The point in this series is that the non-dual message has long been widespread but has seldom been understood either then or now.
At the request of some visitors, further discussion or explanation of some of the Maharaj pointers shared recently is being provided.
A DEEPER LOOK AT SOME OF THE POINTERS OFFERED BY SRI NISARGADATTA MAHARAJ
20. "Both experience and experiencer will disappear."
The closest that one can come to clarifying what “THAT” is is to explain that “THAT” is – generally speaking - “energy / matter” (which is neither “special” nor “Special” in any way and which involves neither self-ness nor SELF-ness).
Next, the truth can be known but cannot be stated, so to state “I AM THAT” is merely to point towards to what was, is, and shall be, specifically, the energy / matter which was not created and which has therefore always been, an understanding which ends any and all belief in a “creator” or “Creator.”
Furthermore, I AM is nothing more than a statement of present but temporary beingness. It is always to be used alone rather than used as the beginning of a sentence which is followed by a noun or an adjective.
“I am” is a valid statement.
“I am a Christian / Non-dualist / Jew / Muslim / Buddhist / Employee / Spouse" ad infinitum is a lie and a self-deception and a cultural-deception and an ancestral-deception.
To use a term from the Advaitin Shakespeare, the readiness is all.
To determine if a state of readiness to truly grasp this understanding exists or not, a "test question" has long been used with the seekers that have come this way:
“Is it possible that everything that you have ever been told or taught or now believe is . . . false?”
Consider the belief held by most parents that they "created" a baby. The fact is that no parent has ever created a baby. Parents engaged in an act of friction which set into motion a chain of events which only involved the recycling of elements that already were, are and shall be as opposed to making any “new elements.”
If one wants to argue that this composite unity called “Floyd” played a part in triggering a series of events which involved the recycling of things which already existed and which led to another composite unity having manifested, okay; however, if the notion of “father” is that I “created another person,” that’s hogwash.
Jean Dunn explained Maharaj’s basic message regarding the reality of what happens post-manifestation:
“Most of us identify ourself with the body-mind and so he insisted that we find out what this body-mind is. Did it not come from the sperm of the father and the ovum of the mother? The body then is a product of the food consumed and is sustained by food, which is the essence of the five elements. Can we be this? Without consciousness the body is dead material. When consciousness leaves the body there is no individual, no world, and no God.”
Maharaj made clear that “there is no ‘you’ that has consciousness.” Consciousness is merely a type of energy which can manifest temporarily within a space but which will not remain there because it is constantly cycling. It is that which allows conscious-of-ness to happen . . . that which allows witnessing to happen.
If not free of learned ignorance, then witnessing with happens in a dualistic, subject-object manner, as in “I (subject) see you (object)."
If free of learned ignorance, than it can happen in a Pure Witnessing fashion, free of false beliefs regarding “others,” “different from,” “better than,” etc.
But all of that is happening in the relative existence where the masses hold the false belief that there is a literal, physical experiencer who is experiencing things.
The assumed “I” is nothing more than a composite unity, a space formed by elements having come together temporarily and being forever in flux with conscious-energy coming into the space and leaving the space, with elements coming together and coming apart, and with air coming into the space and exiting the space.
Maharaj asked, “If you are moving about in a car, does that mean you are a car?”
Of course not.
So, if the “you” is moving about in a plant food body, does that mean that you are a body?
Also, of course not.
Thus there is no experiencer. There is either accurate or inaccurate witnessing happening. Similarly, post-manifestation, the same applies regarding “an experiencer.”
In a composite unity, in “a body,” thermal energy helps us to maintain a constant body temperature, mechanical energy helps us to move, electrical energy sends nerve impulses and fires signals to and from our brains, and conscious-energy allows conscious-of-ness to happen.
All of those forms of energy are cycling into and out of a body and have to be replaced if body functions are to continue happening. If the same quantity of conscious-energy which was in the body a week ago or a month ago or years ago were still there, then there would have been no need to eat food during those periods. It is the consumption of plant food - or the consumption of something that ate plants - which allows for a transfer of new, replacement quantities of conscious-energy.
Eventually, what is guaranteed to happen with the three parts of a composite unity? The elements will return to the universal pool of elements; the air will return to the universal pool of air; and the conscious-energy will return to the universal pool of conscious-energy.
And that is exactly what was happening all along. The elements came together and came part, the skin being replaced every month, the intestinal lining being replaced every few days, etc.
Similarly, the conscious-energy came and went regularly, and the air did the same.
That being the case, “WHO” is experiencing anything as opposed to the consciousness merely witnessing all, either accurately or not?
And if there is no “WHO” experiencing anything now, then “WHO” could remain after the manifestation of the conscious-energy ends and therefore experience anything? No "one."
Such is the case because self-ness and SELF-ness are both nothing more than erroneous concepts.
If all "WHO's" (i.e., identities, false selves, roles, etc.) are seen to be imaginary / false now, then any perceived "WHO" or "Self" (i.e., Super Identity or "Special Self" or "Infinite Self or "Supreme Self") later should also be seen to be imaginary / false.
Maharaj invited all to reach a state of zero concepts, zero beliefs, and zero identities / Identities.
It has long been witnessed that when persons replace former "bad" or "not so good" identities with new and "improved" and "really good" or really "special identities" or really "Special Identities," the latter state has always proved to be far a more obnoxious state than the former.
And that was certainly the case with "floyd" / Floyd as well.
Here, supposedly "bad roles" were played and there was chaos; later, supposedly "good roles" were assumed and really Special Roles were played and those present for that game-playing were more disgusted than when the "bad" roles were controlling behavior.
Eventually, there was a transitioning beyond "both sin and virtue" - as Maharaj discussed; with that shift, a belief in "bad identities" ended; a belief in "good identities and Good Identities ended; and only then did all of the game-playing end, allowing for a most simple existence now and no concern at all about "later."

THE EXPLANATION
If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.
Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of God in the past was of a weak God, an absentee God, A Santa Claus-type God, a mean, punishing, vindictive God, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring God whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."
The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a God that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").
Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring God,' any supposed God that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'God' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.
"That is, a non-narcissistic god / goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'God' and focus on the 'God as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places
but are states of mind, nothing more than
concepts dreamed up by men."

in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,
a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.
[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.
And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?
Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?
The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)
With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.
The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
