F.: [Embedded links are for those seekers that want the entire explanation] Yesterday’s post ended with this:

[Tomorrow, a discussion of (1) the real source and (2) that which can know the real source, even as (3) the real source cannot know itself…much less (4) make a plan for “running the universe”and then implement it.]

Why are seekers who visit this site continuously invited to take the seven steps in the order required…to “go back” in “reverse order” and to find that original state and abide as such, even as the manifestation continues?

Why is the invitation to find the real source of this consciousness—of what is called “life?” Because only via the seven-step “journey” will the light be cast upon all deceptions and distortions and thus cause them to be cast aside. Because only via this “journey” can the Full Understanding come that then paves the way for freedom and peace to come...now. And why do it now and not later? Because it cannot be done later. Do it now and be done with duality.

Maharaj said, “It is in the nature of all manifestation that the good and the bad follow each other and in equal measure. The true refuge is only in the unmanifested.” [So any effort to abide as the Am-ness will be marked by “good” and “bad”…by duality.]

Also, understand that he made clear that these teachings have nothing whatsoever to do with “escapism” but instead offer the means by which You can be totally absorbed in reality/Reality. Rather than being about denial, these teachings are about liberation and enlightenment and Realization via understanding.]

Yet the unmanifested can only be understood during the manifestation but before the unmanifestation. Maharaj made clear that in the case of his lighter, the flame was usually dormant and that the lighter does not know the flame. Consider the beingness to be represented by the flame that is often dormant. The difference: You can come to an understanding of the lighter, the fuel, the flame, and the happenings associated with that combination.

The flame eats fuel and absorbs the air, but the flame is neither the lighter nor the fuel. [The consciousness is neither the body nor the plant food.] The flame manifests; it unmanifests. As the flame requires fuel to be sustained, so the body requires fuel/plant food to be sustained and so the consciousness requires some space by which it can remain manifest. Remove the fuel [the food] or destroy the lighter [the body] and the flame [the consciousness] cannot remain manifest.

So see this: the lighter is a group of elements forming a space that comes together first; fuel is then placed inside the space of the lighter (as is the case with food placed inside the space called “the body”); then, with the combination of fuel and form, all is readied for the flame to manifest.

When the fuel runs out (or when food can no longer be consumed) the flame shall manifest no more. Eventually, the lighter shall decay and return to the universal pool of elements, the flame will no longer absorb air, and the flame that had once manifested will not appear and can be considered to be unmanifested.

In the book Consciousness / Awareness the point is made that if seekers would understand the difference in consciousness and awareness, they might consider the difference in sticky glue vs. stickiness, in foregrounds vs. backgrounds, or in sugar vs. sweetness.

Or consider now the candle and the flame that is usually dormant and the fuel required to sustain the flame. Most humans can understand that candles usually have a wick surrounded by wax and that a particular act can set the wick aflame.

Few have ever searched for any deeper understanding of what is actually involved, most not concerned enough to investigate, to come to understand. Few would know the particulars such as the fact that a candle wick works by “capillary action”—the process by which the fuel (the melting wax in this case) is drawn to the flame.

Few would understand that the drawing of that fuel to the flame was originally called “wicking,” thus providing the name “wick” that most are familiar with. Few would understand that when the melted wax reaches the flame that the wax takes on the form of vapor and burns.

But most could observe that once the wick has been set aflame, everything the candle seemingly “does” after that is spontaneous. Yet the candle is really doing nothing. The candle is not a do-er. Whatever is happening is just happening spontaneously. [See the comparison with what happens once a sperm cell reaches an egg? See the comparison with what happens post-Realization?]

Only a few, though, will understand that there is really no doingness since there is no do-er involved. The candle is not choosing to burn or not burn, and the wax is not choosing to vaporize or not.

The process of capillary action is not happening because some do-er is choosing to drawn the wax to the flame. The entire process is happening spontaneously, without any involvement or doership or chooser or controller. And such is the case with what is called "this universe."

And the same happens post-conception of an egg. No “mother-to-be” is deciding which day to “create” a brain, which day to "create" appendages, etc. None of that happens. In reality, nothing is being “created.”

The elements existed, and as long as the mother adds fuel [plant food] to the lighter [the body] then what happens with the flame [consciousness] merely happens. No do-er. No creation. No creator. No Creator. No one "makes babies." Nothing is born. No one “gets” consciousness. There is no beginning. There is no end.

To combine wax and a wick is not “creating”; elements that already exist cannot be "created"; the “wick elements” and the “wax elements” have always been; in the case of the candle, those elements are simply coming together by whatever means. So certain elements came together and once those elements came together, all else that followed was totally spontaneous…automatic.

Do you see that the same happens in the process that persons call "conceiving" and “baby-making” and “creation”? Do you see how nonsensical it is when persons trapped in their ideology talk about “When life begins”? And is it clear that once consciousness manifests, all that happens does so spontaneously...automatically? Please enter the silence of contemplation. (To be continued)
