You Really Can Just Be (Without Being Anything or Anybody), Part One
Here, if valid, contemporary examples of non-duality pointers are heard or sent here by site visitors, they are occasionally shared if they provide clarity around a particular pointer being discussed.
Examples of persons who “get it” but then regress are shared too as a caution to those who proclaim, “I got it! I got it! Oops, I don’t got it.”
Maharaj: [Explaining why persons seem to grasp the understanding and then seemingly “lose” it]: “You are so used to the support of concepts that when your concepts leave you, although it is your true state, you get frightened and try to cling to them again.”
Such has happened with one fellow in the news lately, a so-called, “Prince Harry.”
Evidence that he might be waking up to some truth came in this quote sent here by a non-dual seeker:
“Prince” Harry said:
It occurred to me that identity is a hierarchy. We are primarily one thing, and then we’re primarily another, and then another, and so on until death - in succession.
(Of course we are not one thing after another but most believe that to be true.)
“The Prince” continued:
Each new identity assumes the throne of Self but takes us further from our original self, perhaps our core self - the child.
(Indeed, returning to that earliest no-identity, no-concept, no-beliefs state is what realization is all about.)
Harry:
Yes, evolution,
maturation, the path towards wisdom, it’s all natural and healthy, but there’s
a purity to childhood, which is diluted with each iteration.
(Agree.)
However, all that talk became meaningless as revealed in one recent interview when Anderson Cooper asked Harry, “Why not renounce your titles as Duke and Duchess?” Harry replied, “And what difference would that make?”
Again, “You are so used to the support of concepts that when your concepts leave you, although it is your true state, you get frightened and try to cling to them again.”
and
“So dear is one motivator which will pull persons from the path and cause them to revert to their old beliefs.”
So how about pausing long enough to flash back to your recent point: Each new identity assumes the throne of Self but takes us further from our original self.
So what difference would it make? All the difference. Why? Because evolution, maturation and wisdom will not be found when one clings to such regal and stately and noble and majestic titles or false personal identities.
[As for "royalty," I had an experience treating someone like royalty. The end result was that I ended up with a mate who became a royal pain in the ass.]
On another occasion Harry was asked if the royal family’s concern with the color of the skin of a child conceived with bi-racial Meagan was evidence of the fact that members of the royal family were racist. He said, “No.”
Really?
Why the inconsistency? First, hundreds of seekers were studied and it was found that most who were finally positioned to begin an earnest and thorough and honest search for the understanding and for wisdom were about 45.5 years of age. Harry is 38.
In the next seven or so years, he may well reach a point where he will be able to look at his family objectively, (as all that come here are encouraged to do).
Recall that one writer reported that Yeshu’a (also known inaccurately as “Jesus”) supposedly said, “a man’s enemies will be those of his own household”
and
“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but with a sword”
And another writer reported that Yeshu’a said:
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters - yes, even their own life - such a person cannot be my disciple.”
Note he did not say, “Hate your father, hate your mother, etc. He said, “Hate father, mother,” etc. That is, the roles, not the personas playing the roles.
What is Harry’s family’s history? What is in his lineage or shown by present family members that could inspire a sense of pride and arouse him to declare that he misses them and that he “wants his father back” and “wants his brother back”?
Anyone who is slightly familiar with the treatment he and his wife received from the royal family and their U.K. devotees would laugh at the notion that he “wants his father back” and “wants his brother back” and misses many things about the Kingdom.
How about we let John Oliver - a British comedian and satirist - offer his perspective about that royal family: “They’re an emotionally-stunted group of fundamentally-flawed people doing a very silly pseudo-job.”
It has also been noted that 1200 years of inbreeding (to keep the bloodline “pure” and to keep non-royals and non-whites from sullying the bloodline) must also have had an effect.
[Note: The U.S. has certain regions and populations with the same resulting effects.]
What he might be missing is the 5% of his income provided by the British public and the 95% provided by his father's Duchy income.
My daughter as a child had a pure breed Bichon Frise, cute as can be but the dumbest, unhealthiest dog I’ve ever dealt with; by contrast, I had a mongrel (i.e., mutt or mixed-breed dog) that was one of the smartest dogs I’ve ever dealt with.
One vet reacted to my complaint about how much the dog's health issues were costing me by explaining that pure breeds have a gene pool that is limited or closed so the chances of genetic defects manifesting will rise.
Defects will include higher risk for cancer and tumors; eye and heart disease; joint and bone disorders; skin, immune system and neurological disease; and even epilepsy.”
Pure breeds are always far more screwed up than my mutt. As Forrest Gump said, “Stupid is as stupid does,” or as Maharaj said, “The three main symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness include 'ignorance, stupidity, and insanity'.”
So if Harry would have to be insane to “want his father back” and “wants his brother back,” what might be his actual motive.
Consider the Stockholm Syndrome, another motivator which, if persons become “frightened,” can inspire them to try to cling to earlier support systems and concepts again.
Harry could be financially independent - and thus independent of his family and the U.K. - were he and Meagan to develop a budget and allow it to restore them to financial sanity.
They have a combined wealth of
$60,000,000 and Harry receives a $450,000 monthly income check from his mother's estate;
too, at age 40, he will receive another 8 million pounds from her estate (equaling nearly 10 million U.S. dollars.)
Yet some big financial deals have fallen through and triggered some financial fear (in spite of the sum of money he and Meagan have and will have).
Stockholm Syndrome: “A coping mechanism to a captive or one trapped in an abusive situation. People develop positive feelings toward their captors or abusers over time”
and
“People who have Stockholm syndrome have positive feelings toward the captors or abusers and sympathy for their captors’ beliefs and behaviors.”
Had the royal family been wise enough to take advantage of what Meagan’s gene pool was offering them, they might have begun the process of shifting away from their historic effects of in-breeding and “pure breeding” and the accompanying white supremacist-driven-beliefs which allowed them to justify
(1) invading lands all around the globe and (2) and raping and killing mainly black and brown people and (3) raping the resources of those whom they “colonized” and took their resources and shipped those back to the U.K.
So those are the people Harry misses? Really? If he realizes, he will be done with them completely. What are the odds? According to Maharaj, not very high at all, but it could happen.
The odds given to “floyd” at one point in the past would have been “slim” to “not at all,” so . . . .
