eliminating All Insanity

A while back, a friend was suffering from an infection that required antibiotics. As is always the case, a shift from feeling as if one is "at death's door" to feeling "quite normal" happened within 48 hours of beginning the antibiotic regimen.

Most antibiotics must be used for a specific period of time, often between 6 and 10 days, but if one begins to feel better and therefore does not complete the entire regimen, many docs warn that there is a chance that the infection can re-manifest, that all of the miserable symptoms can return, and that suffering and even death can eventually follow.

Similarly, there are seven steps on the "path" that seekers here are invited to complete initially, and to complete only part of the regimen can result in one being (A) at least as sick as one was before seeking treatment for the Ultimate Sickness, and, sometimes, (B) even worse.

[That said, if one shifts away from the final, supposedly "noble" and "Supreme" personality identifications which are clung to at the third step and then shifts to the fourth step - "The Child Ignorance Stage" or "The Child No-Knowing State" - then that can also be enough to end most distortion and the misery which distortions generate.]

Again, Maharaj warned certain seekers of that possibility (of ending up at least as sick as they were before seeking treatment for the Ultimate Sickness, and, sometimes in even worse shape) because they were erroneously convinced that they were totally enlightened and "standing in the full light of the noonday sun" when they were actually still standing "in the dull light of dawn," misled by what he called their "kindergarten level of spirituality" while thinking that they had Ph.D.'s in Realization.

So to continue with the earlier pointer that "a little un-learning can be a dangerous thing":

as far as the Advaita teachings are concerned, please review the questions below which were offered for consideration yesterday, questions which have been asked in the past when some seekers only grasped a small part of what Advaita has to offer and who seemingly grasped nothing of what Nisarga Yoga has to offer.

"Why should I care ever again about anything relative, now that I have grasped the understanding on THAT?"

and

"Why should any of this matter if I'm THAT and not 'this' anyway?"

and

"Why should I want to live out this relative existence, now that I understand THAT?"

[Only the additional filtration that comes after the long-handled spoon mentioned yesterday has removed the larger chucks of contamination from the jar of water can allow what seem to be sensible questions to be clarified and seen as nonsense.

Based in the teachings alone, those questions might be valid. Use the additional tool of the Nisarga Yoga for filtration and their insanity is made clear. ]

Or, "If I shoot myself, I'd just be releasing a speck of conscious-energy and allowing the air to return to the universal pool of air and the elements to return to the universal pool of elements. So . . . ?"

Or, as two young teens who were practicing "cutting" put it to me years ago: "Life sucks. How cruel are you to try to talk us into being exposed to any more of this crap?"

By the way, both are now, years later, women who - though not exempt from the kind of suffering which the relative can often toss our way - are quite happy much of the time and quite content most of the rest of the time.

Yet such questions as above can be asked when one is exposed to the teachings only via any of the basic teaching methods but without accompanying those teachings with the clarifying Nisarga (natural) Yoga.

Of that yoga, Maharaj disciple Maurice Frydman said:

"The Nisarga Yoga, the ‘natural’ Yoga of Maharaj, is disconcertingly simple: the mind, which is all-becoming, must recognise and penetrate its own being, not as being this or that, here or there, then or now, but just as timeless being.

"The Nisarga Yoga, when persevered in and brought to its fruition, results in one becoming conscious and active in what one always was [active in] unconsciously and passively. There is no difference in kind - only in manner - the difference between a lump of gold and a glorious ornament shaped out of it. Life goes on, but it is spontaneous and free . . . and happy."

For example, if prior to the seeker persevering in and bringing the Nisarga Yoga understanding to its fruition, what if that seeker was not happily engaged in the activities of "The Student"? After the Nisarga understanding has been grasped, then "studenting" can continue, actively, but it will happen from a state of being totally awake, totally conscious, and totally aware as well as being in touch with the beingness;

but that will happen without any erroneous belief about "being this" or "being that" (because such assuming of any persona as an identity will generate fear and desire and the use of ego-defense mechanisms to try to sustain a mirage and make it appear to be real.) From that no-identity, no-persona, no-passivity-driven (but fully conscious and aware) platform, non-attached Witnessing can happen so that "studenting" happily can also happen.

Or if prior to the seeker persevering in and bringing the Nisarga Yoga understanding to its fruition, what if that seeker was not happily engaged in the activities of "The Husband"? After the Nisarga understanding has been grasped, then "husbanding" can continue, actively, but it will happen from a state of being totally awake, totally conscious, and totally aware as well as being in touch with the beingness;

but that will happen without any erroneous belief about "being this" or "being that" (because such assuming of any persona as an identity will generate fear and desire and the use of ego-defense mechanisms to try to sustain a mirage and make it appear to be real.) From that no-identity, no-persona, no-passivity-driven (but fully conscious and aware) platform, non-attached Witnessing can happen so that "husbanding" happily can also happen.

