[CORONAVIRUS POINTER #2]
On March 18th, the first questions regarding the current global pandemic was offered. While this is not going to become a coronavirus-dominated site, inquiries are being raised by concerned site visitors which deserve a response, so occasionally those will be addressed.
Yesterday, this was asked:
"What would Maharaj say were he witnessing this mess going on? Witness only? Experience nothing?"
Certainly those are two possibilities. Merely witness? Yes, when possible, but action will also be called for at times. Experience nothing by understanding there is no experiencing possible anyway because there is no "experiencer" and there is only the witnessing consciousness? Yes.
The challenge is to filter out that which is not rooted in the pure, universal consciousness but is rooted instead in the blocked and warped consciousness and in the false personality identifications whose agendas drive most persons' thoughts and words and actions and fears.
The actual points offered included the following:
"I suspect he would warn against becoming emotionally-intoxicated, making clear that "the realized" FEEL but do not EMOTE. He would possibly remind all that it is ego-state-based emotions which generate craziness when stressful happenings occur whereas feelings during the temporary manifestation can be very much rooted in the 'reality of the AM-ness' (as opposed to the so-called 'Reality of the THAT-ness') and in sanity as well.
"In sanity as well" means what? To feel all which is involved with what one is presently dealing with is not insane. To not feel, he'd likely say, is to be detached and dissociated and therefore unconscious and unawake and unaware (which are certainly not 'assets' during such times as these).
To continue with the series now:
Maharaj exposed the psychological roots of dualistic thinking (as in, “psychological personality disorders” which drive persons’ thoughts and words and actions). It is, among other factors, psychologically-rooted causes which help generate a sense of different-from-ment (which then morphs into a sense of better-than-ment).
When ego-states are assumed as identities, egotism and other ego-defense mechanisms soon trigger and work to defend and support and expand those false personas / personalities. (One therapist calls those mechanisms "the soldiers that readily go to war and that are willing to fight to the death to preserve always-false personality identifications.")
The assumption of a sense of better-than-ment is always followed by arrogance and judgmentalism as well as the Perfectionistic Personality Disorder, the Narcissistic Personality Disorder, the Sociopath Personality Disorder, the Pathological Personality Disorder, and the "God Complex Personality Disorder."
In his loft, the relative impact of beliefs which are rooted in conditioning, acculturation, etc. (along with the relative impact of the personality disorders and the ego-defense mechanisms which arise after personality identifications are assigned or assumed) were discussed. The same happens here in this electronic loft.
Of all the traits exhibited by the "non-realized," the preference for hierarchies and separation and racist agendas and white supremacy which are rooted in beliefs about being "different from and therefore better than" are among the most widespread.
Years ago when I was visiting with some "non-dualists" in South Africa, a white woman bemoaned the racism which was still so prevalent there and and she said that she and many others long for the type of "Civil Rights Movement" which happened in the U.S. between the mid 50's and late 60's.
I suggested that she might as well abandon any and all beliefs she had about the results of that movement because racism, I informed her, was more pervasive in the U.S. than in South Africa. She was skeptical.
I explained that racism in the U.S. might be slightly less on public display but that it was revealed in homes and bars and private meetings as well as in the practices of many local governments and businesses.
Then came the 2016 presidential race and election, and she sent me an e-mails the day after the election and mentioned that what I had shared years before and was proved to be valid and that any hidden racism in the U.S. had been moved out of the dark and into the full light for all to see.

