You Really Can Just Be (Without Being Anything or Anybody), Part Three
Persons are driven by fears and desires which are based in the delusions they take to be truth. Of all of the delusions which drive persons, their desire to be loved and their fear that they will not be are the most influential.
Too,
all fears and desires and perceived “needs” are taken to be real as a result of
unnatural programming, unnatural conditioning, unnatural acculturation,
unnatural domestication, unnatural brainwashing, and
unnatural indoctrination.
The unnatural belief in personal attributes and the subsequent belief that “a,”
“b,” and “c” are prerequisites for happiness and peace are, in fact, based in
the body-mind-personality identifications that operate under the auspices of
your programming, conditioning, acculturation, domestication. indoctrination,
and brainwashing and those, in turn, generate a sense of misery and suffering.
Another was offered the consideration in these terms:
If you cling to the false identity of “husband,” you shall never find
authenticity and truth, so peace will never happen consistently. If you find authenticity
and truth, then “husbanding” or “not husbanding” can happen . . . and consistent
peace will happen either way.
To another, this explanation was offered:
If you find authenticity and truth, then “husbanding” or “not husbanding” can
happen without “disturbing the peace” either way. Understand also that “husband”
has no form. Understand the unreality of one and the reality of the other; at
that point, ego, identities, and misperceptions shall be transcended.
“Husband” was a figment of someone’s imagination, a label dreamed up only about
800 years ago after millions of years of “human-type experiences” happened
without that false identity.
The
masses have bought into someone’s imagining and allowed someone else to assign
that role to you. Ever since, that role has determined how you feel and think
and behave.
Now, misery (and even murder during “breakups”) happens in defense of a figment
of the imaginings generated by programmed “minds.” How to be free of the
effects of the programmed “mind”?
Understand that the “mind” is the root of all illusion. But how to be rid of the “mind”? It must be turned in on itself, so to speak, in order that all of its fallacious concepts can be seen to be untrue.
(What
actually happens is that some vestige of pure consciousness becomes aware of
the condition of the blocked consciousness and discards the content of the
fictional “mind.”)
In that light of awareness, the “mind” is burned away like a skin cancer that
is exposed to the light amplification of a laser; then, the belief in untruths
is allowed to “die” (i.e., “to cease” or “to disappear”).
Afterwards, the “pathway” to truth is cleared of the obstacles of deceit and can be followed step-by-step to full realization, to full liberation, to full freedom. Again, is the solution to never marry?
Of
course not, yet the only way to avoid your emotional intoxication and emotional
pain is to accept that marriage might happen or might not, but in either case
it must happen without the playing of phony roles and without the adoption of
false identities, if peace is to be maintained.
By the way, what persons call “the True Self,” like the imaginary “husband,” is
also formless. The “True Self” is not “the True Witness” if you assume that
witness to be something with a form. More accurately, it is merely “formless,
pure, accurate witnessing.”
Abandon the goal to preserve “husband” or to mourn the “death” of “husband” and
make it a goal to find authenticity and truth so that objective, pure
witnessing can happen.
After
that, “husbanding” might happen or might not . . . might continue or might not;
in either case, however, there will be no persona-driven emotional intoxication
and no destructive overreaction.
Seeing that will free you of the effects of the emotional intoxication and the
emotional hangovers that happen as false identities “come” and as false identities
“go.”
However,
the unwavering sense of “Just-Being-ness” can manifest only if all illusions
about self-ness and Self-ness and WHO-ness end.
Advaitin Louise Sterling addressed the absence of personhood and identification
and WHO-ness of “floyd” this way in the introduction she wrote for an anthology
of non-dual books:
Realisation means the shattering of the shell of separation so that the
non-dual nature of Reality is directly known. How can this be different from
person to person? Only in the ABSENCE of the person is this nature revealed.
In
this way, Floyd Henderson invites us to strip away all that is personal, all
that is dualistic, all that separates us from this understanding of Oneness.
The summative statement “I AM THAT; I AM” describes that non-dual understanding
in absolute terms as well as its expression in the relative.
Floyd
Henderson is THAT - just like all human beings; however, Floyd is fixed
unshakably in this understanding, so all functioning, relatively speaking,
flows directly from this understanding.
In this way, the biographical details (such as, “born” in Louisiana; moved to
Texas; worked as a teacher and business owner over several decades before
taking early retirement to write; father of a daughter named Ashley; current
resident in the community of Walden on Lake Conroe in Texas;
years of seeking
followed by twenty-five months in the forest dweller stage and experiencing a
vision that resulted in the dramatic peripetia or flash of realization;
functioning as a Direct Path, Nisargan guide; and author of over forty non-dual
books) are the attributes or flavourings which coloured the pure consciousness
in the particular shape and form at the relative level.
Yet, these attributes are false ingredients. They cannot provide a true answer
to the question “Who is Floyd Henderson?” because he recognizes no who-ness at
all . . . believes in no “who” that is living “here” at all. He once explained
it this way when asked if he was ever bothered by people:
“Floyd’s” take:
“
. . . How could persons possibly bother “me? They do not have even the slightest
clue about where I truly live. Only a few on the entire planet called “earth”
have a clue. Some might enter what is called ‘floyd’s house’ or ‘floyd’s home,’
but that is not where I live; in fact, ‘where’ I live has nothing to do with a ‘where’
at all.
“In this regard, there is actually only the ‘how.’ ‘How’ I abide is as the
awareness, as the original nature, as the natural state which has no
boundaries, which has no defining traits, and which does not change. ‘How’ I
abide is without conditions or conditioning, without qualifications, and
without limitations.”