The same applies in cases of "The Wife" vs. "wifing"; "The Employee" vs. "employmenting"; "The Lover" vs. "Loving"; etc.

When the teachings are fully understood, and when the Nisarga Yoga is fully understood, then the remainder of the relative existence is characterized by being conscious rather than unconscious; being aware rather than being unaware; being active when called for rather than being passive; being willing to allow life to go on rather than wanting to escape life; and being spontaneous and free and happy rather than the opposite of each of those;

furthermore, the difference in "relishing the solitude" vs. "seeking to isolate" is understood; the difference in "being in the quiet at times but taking actions required to sustain the consciousness at times" vs. "always being passive and being inactive" is understood; "allowing life to go on" vs. "thinking that life should not go on" is understood; and the difference in "being spontaneous and free and happy" vs. "being rigid and inflexible and imprisoned by the content of the 'mind' and thus being unhappy" is understood.

Additionally, when the Nisarga Yoga is understood, the abidance is marked by natural living, not unnatural living and not supernatural living. Approach a bird sitting on a limb in a tree. At some point, when the bird senses that you are going to continue to move even closer, it will fly away. Has the bird been taught such concepts as "people are dangerous" or "all humans are killers," or "their kind are to be avoided"?

No. What is natural about the manifested consciousness is its unwavering drive to survive . . . to continue. So strong is that desire that persons over the last several thousand years have given away large percentages of their hard-earned money to preachers, teachers, priests, rabbis, imams, ayatollahs and others who claim that they can show their gullible followers the way to have "life eternal" and "eternal continuity of body and mind and personality."

Persons have become so warped as a result of that process of programming and conditioning etc. that they are willing to transition beyond the natural tendency of the consciousness to extend its manifestation and will instead voluntarily end the manifestation in an effort to kill members of other religions in order to, supposedly, assure their own eternal continuity . . . with perks (a.k.a., "reward" vs. "punishment").

That self-destructive behavior marks a shift from what is natural to what is most unnatural and to what is based in the supernatural . . . in religious or spiritual thinking that ends any chance at finishing out the entire manifestation in a totally natural manner.

With an understanding of some of the teachings, but no understanding of the Nisarga Yoga, then persons can - and, most often, will - shift to unnatural and supernatural thinking which drive unnatural and supernatural words which, in turn, drive unnatural and supernaturally-based actions.

Why? Because the now bogus and warped content of the "mind" has resulted in an end to the original type of mind and in the abandonment of its original function of (a) inspiring the automatic, natural drive for the manifestation to be extended while (b) also assisting in the perpetuation of the species.

Now, instead, the "mind" drives self-destructive thoughts and words and deeds. Add to that aberration a little un-learning and suddenly persons are coming up with supposedly-cerebral but actually nonsensical and unnatural questions as shared, including::

"Once realized, why even go on living? What would it matter if I kill myself?"

Or, "If I shoot myself, I'd just be releasing a speck of conscious energy and allowing the air to return to the pool of air and the elements to return to the universal pool of elements?"

Or, as two young teens who were practicing "cutting" put it to Me years ago: "Life sucks. How cruel are you to try to talk us into being exposed to any more of this crap?"

Here, there is no invitation for people to continue to be exposed to "crap"; the invitation here is to see that it matters not if one has been offered the non-duality teachings via the Direct Path Method, the Traditional Method, the Neo-Advaita Method, the Neo-Vedanta Method, the Pseudo Method, or any of the other spin-offs and variations.

Those methods provide only part of the regimen required to treat the Ultimate Sickness effectively and totally, and, nowadays, the consciousness has been so thoroughly blocked that the teachings alone cannot provide the entire cure for the Illness of Humanity.

No matter which of those vessels night be used to administer the Ultimate Medicine, they cannot provide the Ultimate Filtration - the Final and Ultimate Purification - that is required to undo the ill effects of programming and conditioning and domestication and acculturation and unnatural thinking and supernatural thinking.

Moreover, the invitation here is to Realize Fully and abide naturally - rather than unnaturally or supernaturally - and then to enjoy a crap-free existence. Oh yes, the relative existence - like the temporarily manifested consciousness which makes it possible - will be ever-in-motion, dualistically tossing one's way some events that are considered "good" sometimes and other events that are considered "bad" sometimes.

But to realize and to abide naturally is to allow impartial, "True Self" (that is, "Pure Witnessing") to happen rather than to allow emotional intoxication to drive one's behavior in unnatural and insane and destructive ways.

