TODAY’S CONSIDERATIONS
Why do some things which are under pressure finally explode? For something to rip or break or explode or implode or “self-destruct,” often there are three conditions which must be in place: (1st) there needs to be some weakness in the material; (2nd) there can be a greater or lesser chance of an explosion, depending on what the object is filled with or contains; and (3rd) things can break because enough energy is added to the material to rip apart the bonds between molecules or to make a small defect become larger. For example:
When a balloon which is filled with air is held over a flame, the balloon begins to melt. This means there is now a weak point in the balloon. Air inside a balloon causes considerable pressurization, and the flame causes a part of the balloon to melt and the weakness worsens; that, in turn, will eventually cause the balloon to explode. The exception?
If the balloon is filled with water, the water absorbs the heat, preventing the balloon exposed to a flame from melting; that is, because there is no weak point, the balloon does not explode. Moreover, if one holds a non-pressurized balloon over a flame, it will undergo a change but it also will not explode.
The message for those interested in non-duality? Consider the similarities between a mind and a balloon.
The human mind is like a balloon: if it has been filled with things
(beliefs) which can generate pressure, then it has been weakened. A child in the “No-Knowing Stage” has not had a mind formed because the child has not yet been pumped full of the kind of things – concepts, ideas, notions, etc. (a.k.a., “beliefs”) - which as an adult will exert considerable pressure. Uncomfortable relative conditions – wetness, hunger, too much heat, too much cold – can cause reactions, but they will not cause the child to explode or to try to destroy its home or itself.
At some point, a weakened spot on the mind that is experiencing pressure can result in an explosion or even destructive behaviors and / or self-destructive behaviors.
Compare the not-yet-programmed-and-conditioned mind to the empty balloon in the example above and see that a mind which has not yet been filled with anything will not be under such pressure that it can reach a point where it will explode or self-destruct.
If, as an adult, the mind is emptied via the realization process, as Maharaj recommended, then events in the relative existence may have certain impacts, but they will not result in an explosion and destruction.
The emptied adult mind returns to the non-destructive condition which existed during the Child-No-Knowing State when the mind was also not just empty but did not yet exist at all.
But what if the adult does not empty its mind? What will cause the mindful adult to try to destroy its home or itself?
The pressures which come when programmed, conditioned, domesticated, acculturated, indoctrinated, and brainwashed lead to persons being driven by the hidden, subconscious agendas of each and every personality which has been assigned or assumed and each and every warped and distorted and erroneous belief, all of which are nevertheless deemed to be true (and often even thought to be sacred).
An empty balloon cannot explode, and a human with an empty mind cannot explode, be that human the age of a child or be that human the age of an adult.
More significantly, what if a balloon under pressure and exposed to a flame has previously been filled with hydrogen, not unlike the case with the Hindenburg airship?
Then, not only will the balloon explode, but the explosion can be of catastrophic proportions. (Imagine the impact on the U.S. if 318 million Hindenburgs had all exploded in populated areas at the same time.)
The comparison? The“hydrogen” which is filling minds all around the globe is what Maharaj identified as “ignorance, stupidity and insanity," and the more minds there are which have been filled with those three very dangerous and explosive elements, the greater the chance for catastrophic explosions and destructive behavior and self-destructive behavior there will be.
Because “ignorance, stupidity and insanity” generate near-unimaginable levels of pressure inside the minds of the masses, the greater is the chance for catastrophic explosions and destructive behavior and self-destructive behaviors to happen.
People from the Far East and Western Europe are writing to ask, “What the hell is going on in the U.S. with the Republican Party leaders and Trump?” The reply is that nothing significant is going on with the party leaders or with Trump because those ignorance-and-stupidity-and insanity-filled minds add up to a far smaller number than the U.S. population at large. What is going on which is exerting a far greater impact relatively speaking is the manifestation of widespread “ignorance, stupidity and insanity” among nearly 50% of the people living in the U.S.
All along for many years, there have been the Christian Reconstructionists who have infiltrated the local, state and federal governments and who want to destroy the U.S., who advocate defaulting on all debts to other nations all around the globe, and who want to then rebuild a new, theocracy-based government from scratch that will use the Jewish Old Testament teachings as the basis for “the New Constitution of a New America.”
Before, that mindset was held by a few million. Now, the percentage of those with that view has expanded and is approaching 50%. Why?
Because the “ignorance, stupidity and insanity” have combined to produce enough mental pressure that the flames of fear and anger are causing weak spots to manifest in the minds which are over-pressurized as a result of being over-filled with “ignorance, stupidity and insanity”; thus, more than half of the persons in the U.S. are ready to explode, to be destructive, and to be self-destructive.
The solution to that problem?
For many, the non-dual process could lead to an elimination of that which the minds are filled with and that which is exerting such pressure, but the odds of any more than a few seekers ever following that "path” are negligible.
So the answer is that the masses will not change. They will cling to their ignorance-and-insanity-based beliefs. They will fight over their reasoning fallacies. They will kill or die or do both because of their beliefs.
That will not change. Only a particular seeker at a time can take the steps which can bring about the freedom which all persons need but which few will ever seek.
The curse of humanity might appear to be the fear and anger, but those only come with ego-states, with ego-states and personal / Personal identities which are planted in minds via faulty programming, conditioning, etc. In fact, the curse is actually the mind itself which is where all pressure-inducing nonsense is stored.
When cancerous polyps were found inside the plant food body here, the doctors’ plan was not to nourish the polyps, was not to try to change the polyps, and was not to try to replace the bad polyps with good polyps. The plan was to purge all of the polyps, to get rid of them completely.
The same applies to the cancerous content of the human mind: there is no “improving” the ignorant and insane thoughts inside the minds of the masses. There is but the call to get rid of them completely.
Had the polyps not been removed, there could have been a continuation of the existence of this composite unity and a continuation of the undesirable symptoms which the polyps within were causing, but eventually, there would have been a breaking point when they would have brought a complete end to the composite unity.
The wise understand that the same can happen on larger scales – not just involving a single human but involving entire cities and states and nations. Vast empires have risen and fallen because the levels of ignorance and insanity reached a point among the masses in those empires where their continuation became impossible. Ignorance and insanity are not restricted to manifesting in and impacting small spaces. They can manifest and impact the relative existence on a global basis.
Again, Maharaj: “Insanity is universal. Sanity is rare. Yet there is hope, because the moment we perceive our insanity, we are on the way to sanity.”
So what about you? Have you ever undertaken a comprehensive and objective and scrupulous cataloguing of the content of your mind (which is not really “your mind” but is a duplication of “their minds”), then perceived the insanity rooted therein, and then come to realize the pressures which are being exerted upon your existence by that content?