Examples have been offered in this series of the way that the phenomenon of assuming false identities - and then allowing them to determine thoughts which then determine words which then determine deeds - led one man named Mark to kill his estranged wife and led another 21-year-old white male named Dylann Roof to enter a church and gun down nine black men and women.
The Huffington Post news site on 12 July 2015 offered an interview in which a psychologist also pointed to some of the same mind-rooted sources of duality and arrogance and chaos (which Maharaj had set forth decades earlier and which are pointed to here nowadays) in order to explain what happens when that phenomenon is at play. (The article is even more relevant today because of subsequent political happenings since the summer of 2015.)
A Psychologist's Explanation of Why Racism Persists in the U.S.
The tragic shooting that took place in a black church in Charleston, South Carolina, last month -- and the following spate of burnings of black churches -- have thrust questions of racial injustice back into the center of our national dialogue.
Many Americans have been left wondering what causes racism to persist in our society and what sort of psychological toll such acts of hatred like the Charleston shooting take on members of the black community.
For answers to these and other questions, HuffPost Science spoke to Dr. Priscilla Dass-Brailsford, a psychologist at Georgetown University and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology who specializes in ethnocultural and community violence, about the science of racial injustice. Here's what she had to say.
What types of psychological factors give rise to racist beliefs and behaviors?
Racism has to do with thinking of oneself as being different from other people. Racists see others as being less than, and think of themselves as being superior. Just as you would have attitudes about anything -- about poor people, for example, or immigrants -- you have to think about where those attitudes began and how they developed. Was it environmental? Was it upbringing? Was the person born that way? So, there's the age-old debate about nature versus nurture here.
Can you elaborate on some of the ways that a community or society can foster and perpetuate racism?
If you grow up in an environment where people think white people are superior to people of color, you begin to believe in it. And when your whole system around you is constructed in a way that supports that belief, you will begin to think that you are superior.
South Africa is a classic example: When you look at the country's history, everything was divided, all of the institutions. The church actually supported racism -- the white church there (the Dutch reform church) actually believed that black people were inferior and white people had to rescue and take care of them.
If you grow up in an environment where people think that white people are superior to people of color, you begin to believe in it.
That's how a belief gets constructed -- by the social environment you live in, the schools you attend, your church, your families, your neighbors. All of that.
What can we learn from the example of South Africa, both in terms of how racist attitudes are created and how they can be overcome?
In the South African apartheid, a racially motivated system of government affected the lives of all citizens. Blacks were seen as inferior and whites as superior; there were severe penalties to be paid by anyone who disagreed with this. We all know this through South Africa’s most famous prisoner, Nelson Mandela. Segregation was entrenched in the places people lived, in the schools they attended, the beaches and parks they could visit and so on. White children raised in such an atmosphere cannot help but hold racist attitudes of white superiority and black marginalization.
After apartheid ended, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission helped acknowledge the trauma of apartheid for many black survivors and their families. It is a reconciliation that has not occurred in this country after the trauma of slavery and the Native American genocide.
Studies have shown that many people have subtle, or implicit, racial biases that they're completely unaware of. Are racial biases often unconscious? How do these unconscious biases over time develop into hateful beliefs and actions?
Implicit biases are when you're not aware that you have a race bias. You behave in a discriminatory way without realizing that you have racist values. That occurs a lot in the medical profession, for example -- physicians don't realize that they're treating some patients differently to others based on race and often based on class as well.
Again, you develop attitudes and stereotypes from socialization. Here's a common example: An older woman is walking down the road and she sees a black man approaching. She holds her purse tighter thinking that it's going to be snatched. Research has found that both black and white people often behave in this way because of our socialization. It's because of what the media says about young black men being thieves and robbers and bag-snatchers. We all tend to behave in that way based on the socialization.
Do hate crimes like the Charleston shooting tend to beget more hate crimes?
Sometimes, yes. Now there are more churches that have been burned. When there's a hate crime like this, sometimes it can escalate issues because people retreat into their separate camps. People who are racist become more racist, because something they believe in is threatened.
On the other hand, incidents like this can actually bring about positive change. Removing the Confederate flag is a positive development. I would assume that as more positive outcomes develop, people will need to hold on to their racist values more strongly, and will become even more protective of their belief systems.
You see this in the Muslim world: as the U.S. became stronger about trying to put down al Qaeda, the Muslim world became stronger about fighting to hold onto their values.
What psychological toll does racism take on both its victims?
People get depressed and they get afraid, fearful and anxious. It can come up physically with high blood pressure and heart disease. There are studies being done on how even sleep is affected by racial inequality, because racism keeps victimized people from being able to settle down. They are always hypervigilant because someone or something in the environment is going to threaten them based on their race. They are fearful all the time.
What is the relationship between poverty and racial inequality?
In some ways that are very complex but also in ways that are simple. Poverty and race go hand in hand in the U.S. In a nutshell, as there have always been strong associations between race and privilege, there are also just as strong associations between race and disadvantage, which can spiral downwards into poverty. Systemic discrimination continues to thrive in the U.S.
Examples can be taken from looking at how home loans are given - how race may factor into this process. We all know that owning property is an important step in upward mobility, but for people of color this step is often not easy because of racial discrimination. We also see this in employment: Employers are more likely to hire a white applicant as opposed to a qualified black applicant.
What needs to happen for our society to overcome racism?
We need to have more discussions. Rather than people retreating into their separate camps, there has to be more engagement and people need to talk to each other. In Charleston, you do see black and white people coming together. That's been uplifting to see. There are a lot of white people supporting the black community.
They were in church, they gave eulogies and so on. Those are positive developments. It's not something that would have happened 20 years ago, and it goes to show that we are moving in the right direction as a society, although sometimes when these things happen, we feel like we're moving backwards.
It can be two steps forward and one back. The movement toward a pluralistic society is taking a long time and it's far overdue.
To be continued.

Here,
with those who are still driven to talk about "god," the "Son of god,"
the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation
to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns.
THE EXPLANATION
If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.
Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."
The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").
Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.
"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

--Pope Francis, the current pope
in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,
a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.
[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.
And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?
Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?
The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)
With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.
The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
