An Advaita forum focusing on Realisation, enlightenment, non-duality, Real Love, peace, freedom, Your original nature, abiding naturally, the Oneness, the Nothingness, and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.

Here, there is nothing that is believed, so there is no one here who wants you to believe anything, either. Here, the invitation is to be free of all that you have been programmed, conditioned, acculturated, and domesticated to believe so that you can be free, period.

Furthermore, for those who have developed a preference for any non-nisargan yoga or who prefer Traditional Advaita Vedanta, Neo-Advaita, Neo-Vedanta, or Pseudo Advaita: here you will only find the use of the Direct Path Method of teaching along with the Nisarga (Natural) Yoga, all shared in simple, everyday English.

F.: In light of yesterday's considerations, please review the map for the "journey" from identification with the false "I" or "I's" to the Full Realization:

Then consider the question again: "So what's the harm if people take the detour or the harm in not returning to the 'path' for years?"

What is the harm? Again, in terms of the Absolute, there is no such thing as "harm." In terms of the relative, see that taking the detour leads people to places they deem "holy" or "spiritual." See, also, that when persons are told that they are in a place that is "holy" or "spiritual," they will also be told that the persons they meet there are "holy" or "spiritual."

Furthermore, because they will almost always believe that they have been made "different" by having been to a "holy" or "spiritual" place, they will also believe that they are better for having been there. Soon, they will believe that they are so different from others that they are actually better than "others" who have not been there, claiming that "Everyone could benefit from what is offered here" and that "everyone needs what we have found here."

As a result of such erroneous beliefs, both egotism and a dualistic sense of being "separate from" will be fostered. In many cases, the newly-exposed (i.e., the newly-indoctrinated) will accept the invitation to keep coming back to that place or to stay there - at the dead end - where they will fall under the influence of persons who believe they have been made "holy" or "spiritual" (or, even worse, "godly") as a result of time spent in that so-called "holy" or "spiritual" place.

Under the influence of persons who have assumed such false identities, who are well-versed in playing their "holy" roles or "spiritual" roles, and who are skilled at developing and maintaining and projecting their "holy" or "spiritual" image, then those newcomers who subsequently stay at the supposedly "holy" or "spiritual" place (where the detour actually dead ends) will also assume "holy" or "spiritual" personas as identities. It is via that process that the Ultimate Sickness is spread (and is now so widespread).

The result of all of that? The former seekers who are convinced by such means to stop their seeking will believe that they has reached the final destination on the "path"; then, that belief will result in the end of seeking, in the end of any chance of truly "finding," and in the beginning of practices that will do nothing more than serve as reinforcement of their assumed holy or spiritual ego-states.

Because ego-states always upgrade themselves even as they often downgrade "others," then "The Religious Ones" will soon take themselves to be "The Super Religious Ones" and "The Spiritual Ones" will soon take themselves to be "Spiritual Giants," feeling frustratingly surrounded by spiritual pygmies such as "maharaj," or "floyd," or ... maybe, even "you."

Earlier, this pointer was offered:

To understand if a system can "work" to free one completely, one must know what "freedom" means.

All but a small fraction of the planet's population are imprisoned as a result of the dead end process discussed above, not having even made it into half of the light while believing that they are being bathed fully with "total enlightenment." The bars of their prison are made of dogma and kindergarten-level spiritual teachings and ideas and beliefs and concepts and attitudes and attachments and ego-states and egotism and delusion.

As a result of the delusion, persons are sitting in prison - or racing about wildly within their prison - while believing that they are free. More on that tomorrow. Please enter the silence of contemplation. (To be continued)
