CAUSATION and RELATIVE EVENTS AND BEHAVIORS:
“Evil?” or “Ignorance, Stupidity, and Insanity”?
A REVIEW OF THE KEY POINTERS REGARDING THE DUALISTIC BELIEF IN “GOOD” VS. “EVIL”

254. The Ultimate Sickness involves the duality rooted in
(1) assuming multiple personalities (personas, ego-states, roles, false
identities) and then in (2) all of the personality disorders that accompany
those assumed personalities.
255. Abiding under the auspices of personality, people are driven by the
specific fear-agenda and / or desire-agenda of any given persona. The result is
a constant series of patterns and repetitions, none recognized by persons who
are always in one personality trance or another and therefore thinking in a
trance, talking from the trance, and behaving in fashions that are a result of
the trance and a result of one or more of the desire or fear agendas of their
assumed or assigned personas.
256. Liberation refers to the condition of being free from living under the
influence of the hidden, subconscious agendas of personalities.
257. The wisdom of the ancient non-dual message has long allowed realized
teachers to warn persons of the chaos and insanity that accompanies
body-mind-personality identification and personality assumption and to provide
a means by which persons could be freed of the traits of personality and their
accompanying mental illnesses and from all of the other effects of the Ultimate
Sickness.
258. Ego-states, being rooted in duality, are forever making judgments about
who is virtuous and who is not.
259. It is because “others” can become the pawns that insane persons use to
complete the agenda of their assumed personas or the internal chaos generated
by the bizarre beliefs stored in their “minds” that the children in New Town,
Connecticut became the targets of Adam Lanza and why the people in Boston,
Massachusetts became the targets of the Tsarnaev brothers.
260. To suggest that ego-state / personality-driven acts and egotism-inspired
acts and ignorance-and-stupidity-and-insanity-based acts are really acts that
happen because certain people are not virtuous or because they are sinful and
evil is to oversimplify the multiple factors involved in any actual chain of
causation.
261. It is the use of such religious and ideological and spiritual-based
judgments and assessments that prevent the masses from ever understanding what
is actually at play behind any and all acts of violence and fighting and
war.
262. “Evil” is not at the root of the planet's widespread instances of fighting
and divorcing and regional rivalries and shootings and stabbings and bombings
and civil wars and international wars and mass murder and genocide; what is at
the root is a dualistic belief that involves this mentality: “me vs. him or her”
and “me vs. them” and “us vs. them.”
263. Once false identities are adopted, then the battle lines will already have
been drawn; then the battle begins after (1) an assumed ego-state upgrades
itself; and after that ego-state (2) downgrades any other persona or persons
whom it thinks represents a threat to the agenda of that assumed ego-state (or
after an ego-state identifies another - an “other” or “others” - that can be
used to “create” and sustain one or more assumed ego-states or create
another).
264. Lanza needed the children in an elementary school in order to create and
sustain a new identity of “The World's Number One Mass Murderer”; the brothers
in Boston needed bystanders and runners to create and sustain the new persona
of “The Number One Avengers of Wrongs Perpetuated Against Muslims by the U.S.
Government.” See? Ego and egotism: “I'm #1!” and “We're #1!”
265. To assign “evil” as the cause of those deeds ends the search for
understanding the actual elements in the chain of causation. To understand some
of the elements in the chain of causation, one must understand the ways that
persons are driven by the agendas of their assumed ego-states which are then
driven to extreme actions after the ego-defense mechanism of egotism is
triggered.
266. When egotism is triggered, one is always believed to be better than “others”;
what one wants is always more important than what “others” want; and whatever
one's cause or causes are will always be thought to be more important that the
causes of “others.”
267. When an ego-state is assumed and upgraded and then supported by egotism,
persons automatically believe that they and their causes and desires are “good”
and the causes and desires of “others” are “evil.”
268. So, it is not “evil” that downgrades “others” to the point that they are
irrelevant, relatively speaking; it is ego and ego-state assumption and egotism
that does that. When the agendas of one's personalities / personas are believed
to be overwhelmingly significant while the agendas of “others” are
simultaneously seen to be totally irrelevant, then “others” can as readily be
squashed as might happen with a tiny insect that crosses one's path.
269. It is impossible to assume an ego-state (that is, a
role, persona, personality, etc.) as an identity without triggering the use of
ego-defense mechanisms, and the most commonly-used of those mechanisms is
egotism.
270. That, in turn, triggers distortion, delusion and even insanity, for what
could be more insane than for persons to believe that mirages are real, to
believe that they are actually a composite of many mirages, and then to believe
that they - their mirages - are the most wonderful collection of mirages of all
time.
