FROM A SITE VISITOR: Teachers sometimes speak of “impressions.” Are there not some impressions that are real or truthful in basis? Thank you for the site.

F.: [Continued from 9 December, 2007] Yet few will ever transition beyond either their desire for continuity of the Am-ness or their fear that “they” might not have continuity. Note how drastically that impression of continuity has been distorted by men who developed concepts regarding "an eternal continuation of the body-mind-personality triad."

(Note also how belief in that fictional triad completely blocks any awareness of reality…of the unicity…of the Oneness…of the At-one-ment.)

Tapping into the desire among persons to “last forever” (or being consumed with the fear that they will last forever but will be punished forever) controlling men used their magical thinking (a.k.a., supernatural thinking) to develop concepts about “an eternal life” and about being “good” and about not being “bad.” Those concepts gained widespread acceptance since the idea of “eternity” seemed plausible to the masses because of the impression of continuity.

Then, men developed concepts about eternal reward instead of eternal punishment in order to control the thoughts and deeds of the masses. All of their concepts were easy to buy into since that impression of continuity which is present and based in fact was easily distorted into beliefs and desires about continuity that are false.

As a result of the sense of continuity, the sensation that “I Am” (which arises spontaneously in humans and birds and fish and all spaces by which the consciousness manifests) can be accompanied by an awareness among some that “I Was” and “I Shall Be.”

Once the consciousness has been warped or blocked via programming and conditioning—inspiring persons to believe in concepts beyond the two impressions that are based in fact—then they become “highly impressionable.”

Once persons are highly impressionable, they are set up to believe anything…including the most bizarre and unbelievable tales that can be dreamed up by rabbis or medicine men or priests or imans or parents or businessmen or businesswomen or political leaders.

At that point, the facts surrounding “I Was” can be distorted, and impressionable persons will then buy into such nonsensical concepts as “Sacred Contracts.” The facts surrounding “I Shall Be” can also be distorted, then impressionable persons among the non-Realized will buy into concepts such as “I shall be either in a geographic heaven forever or in a geographic hell forever.”

The impression of the continuity (specifically, the continuity of conscious-energy) is factual, and the impression of continuity (specifically, the continuity of matter) is factual. As soon as the consciousness is subjected to the programming and conditioning which lead to body-mind-personality identification, however, the truth behind the fact-based impression of continuity is lost among the ignorant. Then, the distortion is consider to be fact in their "minds" as a result of what they think they know.

Yet most persons do not have a clue about what has been impressed upon them since most will never pause for long enough to take an objective inventory of their beliefs and ideas and emotions and thoughts and words and deeds that are all rooted in false impressions that have been made upon them (that is, upon the warped consciousness).

What about you? Have you considered how many concepts have been impressed upon you? If not, you might consider making a list and then filling in each of the blanks below with as many examples as you can: “My parents always impressed upon me to ____” or “My teachers always impressed upon us to _____” or “My religious or spiritual guides have always impressed upon me to _____.” Then, please read your list and enter into the silence of contemplation.
