WHEN SOCIOPATHS AND PSYCHOPATHS RULE

Of the nine basic personality types as defined by the Enneagram Personality Analysis Method, one type above all has had the greatest impact on increasing such relative-existence happenings as abuse (including sexual, mental, emotionally, and physical);

as fighting; as starting wars; as enslaving people; as creating anxiety among the working force in businesses; as inspiring gang formations and the resultant violent gang activity; as creating fixed hierarchies which preserve the highest positions in a society and which trap those at the lower levels in those positions;

as perpetuating a “them vs. us” mentality; as perpetuating “different from” as well as “better than vs. worse than”  belief systems; as bastardizing the ranks of political leaders with tyrants and fascists and dictators and tyrants and autocrats;

as setting the stage for discrimination in terms of religious preferences or no religious preferences and sexual preferences and discrimination over age and disabilities and national origin and equal pay and race and skin color and in all duality-based belief systems.

Hence understanding the Type Eight - and how psychically-unhealthy Eights generate the Sociopathic and Psychopathic Personality Disorders - is called for.

The Enneagram Institute (IE) offers this about the Type Eight Personality (which is the type most likely to develop the Antisocial Personality Disorder): 

Eights are self-confident, strong, and assertive . . . but can also be egocentric and domineering (which is the potential with all personality identifications). Eights feel they must control their environment, especially people, sometimes becoming confrontational and intimidating. Eights typically have problems with their tempers and with allowing themselves to be vulnerable.

Thayer is a stockbroker who has worked intensively on understanding her Type Eight personality. She recounts a childhood incident in which she could clearly see the development of this pattern: 

“Much of my tenacity and toughness comes from my Dad. He always told me not to ‘let anybody push you around.’ It was not okay to cry. I learned to master my weaker side early on. At the tender age of eight, a huge horse ran away with me. When an adult caught the horse, I resolutely dismounted without a tear. I could tell my father was proud.” 

[F.: Note, as alluded to earlier, not all Eights develop as a result of abuse. It is more about programming and conditioning and domestication. A simple statement from “Dad” can be the impetus, a statement that takes seconds to say but that can remain in a mind for a lifetime and can drive thoughts and words and actions. 

Note how little is required to set a child off on the path that leads to the formation of a Type Eight Personality which can eventually lead to a person’s psychic deterioration that can result in the development of the Sociopathic Personality Disorder.] 

The IE continues: Eights do not want to be controlled or to allow others to have power over them (their basic fear), whether the power is psychological, sexual, social, or financial. Much of their behavior is involved with making sure that they retain and increase whatever power they have for as long as possible.

An Eight may be a general or a gardener, a small businessman or a mogul, the mother of a family or the superior of a religious community. No matter: being “in charge” and leaving their imprint on their sphere is uniquely characteristic of them. 

[F.: Note that Lanza and the Tsarnaev Brothers were about the task of “being in charge” and “leaving their imprint.”] 

The IE: Type Eights often refuse to “give in” to social convention, and they can defy fear, shame, and concern about the consequences of their actions. Although they are usually aware of what people think of them, they do not let the opinions of others sway them. They go about their business with a steely determination that can be awe inspiring, even intimidating to others. 

[F.: If you have seen the tape of the Tsarnaev Brothers on their way to placing and discharging their bombs, you do not see “evil personified,” as some commentators have claimed. You saw the sociopath’s and / or the psychopath’s “steely determination.”] 

The IE: Because they fear that they will be rejected (divorced, humiliated, criticized, fired, or harmed in some way), Eights attempt to defend themselves by rejecting others first. 

[F.: Their belief is that the best defense is a good offense, so Adam Lanza and the Tsarnaev Brothers eventually went the offensive route.] 

The IE: The result is that average Eights become blocked in their ability to connect with people or to love since love gives “the other” power over them, reawakening their basic fear. 

The more Eights build up their egos in order to protect themselves, the more sensitive they become to any real or imaginary slight to their self-respect, authority, or preeminence. The more they attempt to make themselves impervious to hurt or pain (whether physical or emotional), the more they “shut down” emotionally to become hardened and rock-like. 

F.: As Eights become more stressed and more driven by the egotism-supported ego-states / personalities / personas that they have assumed, they can disintegrate through several levels. The final five levels of deteriorating psychic health, as Eights become more stressed and egocentric, reveal the following: 

From the IE: 

Level 5: Begin to dominate their environment, including others: want to feel that others are behind them, supporting their efforts. Swaggering, boastful, forceful, and expansive: the “boss” whose word is law. Proud, egocentric, want to impose their will and vision on everything, not seeing others as equals or treating them with respect. 

Level 6: Become highly combative and intimidating to get their way: confrontational, belligerent, creating adversarial relationships. Everything a test of wills, and they will not back down. Use threats and reprisals to get obedience from others, to keep others off balance and insecure. However, unjust treatment makes others fear and resent them, possibly also band together against them. 

Level 7: Defying any attempt to control them, become completely ruthless, dictatorial, “might makes right.” The criminal and outlaw, renegade, and con-artist. Hard-hearted . . . and potentially violent. 

Level 8: Develop delusional ideas about their power, invincibility, and ability to prevail: megalomania, feeling omnipotent, invulnerable. Recklessly over-extending self. 

Level 9: If they get in danger, they may brutally destroy everything that has not conformed to their will rather than surrender to anyone else. Vengeful, barbaric, murderous. Sociopathic tendencies. Generally corresponds to the Antisocial Personality Disorder. 

F.: It takes years for personality to develop and then deteriorate to the point that persons feel no sense of the Oneness, no sense of the unicity, no ability to understand Maharaj’s pointer that “wisdom is knowing that I am nothing . . . Love is knowing that I am everything.”

It can take years to become “hard-hearted” and “violent”; however, as mentioned in prior posts, some counselors nowadays are seeing five and six and seven and eight-year-olds who are showing near-full-blown sociopathic behavior. 

[Consider the recent case of a six-year old who shot his teacher in a Virginia school.]

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you." 

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

and 

"Heaven and earth shall fade away."

--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and 

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places

but are states of mind, nothing more than

concepts dreamed up by men."

--Pope John Paul II 

"There is no hell."

--Pope Francis, the current pope

in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record

teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
