TODAY'S CONSIDERATIONS

ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. [See the offer following this post for details on how you can watch a retreat on video which includes a detailed discussion of all seven of the steps on the path as used by Maharaj]

2. Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "God," the "Son of God," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns. See the end of the post for the full meaning and implications of that.

3. A new video ("Number Ten: Awakening Together Satsang, March 2018") has now been added in the far right column of this page, offering the opportunity to view a recent 2018 satsang session with Floyd being interviewed by Regina and Jacqueline of "The Awakening Together Group."

Why So Few Will Ever Be Freed of Their Distorted and Delusional Thoughts and Beliefs, Part Two

[To review key points from yesterday

The Ultimate Sickness, per Maharaj, likely affects 99.9% of all persons on the planet.

Almost all persons will move through their post-programming, post-conditioning, post-acculturation, post-domestication, post-brainwashing, and post-indoctrination existence in a hypnotic, mesmerized, sleep-walking manner, plagued by the undiagnosed and undetected symptoms of the Sickness which include:

According to Maharaj, "ignorance, stupidity, and insanity"; distorted and delusional thoughts and beliefs and perceptions; lives impacted by the mental and emotional side effects of the Sickness; an inability to distinguish true from false and, therefore, the propensity to believe and spread lies; an addiction to chaos and instability; and a persona-driven blindness which drives all thoughts and words and actions.

Maharaj made clear that there are hundreds of sources of pain, but only one source of misery and suffering, namely, the Ultimate Sickness and its symptoms and effects. Of that, he said: "The teacher's sole concern is with suffering and the ending of suffering."

How many will recognize that they have the Ultimate Sickness and need to find the Ultimate Medicine to treat it? Maharaj gave a guesstimate based in all of the failure he witnessed among seekers over the decades:

originally, he estimated that "only 1 in 100,000 will 'get this'"; later he revised that to "only 1 in 1,000,000 will 'get this'"; later, he revised the estimate again, saying he estimated that "only 1 in 10,000,000 will 'get this'."

If you do the math, that final estimate means that very few on the planet at any given time will be free of the near-universally-manifested Sickness and its symptoms and effects.

Wouldn't it seem that anyone who is miserable and suffering would seek help? Of course. So why will most spend their entire relative existence being miserable and suffering without seeking an effective treatment plan?

Because they think whatever religion, philosophy, ideology, etc. that their parents introduced them to is doing just fine, thank you very much. If you don't believe that, just look at how wonderfully they have turned out as evidence.

Or, because the Sickness induces a mentally and emotionally unconscious state, even as persons are moving about in a supposedly-conscious state physically.

Moreover, in a mentally and emotionally unconscious state, persons are totally unaware of their actual condition.

As mentioned yesterday, that can happen with those who are suffering from LPR but do not have a clue that they have LPR; that can happen with those suffering from high blood pressure without knowing that they have high blood pressure; and that can happen with those suffering from the misery-generating symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness.

Next, there are certain fanatical cultures around the globe - such as Jewish cultures, Judeo-Christian cultures, and Muslim cultures - which have taken on the character Abraham (the sexist, chauvinistic founder of all three of those religions) and have elevated the status of suffering, seeing suffering during this existence as something which is ennobling and dignified and which will set the stage for eternal joy in "the next life."

Certain Anglo-Saxon, Aryan cultures also endorse suffering, demanding that persons "Keep a stiff upper lip" and "Avoid crying" even when experiencing physical pain or mental and emotional misery, advising, "Just grin and bear it!" and "Be a big boy / big girl and stop crying when the doctor gives you a shot."

How could person not lose all motive to seek relief from their pain and misery and suffering when 97% of the population of the planet is planting such thoughts in the minds of its youth and reinforcing such thoughts in the minds of its adults?

In other words, "Suck it up and move on, dammit!" and "Quit being a baby!" In other words, "Deny what you're feeling" and "Ignore it when you're hurting" and "Move on as if everything is fine" and "I'm not going to kiss your bo-bo / boo-boo to make it better because that's not the way that the world works" and "Got a concussion on that last play in the soccer / football / baseball / basketball game? Shake it off and get back in there - the team is counting on you."

Or telling abused women, as Paige Patterson advises, that they should "focus on praying and be submissive to your husband in every way that you can and do not seek divorce."

Patterson is president of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the message he advises Christian ministers to pass on to the abused women in their congregations is: If you are being abused by your husband, you should focus on praying and you should be submissive in every way that you can and you should not seek divorce.

Millions of people are part of the network of Southern Baptist churches, the largest Protestant group in the United States, so millions of women who have gone to their pastors to seek help with . . .

. . . the verbal, physical, mental / psychological, financial, emotional, sexual and cultural abuse to which they are being regularly subjected should just

"Suck it up honey and pray about it and continue to be submissive when you're abused because if you fight back he'll only become more angry and violent and, above all, do not seek divorce."

So many women in so many cultures are like the one I dealt with for years who was told by her father: "I'm not going to waste my money getting you a college education. You're pretty and have a great body so you'll have no trouble finding a man to take care of you."

She accepted those words as her "marching orders" and has walked to the beat of that drummer for nearly fifty years.

The alternate message I gave my daughter: "A man is not a plan. Get an education so you'll have some salable skills and can then stay with a man because you want to, not because you need to or have to." Yet so powerful is the force of programming and attachment to beliefs my message endorsing freedom and independence was always being undermined with a message which endorsed dependence and finding a caretaker.

So some stay in misery and suffering because they think it's noble; some stay because they feel trapped, religiously or economically, and cannot leave their miserable situation; some stay because an authority figure told them to; some stay because they think a free ride is the way to go, no matter what consequences come along with that belief system;

many stay in misery because they are denying their misery and perform some mental acrobatics which allow them to dissociate from their misery; and many more stay in miserable situations because, as with LPR and hypertension, they know not that they are sick and / or know not how to find some form of the Ultimate Medicine which can address the symptoms and side effects of their Sickness.

To be continued.

Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "God," the "Son of God," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns.

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of God in the past was of a weak God, an absentee God, A Santa Claus-type God, a mean, punishing, vindictive God, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring God whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a God that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring God,' any supposed God that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'God' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic god / goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'God' and focus on the 'God as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

and

"Heaven and earth shall fade away."
--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places but are states of mind, nothing more than concepts dreamed up by men."
--Pope John Paul II

"There is no hell." --Pope Francis, the current pope
[in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,
a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record teachings
which are part of the Papal Magisterium]
