F.: Who are the “fools” that Krishna spoke of? Fools are those persons who were fooled in the past and who continue to be fools in the present because they have no motivation whatsoever to question the foolishness that...
(A) has circulated throughout history and that
(B) still continues to circulate throughout their cultures, circulated especially by persons in the media, by those speaking for organized religion, by those parroting the talk put forth in so-called “spiritual groups,” and by any and all who are attached to ideology.
Among all of those fools, the ideologues are the persons who focus most on some of the topics which generate the most pontification, divisiveness, fighting, and even killing, including debates over such questions as:
“When does life begin?”
“When does life end?”
“What all is involved in conception and birth, including God's part?”
“How did creation happens and who exactly is the Creator?"
“Why do people not appreciate the sanctity of life?”
Only if a seeker completes the seven-step “journey” to Full Realization, returns to the original state, and from that platform sees Truth...only after all of that can foolishness be understood to be foolishness. Only from that unblocked perspective—by way of that unobstructed viewpoint—can the ideological concepts above be seen to have no foundation in reality at all.
Via Maharaj’s lighter analogy, can You understand why such debates are just so much nonsense—just so much foolishness?
Is it clear that the coming together of the elements of which the lighter was composed did not constitute “the birth” of a lighter?
When a lighter decays and when the involved elements have returned to the universal pool of elements, is it clear that the lighter did not “die”?
When the lighter decays and when the involved elements return to the universal pool of elements, is it clear that that particular lighter will never, ever exist again, even though the elements shall be forever?
Is it seen that the same consciousness, manifested via an acorn, can automatically (over a period of decades) drive the happenings that result in the manifestation of an entire forest? Do you see how the same happened automatically and spontaneously and resulted in the manifestation of entire races of people?
Now, a human can investigate the process called “creation” and find that there is neither creation nor destruction...that neither energy nor matter can be created or destroyed. Also, a human can investigate a candle and find how the process of its burning all unfolds automatically after certain elements are brought together.
But what will never be possible is for the flame to investigate itself and find its source. When its source of fuel runs out, the flame will happen no more via that lighter. Or the flame can be snuffed out prior to all of the fuel being burnt. But the flame cannot know its source.
Now a bird can appear to be aware of its self-ness, but it is really just consciousness being conscious of self and being automatically driven to try to extend that self-ness. That is why a bird will fly away from an approaching human, for example. In the case of the bird, the consciousness manifested via that space is aware of its beingness, but it cannot understand the source of that beingness. [And since it is not a fool, it need not understand that source.]
Understand that, as with humans, there is no bird that "has consciousness" and there is no bird that "gained consciousness." Consciousness simply Is, and simply knows its presence. Among persons, however, the consciousness is blocked from knowing itself and thus persons are fooled into assuming all sorts of false identities as a result of that blockage.
Because of such blockage (which results from programming and acculturation) most persons will spend the entire manifestation being ignorant of the real source. Being ignorant of the real source, they will therefore believe the foolishness that has been dreamed up about all of the various supernatural sources (including creator gods, sustainer gods, and gods of destruction).
[In the case of the one being worshiped by most persons now, the god of Abraham, that one is the result of Abraham simply rolling into one all of the former gods that were thought to have created things and people, that were thought to have sustained persons, and that were thought to destroy persons who displeased them. Thus the schizo nature of that god with multiple personalities who supposedly "creates and loves unconditionally" but also "destroys and punishes" as a result of conditions.]
Because of such widespread belief in all that foolishness, most persons will never know the real source and will therefore attach to false beliefs and tales and myths about "The Source"…about some fictional, dreamed up, personal Creator. Only the Realized that finish “The Circle,” that take the steps required for the unblocked consciousness to “go back” as it “came,” and that see Reality and the real source, will have any opportunity to understand.
To that end, reconsider the reference to “…the real source and that which can know the real source, even as the source knows not itself” in these terms:
the real source = awareness
that which can know the real source = the unblocked consciousness
the source that knows not itself = the awareness that is not aware of
