The point in this series is that the non-dual message has long been widespread but has seldom been understood either then or now.
At the request of some visitors, further discussion or explanation of some of the Maharaj pointers shared recently is being provided.
A DEEPER LOOK AT SOME OF THE POINTERS OFFERED BY SRI NISARGADATTA MAHARAJ

14. “Whatever you have tried to understand during your spiritual search will prove false”
and
15. "Only that person will visit this place whose virtue and sin have come to an end."
There is talk among non-dualists of “a journey” or “the journey” as well as “the path” to follow to complete “the journey.”
Now, there are probably fifty times more descriptions of “paths” and “journeys” than there were descriptions in the story of the five blind men in India who each touched a different part of an elephant and were then sure they had “the big picture” and understood perfectly what an elephant looked like.
So it is with the 97% on the planet who claim a religious affiliation and who remain attached to the dogma of whatever religion their family introduced them to and which they now follow blindly and unquestioningly and faithfully.
So, too, it is with the millions more who proudly proclaim: “I am not religious! I am spiritual.”
Maharaj said that "realization" is simply the condition of being free from functioning under the influence of learned ignorance. He said: "Realization is but the opposite of ignorance."
Thus one of the valedictory closings or farewells to letters or emails which I’ve used over the past thirty years is . . .
"PULLS" - an acronym standing for “Peace, Unity, Love, Light, and Sanity.”
Post-realization, “peace” becomes a routine, everyday condition, but it will sometimes be challenged and is not always guaranteed.
(Only those suffering from insanity or such disorders as the Dissociative Personality Disorder can be so detached from the realities of all of the relative existence that they detach from reality and retreat into a “It’s all good!” mindset. Those insane types even come up with such advice as love your rape and love your rapist. Invite him over and prepare a meal for him. Love the Nazis if they tossed your child into an oven. It's all good, so just accept it all.
In addition to a person's identity fragmenting into two or more distinct personality states when suffering from the Dissociative Personality Disorder, there is also dissociation which is a related mental process of disconnecting from one's feelings and from “reality” – that is, dissociating from "negative" relative events and from their consequences.)
The non-realized emote, but the realized feel, even post-manifestation. For the realized, there is no moving into Foo Foo Land and no moving into a “mentally-contrived Land of Milk and Honey Thought Life.”
Thus, during the times when the relative existence tosses certain “relative realities” one’s way - happenings which only the insane would claim are “all good” - the realized (who are not dissociated and who do feel) may temporarily lose the “P” part of the PULLS acronym.
At that point, the “S” part kicks in, allowed for objective witnessing to happen, does not trigger the emotional intoxication which drives the non-realized, does not result in the taking of insane actions in reaction, and will then allow the realized to be calm and at some point to return to enjoying the peace.
Those types who have lost all contact with the realities of the relative existence are also often totally detached from "the Great Noumenal Reality" they speak of (as opposed to “the reality of the relative AM-ness”).
They believe they are, and are abiding as, “That Great Reality,” certain – in their distorted minds – that they are now “The Super Religious Ones” or “The Spiritual Giants” as well as some kind of “Supreme Self” or "Superior Self" or "Infinite Self."
As for the realized, they are as firmly established in the I-AM-ness as they are in the THAT-ness while merely being - being totally free of any belief in either self-ness or SELF-ness. They understand identity-ness-ness, and that applies during the relative as well as during the non-relative.
In the end, Maharaj suggested that seekers reach a state of “zero concepts” and “zero identities" as well as "zero Identities.”
Think you have found some "special identities" now and "A Super Special Identity" as well; to those he said, “Whatever you have tried to understand during your spiritual search will prove false.”
For most, no “spiritual search” will happen and no “journey” will be undertaken. Why? Because 97% have been programmed and conditioned by their dogma to believe that they already have the answers.
As for those types who (a) have been isolated for decades in whatever venues they were placed in during childhood by relatives or who (b) have isolated themselves in some “spiritual program or venue,” some few of them might finally ask, “Is this all there is?” If they reach that point, they might begin one version or another of “a journey.”
Yet with the plethora of “paths” and “journeys” being touted out there, how many are likely to end up on an effective “path” or engaged in a proven “journey” to realization . . . to freedom from all beliefs and all learned ignorance? Per Maharaj, almost none.
Most seekers will not grasp that “Whatever you have tried to understand during your spiritual search will prove false” and they will not reach a point where their both “virtue and their sin have come to an end."
Instead, their “journey” will take them along a laborious “path” where they will engage in all sorts of “spiritual workaholism” as they move through The Land of a Thousand Eurekas where will be certain time and again at various points along the way that they have finally reached an understanding and have finally grasped The Functioning of the Totality, only to have their joyous “I’ve-got-its!” turn into miserable “Dammit-I-don’t-have-its.”
At that point, they often blame themselves or they allow others to blame them for their failure, not realizing that all concepts – all beliefs – are false.
They do not understand that there is nothing more that should be understood, that there is nothing to find, there is nothing more to learn, there is nothing more to be taught. There is only . . . that which should be un-learned; that which should be un-taught.
No one who has been programmed, conditioned, domesticated, acculturated, brainwashed, and indoctrinated needs even more programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, brainwashing and indoctrination.
Those persons need not learn more; they need but realize and cast aside all of the learned ignorance which they have been taught and accumulated and stored in their nonsense-filled minds.
Freedom is merely freedom from the mind . . . freedom from being driven by the content of the mind . . . freedom from belief in any and all dualities including the dualities of “virtue” and “sin” and the spiritual workaholism which – in the end – will be seen by the wise alone . . .
that it was all false,
that all of those “eurekas!” were misunderstandings and misperceptions,
and that all of the “good roles” which were assumed in an effort to replace their past “bad roles” are all equally false.

THE EXPLANATION
If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.
Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of God in the past was of a weak God, an absentee God, A Santa Claus-type God, a mean, punishing, vindictive God, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring God whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."
The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a God that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").
Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring God,' any supposed God that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'God' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.
"That is, a non-narcissistic god / goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'God' and focus on the 'God as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

and
"Heaven and hell are not geographic places
but are states of mind, nothing more than
concepts dreamed up by men."

"There is no hell."

in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,
a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.
[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.
And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?
Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?
The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)
With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.
The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
