WHY THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS “PEACE OF MIND” The Conclusion First, consciousness is energy, and energy is always in motion. To try to “still” the consciousness is an exercise in futility. Next, the “mind” was never intended by nature to be “at peace.” The “mind” was intended by nature to be on guard. The peace that so many seek happened among humankind in the pre-mind days. A brain of small volume allowed humans to function, but it did not prepare them for the obstacles they would face. In order for the species to survive, nature began to adapt the brain. As nature saw a need for memories to be stored and retrieved in order to protect the body and assure continuance of the species, the brain expanded in volume. The “mind” came into being, and its purpose was not to be “at peace.” Its task was to be prepared, to be on guard, to be vigilant. Eventually, it would become hypervigilante as more and more memories triggered more and more opportunities to experience “fears.” With the advent of languages, persons began using conditioning and programming in order to plant into the “mind” certain concepts that would allow programmers to control behavior. Humans functioned for millions of years without a mind and then for years with a mind. Prior to language and programming, the functioning was all-natural. After the development of language, the functioning began to be unnatural (see the earlier discussion of personality disorders) and supernatural / religious / spiritual as more and more concepts were dreamed up to explain that which the ignorant masses could not otherwise explain. Thus, the concepts of gods and goddesses were invented and tales of those gods would be passed down for at least 5000 years. [Maharaj: "First of all you identify something as being good or bad for yourself. Then, in an effort to acquire good or to get rid of the bad, you have invented a God. Then you worship such a God and . . . you pray to that God for something good to happen to you."]
Modern versions of those ancient pagan gods have evolved, and “minds” are filled with nonsense rooted in ancient myths and superstitions and misunderstanding. Now, the typical “mind” is so filled with dualistic nonsense and learned ignorance that it is never “at rest.” It is no longer being used to generate self-constructive behavior but is being used to label and judge: “right vs. wrong”; “good vs. bad”; “ally vs. enemy”; and “deserving to live vs. deserving to die.” Whereas fighting in ancient days might have dealt with the life-death issue of water rights as new settlers tried to take over living space settled by an earlier tribe, fighting today is based in unnatural ideas and concepts and in supernatural beliefs. As more and more dogma and concepts were taught, a study of the history of humans reveals that, other than natural causes, fighting over religious or spiritual ideas implanted in the “minds” of persons has become the number one killer of people. Now, the ‘problems of the planet” are rooted in personality and the personality disorders which they generate. Persons are stressed, playing religious roles, assuming their spiritualized ego to be who they are, all of which is nonsense rooted in personality. Personality, in turn, is rooted in the modern “mind,” and the modern mind is an aberration of what nature intended to be an assets. That which evolved from nature and which was intended to be an asset has not become a major liability. Now, people are being killed as a result of disagreements rooted in the content of their “minds”—content that relates to which of the dreamed up gods is "the right one" to worship. Among the masses, there is no “peace of mind” because of their overriding concern with “reward vs. punishment” and “right vs. wrong” which result in planet-wide judgmentalism and a sense of separation from “others” as well as from authenticity and stability and sanity. “Minds,” therefore, are restless as persons try to behave in unnatural ways in order to assure eternal continuity for a body that is only a temporary manifestation. The unnatural and the supernatural work together to insure that no “peace of mind” will happen, so children are taught that they are not to engage in anything as natural as masturbation unless they are willing to suffer the penalty of eternal damnation into the fires of hell. And when that natural act happens, the unnatural state of a mind with no peace and no rest follows. Thus, this consideration been offered to protégés: The "mind" is the instrument which supports your personality with thoughts, and those thoughts are the instruments that will forever prevent "peace of mind"; in fact, there is no such thing as "peace of mind." There is only peace if freed of belief in all which is stored in the mind which is what realization is: realizing that all which is stored in the mind is nonsense; that all nonsense much be cast aside; and that one must thereafter abide in what Maharaj called a no-mind, zero-concepts manner . . . independent of the BS-filled mind and dependent upon a healthy brain, if one is present. May you find the wherewithal and the courage to begin to question the nonsense that is being used by persons in your culture to create a “mind” that can never be “at peace” but that will always insure that no peace of mind ever happens. And then may this be realized: Among
religions and philosophies, there is no other means that can produce the
necessary brain-flush save completion of the entire non-dual “journey” which
invites realization - that is, the dissolution of all of the contamination which
plagues “the human mind” and - in turn - plagues humanity as a whole. To be continued. Please enter into the silence of contemplation. |
