WHY THE NON-REALIZED THINK, TALK, EMOTE, AND BEHAVE AS THEY DO, Part Seven

Here, there is nothing that is believed, so there is no one here who wants you to believe anything, either. Here, the invitation is to be free of all that you have been programmed, conditioned, acculturated, and domesticated to believe so that you can be free, period.

F.: (Continued from yesterday) Those who write to complain that "Love is the answer to all of the problems on the planet" also take much offense at the suggestion that "acceptance" and "tolerance" are not concepts that are touted here.

One wrote to report that that I am "wrong about only a few being realized at any given time," that more people than ever before are "awakening to their purpose," and that the result is that there is already "a new earth coming about."

So someone believes what a big name claims and then repeats it (without so much as a footnote) but a Maharaj-type response to such would have been, "So you know what a big name teacher says he knows, but what do you know?

"There is no evidence that you have even the slightest clue of what you know, within, and as long as you continue to accept the word of 'authorities' who are without, you will never touch the truth that can be known but that cannot be stated."

He would also point out that "acceptance" and "tolerance" are concepts and are to be discarded, not sought out. He put it quite clearly, in fact, without any equivocation at all: "Acceptance or non-acceptance are superficial."

There is no naturally-abiding form on the planet that "practices" acceptance or non-acceptance. The deer do not move away from noisy humans because they have judged humans and found them to be disgusting creatures that are to be loathed. The deer just naturally move to the quiet...to the silence.

So do fish and birds and all other naturally-abiding spaces. For Louise to report that she no longer argues with those who are deeply-attached to their ego-states and who are driven by the desire or fear agendas of one or more ego-states,

and for her to report that she merely moves away to the silence when such personas try to whip up some noisy chaos in her presence, has nothing to do with judging or with concluding that some individual is "not acceptable."

First, she understands there is no individuated person to judge, and secondly she also understands why those assuming a personal identity think and talk and behave as they do;

however, that does not interrupt at all the natural tendency among naturally-abiding spaces (i.e., deer, fish, birds and the Realized) to move away from the noisy and chaotic. Yet there is no "one" that is making judgments about some things being acceptable and some things being not-acceptable.

The deer moves spontaneously away from a snake without any belief about snakes being either acceptable or not-acceptable. There is no belief among deer about venomous snakes being either tolerable or not-tolerable;

yet the fact is that remaining in the presence of poisonous snakes is simply and automatically and spontaneously "not acceptable" without any individual having to think about that fact, talk about the fact, or try to reconcile that fact with other theories or beliefs about conceptual love, conceptual acceptance, or conceptual tolerance.

Spontaneous, natural living during the relative existence merely moves the naturally-abiding away, automatically, from the noisy, the chaotic, and the dangerous (physically or otherwise). Among the Realized, there is merely a spontaneous, no-mind, no-thought-involved movement away from the false, the arrogant, and the inauthentic; furthermore, all of that happens among the Realized without having to theorize about "reconciliation" (which is just another dualistic concept itself).

If learning rather than unlearning were within the domain of these teachings, and if trying to distinguish between the acceptable and the non-acceptable were a part of these teachings, and if knowing the difference in the tolerable and the not-tolerable were a part of these teachings, Maharaj would have offered a list of each. He did not.

In I AM THAT, he did not discuss tolerance at all. As for acceptance, he noted that misery is that "which you have created for yourself through blind acceptance without investigation."

Therefore, he taught that acceptance (of the blind variety) does not alleviate misery...it generates misery.

When he said that accepting "the present moment" will be followed by "harmony with things as they happen," that pointer did not suggest at all that a deer, seeing a poisonous snake approaching quickly, should "accept" the snake's presence and to just "be in harmony with the snake."

Nisarga living assures that what is natural will happen during the relative, and it is natural in some cases to "move away from." Yet the non-Realized will not function in that natural manner. (In fact, in order to sustain certain personas and "lifestyles," the non-Realized will stay with persons who abuse them physically and mentally and emotionally, which is quite unnatural.)

Maharaj explained the distortion associated with the "acceptable-not acceptable" duality, saying: "Whatever may be the situation, if it is 'acceptable,' it is [believed to be] pleasant. If it is 'not acceptable,' it is [believed to be] painful." Such is the delusion that comes with an attachment to the acceptable-not acceptable duality (and with all other dualistic concepts as well].

In the transcripts of Maharaj's later satsang sessions, there was not a single mention of tolerance or acceptance either. The naturally-abiding deer and birds and fish and Realized cannot, and need not, make "personalized, dualistic judgments" about what is acceptable or not, about what is tolerable or not.

When the nisarga fashion is the manner in which abidance happens spontaneously, there is a natural movement toward the sane, the quiet and the peaceful. If persons conclude that the Realized are "making judgments" and not "practicing love," so it is.
