THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS PEACE OF MIN “MIND” and PERSONALITY: What Cultures Consider “Assets” Are Actually “Liabilities” Part Two So to differentiate between behavior that is driven by mental illness as opposed to that which is driven by programming and conditioning and acculturation, it must be understood that taking personas to be actual identities results in personality disorders which only look like insanity to the objective witness; nevertheless, personality disorders do block the cognitive functioning of the brain. Further, personality disorders block the natural and normal functioning of the brain and body far more often than do mental illnesses. The results of a study of global mental illness by the World Health Organization and Harvard Medical School, as reported in The Journal of the American Medical Association, reveal that from 1 to 5 percent of the populations of most of the countries surveyed had serious mental illness. By contrast, estimates are that 99% of the earth’s population suffer from one or more personality disorders; thus, as “non-dual sages” have shared for centuries, the relative existence problems of the planet are rooted in personality. Realization offers the opportunity to eliminate most of the problems of the planet since they are rooted in personality, not in mental illness. When diagnosable mental health problems reach a level of seriousness that is labeled “clinical,” then a mental illness exists and professional intervention and treatment are indicated. Non-duality cannot treat such conditions;  however, those mental illnesses are very different from personality disorders, and personality disorders can be addressed and eliminated via the understanding that is attainable by way of the non-dual understanding. Psychiatrists and psychotherapists attempt to treat mental illnesses. Realization offers the treatment for personality disorders. Since personality disorders are far more common on planet earth than are mental illnesses, then a logical approach would involve this: when insane-type behavior is being observed, look first to determine if personality is inspiring the conduct in an effort to sustain an illusory self. Again, while the effects of personality on behavior often appear to involve some degree of mental illness—with persons certainly seeming to be totally insane at times—mental illness and personality disorders are different. 59% of all women and 41% of all men who are killed in the U.S. will die during a "relationship breakup." Some speak of “temporary insanity” as a persona (such as “husband” or “wife” or “lover”) strikes out when a false identity feels threatened. Those crimes appear to be evidence of a mental illness, yet the stage for those murders is always set long before the murders happen. The murders happen as a result of acculturation whereby persons accept a culturally-assigned persona as a true identity, take it to define who they truly are, and are then willing to kill in an effort to protect a fictitious role assigned within their societies. That which is labeled “insanity” or “temporary insanity” in such cases is not actually a mental illness at all. The astronomical murder rate across the planet is a result of personality, not a result of clinical mental illness. Yet most people on the planet dismiss such conduct as “insane” while never being aware of the actual role that personality is playing. Another reason that personality defects and mental illnesses are mistaken (one for the other) is because the same type of destructive or self-destructive tendencies can be triggered by either. It is true that mental illnesses and personality disorders both call for “treatment,” and the call should be an urgent one, but the effective treatments for those two conditions are quite different. Again, psychiatrists and psychotherapists attempt to treat mental illnesses. Realization offers the treatment for personality disorders. All but the truly insane, the too young, or the brain-damaged can realize, though the power of faulty programming and conditioning will prevent most persons from ever doing so. Most will remain trapped in personality for the entire period of manifestation. If realization is to happen, some questions to be asked include, “What personas have you adopted and how powerful is their influence upon your behavior?” “When angry or hurt, WHO (what false identity) is feeling the anger or hurt?” “What persona is causing you to be miserable or to suffer or to generate conflict?” “How is ego, and your assumption of ego-states as identities, driving you throughout each and every day, all day long?” Please consider: one non-dual seeker who had prostate cancer reported that, if the passing of blood had not happened, he would have never known the problem so he would never have sought the solution. This discussion is identifying the root of the widespread problems of the planet in order that persons might (a) better understand the cause of their problems and also know that (b) the non-dual understanding can provide a solution. While many would dismiss other persons as “insane” if they disagree with them, most behavior that appears to be insane is actually rooted in personality. So that is the problem. Then, knowing the problem, one might be willing to seek the solution, namely, realization. For some, the direct path approach will "work" for some persons; the traditional path might work for some seekers; and other, newer approaches might work for other seekers. The solution is found when the suitable "path" is followed to its end. So, the problems of the planet are, for the most part, rooted in “personality conflict.” That is a term that is typically used to minimize the reasons that a "relationship" "failed," but the term can be used accurately in light of the statistics shared earlier: while up to 5% of the planet’s population was shown by research to have mental illnesses, 99% have personality disorders. As evidence, one estimate is that 99% suffer from the Addictive Personality Disorder, being addicted to substances or food or spending or gambling or sex or money or power, ad infinitum. Most persons suffer from multiple problems because most have internalized several of the basic personality types and dozens of others. Each type can cause the manifestation of more than one disorder. Are you beginning to understand what persons are “up against” in any effort to be free? Are you beginning to see why some sages have estimated that less than 1% of the planet’s population will ever realize fully and then be free of the effects of programming, acculturation, conditioning and be freed simultaneously from the nonsense and conflict and angst that accompany body-mind-personality identification? THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you." 

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

and 

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places

but are states of mind, nothing more than

concepts dreamed up by men."

"There is no hell."

in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record

teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
