DE-AWESOME-FYING NON-DUAL TERMINOLOGY
There have been millions of religious and spiritual and philosophical and ideological and Eastern and, yes, even non-dual concepts / beliefs which billions of humans have taken to be “awesome.” None of them were, and none of them are.
This series is offering a different perspective about those concepts / beliefs / pointers / whatever.
Yesterday this was shown about the concept of “continuity”: there is no such thing. Before leaving that discussion, it’s “cousins” referred to as who-ness and / or WHO-NESS should be mentioned.
WHO-NESS and / or who-ness
Before discussing three other concepts related to the myths of “continuity” and “who-ness” and “WHO-NESS,” this will be shown about the concepts of “who-ness” and “WHO-NESS”: there is no such thing.
Using the third and final version of the Ultimate Medicine he offered, Maharaj replaced his earlier “seven-step-path” approach with a “four-step-path approach.”
After the third step when the belief in all personas are discarded (including the so-called “good ones” such as “The Super Religious One,” “The Spiritual Giant,” The Super Seeker” and the Super Knower”) one returns to the earlier fourth step of “The Child Ignorance State” or “The Child No-Knowing Stage.”
Per his final version of the Medicine, Maharaj made clear that “humans should not seek to know who or WHO they are” explaining that “it is enough to know who you are not” (namely, all of the false personas, roles, identities, etc. which have been assigned or assumed).
To seek and find a “who” or a “WHO” will be as futile an effort as trying to seek and find Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, or any other dreamed up “being.” Why? Because “who’s” and “WHO’s” and Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy all have one thing in common: there is no such thing.
[If one remains slightly curious after rejecting all beliefs regarding who-ness or WHO-NESS, the pointer here is that one can come to understand what “one is,” namely, an elemental plant food body circulating air and conscious-energy which will eventually come to an end, after which what remains will be elements which will return to the universal pool of elements and various forms of energy - one of which is conscious-energy - which will all return to the universal pools of energy.]
So, post-manifestation, there is no who-ness or WHO-NESS, only the what-ness (energy / matter) which is, which has always been, and which will always be.
Then, even the understanding of the what-ness can be cast aside as the fully realized will abide as naturally as the birds, the fish, the deer and all other living things which have never wasted a second seeking who-ness, much less WHO-NESS.
So, continuity: no such thing
and
WHO-NESS and / or who-ness: no such thing.
Something “awesome” about those concepts: no such thing.
That brings us to the discussion of three more related, non-awesome concepts:
SELF-Actualization / SELF-Realization, and self-realization
Today this will be shown that, regarding the concepts of “SELF-Actualization” / “SELF-Realization” and “self-realization”: there’s no such thing.
What was offered above applies here as well: believing in “SELF-Actualization” / “SELF-Realization” and “self-realization” will conjure up - to one degree or another - some element of the false concepts of WHO-NESS and / or SELF-NESS (be that some imaginary “Infinite SELF,” some imaginary “Supreme SELF,” some imaginary “Eternal SELF” . . . whatever).
Next, consider “self-realization,” related to Maharaj’s invitation to “find who you are not.” The “self” refers to the roles, characters, personas, etc., which are assigned or assumed by humans as “identifiers.”
And finally, a belief in the concept of “SELF-Realization” leads humans to a belief in an “Identifier” or “Identifiers” even though all “identifiers” or “Identifiers” are based in false concepts which were taught and learned by the masses. Some among the wise may become ready to be un-taught and to un-learn all concepts and beliefs if they would realize fully.
All “SELF” Identifications are consider to be awesome by those assuming those Identifications and using them as identifiers / Identifiers (again, be they some imaginary “Infinite Self,” some imaginary “Supreme Self,” some imaginary “Eternal Self” . . . whatever.)
As for “realization,” Maharaj’s final definition of that is this:
“realization is simply a process by which one becomes freed from believing in all taught and learned ignorance and stupidity and insanity and all of the other nonsense stored in the mind parts of the human brain.”
As for actualization, if one understands what actualization actually is, any awake, aware and conscious “non-dualist” will reject that concept instantly.
How is that defined?
“Self-actualization, in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, is the highest level of psychological development, where personal potential is fully realized after basic bodily and ego needs have been fulfilled.”
“Needs”? Really? Who needs?
“Personal potential”? Really?
“Body” and “ego” needs? Really?
End
of story for “actualization” among the realized.
So, let’s tic the boxes:
continuity: no such thing;
WHO-NESS and / or who-ness: no such thing;
“SELF-Actualization”: no such thing;
“SELF-Realization”: no such thing;
and
“self-realization”: no such thing (as long as one understands that the term “self” refers to the “false selves” which have been assigned or assumed by humans as identifiers but which are dreamed up images only).