Here, the invitation is to see that programming, conditioning, acculturation and domestication have robbed humans of the ability to know the non-dual, no-identity, no-concept presence; to see they have robbed humans of the ability to live naturally; to see they have robbed persons of the ability to use a mind for self-preservation and replaced that with a fiction-filled "mind" that is bent on self-destruction and destruction of "others";

to see they have robbed humans of an ability to be free of the concepts of "individualization" and "the personal"; to see they have robbed persons of the ability to sense the Oneness and to know Love; to see they have robbed persons of the ability to live spontaneously and freely and happily;

and to see that they now drive persons to behave in unnatural and supernatural ways that do a considerable disservice to the masses in general, relative speaking, driving them in many cases to unnaturally desire to bring a miserable manifestation to an end rather than allowing them to find the means by which the manifestation can continue for a longer period while affording opportunities for being free and, therefore, happy.

To be continued.

Five Free eBooks

Compliments of Andy Gugar, Jr.,
the following eBooks are available without charge for you or for friends:

I.
"GOOD vs. EVIL?" or "IGNORANCE, STUPIDITY, and INSANITY?"

The content of this eBook deals with one of the most common but erroneous beliefs that the non-Realized masses cling to and which they will fight about (and even kill over), namely, that there is a planet-wide duel going on between “the forces of good and evil” in the universe.

Either (1) the ancient view is spot on: that the "ills of the planet" are rooted in evil people, in people not being religious enough or spiritual enough, and are caused solely by bad morality; or, (2) the "ills of the planet" are rooted in ignorance, stupidity and insanity and "being good" or "being moral" does not put an end to ignorance, does not eliminate stupidity, and does not treat insanity in any way.

II.
"THE VISION"

Comments regarding the free eBook entitled “THE VISION”:

“My thanks to you and Andy.” – Andrew “Mac” McMaster

“Thanks so much for the book! And, by the way, it is brilliant and the most effective pointing that you have done. It has served to help clear the remaining blockages.” – Stan Cross

“Greatly appreciate having “THE VISION” added to my Henderson resource library that is situated on the right side of my bed for easy access! Eternally grateful for what was received and what was given.” – Robert Rigby

“‘THE VISION’ is such a well-written, condensed version of the Nisarga Yoga approach to understanding and enjoying Reality that I feel it can serve as a must-read ‘meditation guide’ for all earnest seekers.” – Andy Gugar, Jr.

III.
"Sapolsky, Maharaj, and the Non-Dual Teachings"

Dr. Robert Maurice Sapolsky is an American neuroendocrinologist; a professor of biology, neuroscience, and neurosurgery at Stanford University; a researcher; an author; and a Research Associate at the National Museums of Kenya.

There is much that a non-dualist or Advaitin or Nisargan can relate to by comparing and contrasting what Sapolsky reveals about the way certain troops of baboons live in Africa with the way that humans abide all around the globe.

This 152-page eBook catalogues the common, non-dual message shared by Sapolsky and Maharaj and reveals the ways that Sapolsky’s scientific research supports the non-dual pointers offered by Maharaj.

IV.
Seeking

In “PART ONE” it will be seen that most persons on the planet are not seeking, and most will never seek, but for those who are seeking, most will face several obstacles:

In “PART TWO” of this book, it will be seen why many criticized Maharaj for “changing his message in his later talks.” It will be seen that the changes were not about changing the message per se as much as about changing his methodology as he experimented with one version of the Ultimate Medicine after another in order to try to find an effective means for addressing the Ultimate Sickness.

He tried a religious version of the Medicine, a Spiritual version of the Medicine, and finally settled on a version which addressed to Sickness at its core . . . at the mental and emotional level.

V.
"THE MOST DANGEROUS BELIEF OF ALL"

“Dangerous” is a term that can only apply during the relative existence, but of those who do commit suicide, for example, how many shoot themselves in the foot over and over until they “bleed out”? None. They shoot themselves in the head. Why? In order to try to stop the noise - to try to stop the chatter of a thousand monkeys – to stop the noisy mind which is the area that stores the ideas, notions, concepts, mind-stuff, etc. which drives them into the depths of insanity.

And what are those ideas, notions, concepts, etc. called, collectively? "Their beliefs." The irony? They are not their beliefs at all. They are the beliefs of “others” that were set in place via programming, conditioning, etc. and which persons then think are their own.

And what are those beliefs rooted in, and what reinforces those beliefs and convinces persons that they are sacred and worth fighting over and even sometimes worth dying for? Blind faith.

This 337-page eBook discusses those issues in detail.
