SIXTO RODRIGUEZ AND HOW THE UNBLOCKED, BOUNDLESS CONSCIOUSNESS SPEAKS AND IS SOMETIMES HEARD AROUND THE GLOBE BY OTHER SPECKS OF CONSCIOUSNESS, Part 2
One
conversation with the non-dualist in Cape Town who was referenced in yesterday’s
post was not limited to the non-duality messages of Sixto Rodriguez but also
touched on an event in South Africa that made international headlines at the
time: scores of protesting miners were killed at a platinum mine northwest of
Johannesburg.
What is the significance of that event to non-dualists? It provides another
opportunity to reinforce several non-duality pointers including
1. what happens when hierarchies generate categories that are rooted in a
dualistic sense of separation, different-from-ment, and better-than-ment and
hierarchies that are based on race and / or color; economic status; national
origin and / or ancestry; sexual orientation; social class; education;
political affiliation; age; religion (or no religion);
2. what happens when
a. an ego-state’s self-centered desire to accumulate drives thoughts and words
and deeds, especially when combined with
b. the ego-state’s unwarranted fears and defensiveness
and
c. the desire of the one obsessed with the false identity of “The Boss” or “The
Owner” or “The Authority” to control the thoughts and words and actions of
others, along with a refusal to negotiate or communicate or share as a result
of the absence of any sense of Oneness
and
d. the emotional intoxication that can drive persons to be willing to “die for
a cause.”
See the influence of all of the above and it becomes clear that the slaughter
at the mine was the result of dualistic beliefs and practices. Some might say, “That
is only about relative issues,” yet nothing is experienced during the
manifestation that is not relative.
(As for “the Noumenal,” there is no “one” to experience anything, so - for now
- there remain relative issues which are not to be ignored, even by the realized.
There is simply the matter of overlaying Reality upon the relative to allow for
freedom and non-attachment to begin and for misery and suffering to end.)
Regarding what happens when hierarchies (based on race and / or color; economic
status; national origin and / or ancestry; sexual orientation; social class;
education; political affiliation; age; religion or no religion) generate
categories that are rooted in a dualistic sense of separation,
different-from-ment, and better-than-ment:
Here, the take is a bit different from Rodriguez’s point that his story is not
a “rags to riches” story but is a “rags to rags” story. He suggests that the
latter story is the better. Actually, that is just more duality.
Yet the miners’ story is most definitely a “rags to rags story,” and it drove
some
** to engage in suicide-by-cop and / or
** to develop a willingness to “die for the cause.”
(In the current global economy where wealth and assets are being consolidated
and held tightly by fewer and fewer, leaving the masses to deal with new levels
of frustration, there will be . . . .
. . . . disparities (dualities); there
will be hierarchies (dualities) that are marked with more rigidity as a result
of less opportunity for mobility; there will be the insanity of miners with
sticks and machetes charging police with guns;
there will be Occupy Wall Street-type movements around the globe (protesting
the duality of the two identities they see, namely, “The 1%-ers” vs. “The
99%-ers”); and there will be an increase in crime (as a result of the duality
of “The Haves” protecting their accumulations vs. “The Have Nots” wanting a
share of the pie).
Regarding “2a” and “2b,” an ego-state’s self-centered desire to accumulate
drives thoughts and words and deeds, especially when combined with the
ego-state’s unwarranted fears and defensiveness. For some, there will be the
false belief that nothing can be shared because they think that they will never
accumulate what they consider to be “enough.”
For others, there will actually be “not-enough-ness” (that is, not even enough
to meet the basic, level one needs during the manifestation that Maslow
outlined in his pyramid).
[The fact: With platinum selling at the time for over US$1,500.00 per ounce,
there IS enough. But “The Accumulator” will never enjoy an awareness of the
internal sense of “enough-ness.”
In the U.S., billionaire John Schnatter (the former CEO of Papa John’s Pizza who lost his job because of racist remarks) complained about the fact that a governmental requirement under consideration - which would require that he provide healthcare for his workers - protested that requirement.
Regarding the workers whom he did not want to insure - the same workers who made him a billionaire - he whined that insuring those workers “could possibly add 10-14 cents to the cost of a pizza.”
See? A billionaire who stills needs 10-14 cents more per pie. Never enough, workers be damned. Anyone with any degree of empathy and gratitude would have announced to all in the U.S. that he was raising the price of his pizzas by 10 to 14 cents in order to insure the workers in his corporation.
He likely would not have lost one sale as result and his annual sales would likely have improved; but one with a “I never
have enough mentality” would be incapable of such giving.]
When those two dualities of “perceived-not-enough-ness” and “actual-not-enough-ness”
intersect, then of course resentment can lead to anger and anger can lead to
rage and rage can lead to violence and chaos. That pattern is illustrated time
and again in historical events on the planet, in the current circumstances of
millions on the planet, and also in what is called “personal relationships.”
(A) Those accumulating feel threatened (ego-state fear) and (B) those providing
the labor to allow that accumulation to happen and to be consolidated at the
top of the dualistic hierarchy will feel threatened (and angry) as well.
Conflict will result, but understand that all of that conflict is based in
duality as “A’s” interact with “B’s” whom they considered different-from, less
than, worse than, not as good as, and not as deserving as.
The fact is, to suggest that “poor is good or better than” and that “rich is
bad or worse than” - or that “rich is good or better than” and “poor is bad or
worse than” - has always been about duality.
What has been seen here over the last two decades in terms of wealth and realization?
Most of the wealthy do not come here, for they are certain that they have found
it all. Of the wealthy that have come here and realized, something rather
unique has been witnessed:
1. A refusal to give or help disappears;
2. Giving in order “to get-in-return” also disappears; and
3. Giving is replaced by sharing.
It is something that is rather amazing, to witness the spontaneous shift that
happens in those cases.
Yes, whatever happens post-realization will happen, but what happens among the
realized always reflects the understanding of the Oneness. Can one’s holdings
continue without attachment? Yes, and that happens. Can sharing - rather than
motive-based giving - happen? Yes, and it often does.
That said, consider the non-duality revelations that can be seen via the murder
of the miners in South Africa last week, for that happening represents what is
happening dualistically around the globe, though that need not be the case.
The fact is, though, that during those periods when egotism’s “let them eat
cake” mentality has manifested, then fear, resentment, anger, rage, and chaos
have always followed, and all of it is rooted in duality.
Non-duality provides a cure for all that Sickness. Were the message of
non-duality to be understood and internalized, it could eliminate all fear and
resentment and anger and rage and chaos. Wait not for that to happen on a
global basis, for it shall not. The invitation instead is to seek it now for
yourself.
