THE DARK TRIAD

Upon the occasion of Maharaj's having taken mahasamadhi, there was much reviewing of his contribution to the understanding of non-duality, of the Oneness. I did the same a little more than two years ago when Mahammad Ali also took mahasamadhi.

Some pointers then are relevant to the current discussion on this site, so let's revisit what was observed back then:

Mahammad Ali

January 17, 1942 – June 3, 2016

The book of quotes offered here

includes a collection of non-dual pointers from hundreds and hundreds of persons not generally understood to have shared the non-dual message. Certainly, there is no concurrence with everything they ever said or did, but their non-dual pointers remain relevant for seekers. So the case was and is with Ali as well. Yet his non-dual pointers are worth sharing for seekers to read.

In 1964, when a man named "Cassius Clay, Jr." changed his name to "Mahammad Ali" to honor his conversion to Islam and to protest the war in Vietnam and his induction into the military (which he would refuse to honor) as well as the way blacks were being treated in the U.S., many whites attacked him and his words.

Just as a kneeling Colin Kaepernick was bounced out of the NFL in 2017 and lost his job and income for protesting - not the national anthem or the U.S. flag - but racial injustice and the killing of unarmed blacks by the police, Ali had also lost his job and income when he was bounced out of professional boxing after he refused in 1966 to serve in the armed forces and kill Vietnamese people.

Ali's heavyweight boxing championship title was stripped and he was denied a boxing license in every state and his passport was taken away as well. Little of what inspired the power brokers in the U.S. then and inspires the power brokers in the U.S. today has changed; nor have there been many changes in the half century in the way that the U.S. society treats those who protest racial injustice and the murder of unarmed blacks by the police.

[Some believe that cities should just spend more money retraining police officers and giving them more "sensitivity training" to solve the problem. Let's see what the Dark Triad can show us in that regard since so many in the military - and so many on the police forces where many of military retirees end up - are displaying sociopathic and psychopathic behavior.

Take as an example the behavior of Matthew Luckhurst, a former police officer with the San Antonio Police Department who has once more been in the news recently.

Luckhurst is one of the few police officers to have been fired for inappropriate behavior while in uniform. In 2016, he was relieved of duty when he placed feces between two pieces of bread and gave it to a homeless man who ate it. Yet, as is often the case, he won his appeal for that firing last year and would have been treated like most offending police officers and would have been immediately reinstated except for the fact that he is also having to appeal another indefinite suspension dating back to November 2017 when he and a fellow officer trashed a restroom for female police officers, left feces in the toilet, and smeared a brown substance on the seat.

So even as his problems around feeding a shit sandwich to a homeless man had not been totally resolved, he decides to harass female police officers as well because they had complained to their superiors about male officers using their restroom and always leaving behind a disgusting mess.

To understand the Sociopathic Personality Disorder and the Psychopathic Disorder is to understand why Luckhurst behaves as he does.

To understand the Sociopathic Personality Disorder and the Psychopathic Disorder is also to understand the behavior of Chicago Police officer Jason Van Dyke. When other officers had surrounded 17-year-old knife-carrying Laquan McDonald and were preparing to arrest him, Dyke drove up, pulled his car into the midst of the action, stopped, stepped out and - as McDonald was walking away from him - he shot him sixteen times. Most of the shots happened after the young man lay dead on the ground. The killing happened in October 2014 but gained no notoriety until a video of the killing was released in 2015.

To understand the Sociopathic Personality Disorder and the Psychopathic Disorder is to understand why Spc. Aaron David Robinson killed Vanessa Guillen (who was buried here in Houston last week). He murdered the fellow soldier who had filed a sexual harassment claim. He attacked her while she was in the Fort Hood armory here in Texas and then contacted his married girlfriend to help him bury the body. At first they tried to set her on fire, but when the body would not burn, they hacked her to pieces with a machete and buried the parts off base.

The inordinately high murder and death rate involving two particular careers is nothing new. It is an age-old issue with many in the military and many on police forces. For example, the U.S. military also taught Tim McVeigh to kill efficiently, and he did so in 1995 when that Army veteran killed 168 people and injured more than 680 in an Oklahoma City bombing.

Recently, a total of four homicides at Fort Hood have been under investigation.  Some might recall a U.S. Army psychiatrist who killed thirteen people and injured 32 more, also at Fort Hood. Some might also recall a veteran at Fort Hood who more recently killed three people and injured 16 others before killing himself.

Recently, there have also been seven suicides by soldiers from that base.

Now many might take offense at these facts being presented, but if it were pointed out that bank tellers and bank officers were killing themselves and others at such high rates and displaying sociopathic and psychopathic behaviors at such a high rate, most would not be offended and would agree that something needs to change around those two professions:

The public: "Hell's bells! They're nuts! We gotta do something!"