Yet, dualistically, there are some who can become convinced
simultaneously (and, therefore, insanely) that they are the worst mirages of
all, that they are the most shameful mirages of all, and they are the most
guilt-ridden mirages of all time.
271. Yet that is what follows ego-state assumption and the accompanying use of
egotism, so those assuming any roles that they believe define who they are will
be inspired by egotism to upgrade those roles, to upgrade their self-concept,
and to participate in self-aggrandizement, even though the conceived “self” or “selves”
are totally false.
272. Then, those assuming bogus personas as supposedly-actual identities will
believe that they are justified to do whatever is required to create and to
sustain their false self-image(s).
273. Insanity is evidenced by the fact that insane persons cannot differentiate
between true and false. As a result, they cannot differentiate between reality
and myth; between reality and superstition; between fact and fiction;
between roles being played vs. what is happening outside “The
Theater of the Lie”; and between the unity and perceived multiplicities.
274. The insanity of ego, in its extreme, manifests as the Sociopathic
Personality Disorder and / or the Psychopathic Personality Disorder, both of
which support unrestrained arrogance and limitless entitlement, all steeped in
duality and all generating such beliefs as:
“I have the right to decide who is moral and right and virtuous and who is not.”
“I have the right to control people.”
“I have the right to decide which single religion is the right one.”
“I have the right to decide who lives and who dies.”
275. Relatively speaking, there is not a more lethal combination on the planet
than (a) the Sociopathic or Psychopathic Personality Disorder combined with (b)
unchecked arrogance and boundless entitlement.
276. To look at those quotes above and . . .
a. to see that they are examples of the way that the disorders can manifest;
then,
b. to see how widespread those beliefs are throughout the population as a
whole; and then
c. to realize that the Sociopathic and Psychopathic Personality Disorders can
manifest in varying degrees
is to understand how widespread those two personality disorders are, by whatever
degree.
277. And the prerequisite for those (and all) disorders is personality. If
there is no false identity / personality at play, then there can be no
sociopathic or psychopathic behavior, there can be no arrogance, and there can
be no sense of entitlement.
278. If there is no false identity / personality at play, there can be no
bombing of crowds, there can be no slaughter of children, and there can be no
bombing of people in other countries while bragging about the fact that the
people of that nation (that is, a nation of “others”) are going to be “shocked
and awed” by the destruction that your military forces are going to subject
them to.
279. Therefore, Maharaj's wake up call: “After the information given to you by
the mother, that you are a boy or girl, all your further acquisitions are but
hearsay.”
280. It is those persona-based “further acquisitions” that set the stage for
all insane thoughts; moreover; insane thoughts lead to insane words, and it is
from insane words (including the ones that happen when personas “speak”) that
insane deeds evolve. And all of that nonsense and insanity are rooted in false “hearsay.”
281. Thus, the point again: whatever one might take to be “the ills of the
planet and its people,” the ills all fall not under the over-simplified
umbrella of “good vs. evil” but under the umbrella of the Ultimate Sickness.
And those that understand the roots of that Sickness know that “the ills” are not caused by one thing (namely, “evil”) but are caused by all things. The cause of all is . . . all.
282. Following the words “I am” with any word or words
generates what Maharaj called “ignorance” and “stupidity” and “insanity.” Why?
To follow “I am” with any word is to reinforce a false identity, and false
identities (personalities) - in turn - will support not only “ignorance” and “stupidity”
and “insanity” but also every possible personality disorder that exists.
283. The result: assumed personas are upgraded and then generate chaos,
including the personas revealed in such beliefs as: ”I am the Super
Spouse, so I deserve nothing less than a Super Spouse, and I will end a
marriage or break up a family if I have to in order to assure I am not with a
non-Super Spouse and that I am with a Super Spouse” and
284. “I am the Super Christian Who Has Been Told by My Holy Book That My Job Is
to Spread My Beliefs to ‘the Four Corners of the Earth’.”
285. “I am the Super Muslim Who Has Been Told That My Job Is to Assure That
Everyone Follows the Teachings of Islam” and
286. “I am the Super Reformer Who Will Not Leave People Alone But Who Must
Change Everyone Instead” and
287. “I am a Citizen of the Greatest Country on Earth So I Have the Right to
Make the Rest of the World Accept Our Economic System, Our Political System,
Our Main Religion, Our Way of Doing Business, Our Lifestyle, Our Philosophy,
and Our Ideology . . . or Pay One Hell of a Price For Not Doing So” and
288. “I am the Super Avenger Who Has the Right to Kill Those Whose Beliefs Are Not
Aligned with My Beliefs.”
289. See, it's the insanity of ego and egotism, not “evil.”
