SHIFTING vs. STABILITY
For those that “hung in there” for the entirety of the last series on how to move through the relative existence in a light - rather than in a heavy - manner, they read pointers regarding “shifting” and “stability” throughout.
It
was shown that . . .
“shifting” (in mood, in one’s emotional state which then leads to emotional intoxication, and in attitude) is the “stuff” of duality
whereas
stability is the “stuff” of non-duality.
Christian spokespersons claim that their membership planet-wide is around 2.23 billion persons. That number likely ignores any consideration of the huge exodus from Christianity during recent years;
whatever the total number might be, how many of them have even the slightest clue that Yeshu’a (the actual name of the one they mistakenly call “Jesus”) spent his final years sharing the non-dual pointers which he found after abandoning organized religion?
From my experience of witnessing them closely for many years, the guesstimate here is . . . almost none.
From among those billions, how many could answer accurately the question, “What did Yeshu’a mean when he purportedly said, ‘A dual-minded person is unstable in all ways’?”
[We’ll stay today with a focus upon the “unstable” vs. “stable” part of that pointer, but the question could also be asked, “How many Christians have any clue at all about the meaning of any of the non-duality-based pointers he offered?” They include:
“When you speak of Me, speak of Me as I AM.”
“Before Abraham was, I AM.”
“No one shall ever see the kingdom of heaven - it is within.”
“Heaven and earth shall fade away.”
“Cleave
a piece of wood and I am there;
lift up the stone and you will find Me there.”
“If you do not know yourselves, then you are in poverty and you are poverty.”
“I will give you what the eye has not seen, and what the ear has not heard, and what the hand has not touched, and what has not arisen in the heart of man.”
“If they say to you, 'from where have you originated?' say to them, 'We have come from the light, where the light originated through itself'.”
“Whoever drinks from my mouth shall become as I AM and I myself will become he, and the hidden things shall be revealed to him.”
“It is impossible for a man to mount two horses and to stretch two bows; and it is impossible for a servant to serve two masters; otherwise, he will honor the one and offend the other.”
“When you make the two one, and when you make the inner as the outer and the outer as the inner, and the above as the below, and when you make the male and the female into a single one, so that the male will not be male and the female not be female, then shall you [understand].”
“I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword.”
“I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”
“A man’s enemies will be the members of his household.”
“If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.”]
To continue: his pointer is showing that duality and dual-mindedness are the “stuff” of instability, of “unstable minds” (which is the condition of any and every mind). All “shiftings” away from what is usually a case of temporary stability are also shown to be the stuff of an unstable, duality-based mind.
Of that Maharaj explained why persons seem to grasp the understanding and then seemingly “lose” it: “You are so used to the support of concepts that when your concepts leave you, although it is your true state, you get frightened and try to cling to them again.”
To stabilize allows one to pass through the remainder of the relative existence with a sense of neutrality. For the most part, the non-realized masses are neutral about nothing.
Give them a single word concepts list and their belief systems will be triggered and they will be able instantly to yell “For!” or “Against!”
From the point that either of those words arises, they will be trapped in their states of duality-inspired instability and fluctuations and flux and unsteadiness and volatility, ready to fight - often to the death - for their beliefs.
And part of their brainwashing will include the regular singing in their religious services the words,
“Onward Christian soldiers! Marching as to war with the cross of Jesus going on before. Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe. Forward into battle; see His banners go! Like a mighty army moves the Church of God!”
Yeshu’a spoke of oneness, of not-two; his followers are inspired by their “Us vs. Them” mentality so that any pronouncement about their being “the people of peace” can be seen to be just so much BS.
That being the case, then shifting vs. stability will mark and mar the relative existence as their dual-mindedness assures that they shall be “unstable in all ways.”