An objective witness: "Agreed. What do you suggest that we should we do?"

The public: "Make banks spend more money retraining tellers and banks officers. Also, give them more sensitivity training."

The wise: "Neither retraining nor sensitivity training can have any effect at all on those being driven by the Sociopathic Personality Disorders and Psychopathic Personality Disorders. An entirely new system must be put in place if this society is to avoid hiring those with Sociopathic Personality Disorders and Psychopathic Personality Disorders and then giving them the right to bear arms and to use their arms to 'legally kill'."

See why there is a call for greater understanding of the Sociopathic Personality Disorders and Psychopathic Personality Disorders and what can - and cannot be done - about those types? Yet in the U.S., nearly half of the population is considering re-electing one of those types as president. Interesting, huh?

Meanwhile, those in charge of supervising the military and the police and representing the members of police unions will continue in most cases to avoid bringing charges again offending officers and holding them accountable.]

Back to Ali. Here, an immediate kinship existed with the man who was only five years older than I and who was also raised in the South. He crossed paths with some who shared the non-dual understanding with him. I had a grandmother who shared non-dual messages with me from early on.

I had a dad, her son, who at times modeled an understanding of the oneness and the empathy which it brings, so I was taught early on - while living in the segregated South in the U.S. where prejudice ruled - to treat blacks the same as anyone else. That was modeled by dad's deeds, not just his words. I spent years in college protesting - as did Ali - the war in Vietnam. I was physically attacked twice for the effort.

Ali would be attacked for years for taking a stand, both verbally and economically. I was friends with the only two black students on the campus and had my car tires slashed for the effort. I introduced one of those men - running back Joe Profit - to Deborah, the woman he would later marry after earning an NFL contract upon graduation. As with Ali, the results of dualistic beliefs were not just theory. They were experienced, first hand.

I could relate to Ali's willingness to rebel against those in our cold-blooded culture with its warrior mentality. I could relate to his challenging the preference of the authorities and the masses here for war over peace. It was not difficult for me to relate to the plight of the poor and non-whites and non-Christians in a mostly-white and mostly-Christian U.S.A. Yet I witnessed a real duality in the perception of many whites regarding Ali. Tributes were paid then, but criticisms came far more often.

Tributes Now

The mayor of his hometown called Ali “a selfless giant.”

Another said: “Selflessness and bravery — those are the two things he epitomized.”

It was noted that “he raised hundreds of millions for those suffering from Parkinson’s Disease and that he gave millions more to all sorts of charities.”

Criticisms Now as well as Then

This was reported: “Ali was known as an inspiring, controversial and polarizing figure.” The irony? When not engaging in his “talk trash to psyche ‘em out before a boxing match” routine, he shared non-dual pointers.

[The additional irony? Non-dual, no-polar pointers always appear to be “polarizing” to the sleepwalking and sleep talking masses.]

He was criticized as "a big mouth, always talking smack."

His reply: “A rooster crows only when it sees the light. Put him in the dark and he'll never crow. I have seen the light and I'm crowing.”

He was criticized for not loving the country that made him rich and famous.

Wonder why? When he returned from the 1960 Olympics after winning a gold medal for the U.S. and after being given a hero’s welcome, he was barred later that very day from eating in a restaurant in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky because he was black.

He was criticized as a black activist who needed to "shut his damn mouth and start appreciating what America has done for him."

His response: “I don't have to be what you want me to be”

and

“Hating people because of their color is wrong. And it doesn't matter which color does the hating. It's just plain wrong.”

He was criticized as being ungrateful and unpatriotic for protesting the war in Vietnam and for refusing to answer the military draft and for refusing to report for war duty and for refusing to go to Vietnam and kill people there simply because the U.S. Government had declared them "the enemy" and simply because the U.S. Government had told him to do so.

His statement: “My conscience won't let me go shoot my brother, or some darker people, or some poor hungry people in the mud for big powerful America. And shoot them for what? They never called me 'nigger,' they never lynched me, they didn't put no dogs on me, they didn't rob me of my nationality, rape and kill my mother and father. Shoot them for what? How can I shoot them poor people? Just take me to jail”

and

“No Vietnamese ever called me ‘nigger’.”

“Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go 10,000 miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on brown people in Vietnam while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights? No I’m not going 10,000 miles from home to help murder and burn another poor nation simply to continue the domination of white slave masters of the darker people the world over. I have been warned that to take such a stand would cost me millions of dollars. If I thought the war was going to bring freedom and equality to twenty-two million of my people, they wouldn’t have to draft me . . . I’d join tomorrow.”

“Wars of nations are fought to change maps, but wars of poverty are fought to map change.”

“I wish people would love everybody else the way they love me. It would be a better world.”

He was criticized for disagreeing with the economic policies of President Ronald Reagan and those on the far right who followed Reagan and literally worshiped him.

He was criticized for becoming a Muslim:

His reply: “The Nation of Islam's main focus is teaching . . . self-awareness.”

Other non-dual messages

“The best way to make your ‘dreams’ come true is to wake up.”

“Best friends often become strangers when egos begin to replace selflessness and love.”

“Others may know pleasure, but pleasure is not happiness. It has no more importance than a shadow following a man.”

“The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.”

“The greatest victory in life is to rise above the material things that we once valued most.”

“Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams — they all have different names, but they all contain water.”

“Stop being selfish – become selfless instead.”

To be continued.

Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "god," the "Son of god," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns.

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and

"Heaven and earth shall fade away."

--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places

but are states of mind, nothing more than

concepts dreamed up by men."

--Pope John Paul II

"There is no hell."

--Pope Francis, the current pope

in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record

teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]

Five Free eBooks

Compliments of Andy Gugar, Jr.,
the following eBooks are available without charge for you or for friends:

I.
"GOOD vs. EVIL?" or "IGNORANCE, STUPIDITY, and INSANITY?"

The content of this eBook deals with one of the most common but erroneous beliefs that the non-Realized masses cling to and which they will fight about (and even kill over), namely, that there is a planet-wide duel going on between “the forces of good and evil” in the universe.

Either (1) the ancient view is spot on: that the "ills of the planet" are rooted in evil people, in people not being religious enough or spiritual enough, and are caused solely by bad morality; or, (2) the "ills of the planet" are rooted in ignorance, stupidity and insanity and "being good" or "being moral" does not put an end to ignorance, does not eliminate stupidity, and does not treat insanity in any way.

II.
"THE VISION"

Comments regarding the free eBook entitled “THE VISION”:

“My thanks to you and Andy.” – Andrew “Mac” McMaster

“Thanks so much for the book! And, by the way, it is brilliant and the most effective pointing that you have done. It has served to help clear the remaining blockages.” – Stan Cross

“Greatly appreciate having “THE VISION” added to my Henderson resource library that is situated on the right side of my bed for easy access! Eternally grateful for what was received and what was given.” – Robert Rigby

“‘THE VISION’ is such a well-written, condensed version of the Nisarga Yoga approach to understanding and enjoying Reality that I feel it can serve as a must-read ‘meditation guide’ for all earnest seekers.” – Andy Gugar, Jr.

III.
"Sapolsky, Maharaj, and the Non-Dual Teachings"

Dr. Robert Maurice Sapolsky is an American neuroendocrinologist; a professor of biology, neuroscience, and neurosurgery at Stanford University; a researcher; an author; and a Research Associate at the National Museums of Kenya.

There is much that a non-dualist or Advaitin or Nisargan can relate to by comparing and contrasting what Sapolsky reveals about the way certain troops of baboons live in Africa with the way that humans abide all around the globe.

This 152-page eBook catalogues the common, non-dual message shared by Sapolsky and Maharaj and reveals the ways that Sapolsky’s scientific research supports the non-dual pointers offered by Maharaj.

IV.
Seeking

In “PART ONE” it will be seen that most persons on the planet are not seeking, and most will never seek, but for those who are seeking, most will face several obstacles:

In “PART TWO” of this book, it will be seen why many criticized Maharaj for “changing his message in his later talks.” It will be seen that the changes were not about changing the message per se as much as about changing his methodology as he experimented with one version of the Ultimate Medicine after another in order to try to find an effective means for addressing the Ultimate Sickness.

He tried a religious version of the Medicine, a Spiritual version of the Medicine, and finally settled on a version which addressed to Sickness at its core . . . at the mental and emotional level.

V.
"THE MOST DANGEROUS BELIEF OF ALL"

“Dangerous” is a term that can only apply during the relative existence, but of those who do commit suicide, for example, how many shoot themselves in the foot over and over until they “bleed out”? None. They shoot themselves in the head. Why? In order to try to stop the noise - to try to stop the chatter of a thousand monkeys – to stop the noisy mind which is the area that stores the ideas, notions, concepts, mind-stuff, etc. which drives them into the depths of insanity.

And what are those ideas, notions, concepts, etc. called, collectively? "Their beliefs." The irony? They are not their beliefs at all. They are the beliefs of “others” that were set in place via programming, conditioning, etc. and which persons then think are their own.

And what are those beliefs rooted in, and what reinforces those beliefs and convinces persons that they are sacred and worth fighting over and even sometimes worth dying for? Blind faith.

This 337-page eBook discusses those issues in detail.
