“Again, primates are primates are primates. The basic behavior of one primate will usually adumbrate the basic behavior of all primates. Apes mirror humans; humans mirror apes; moreover, what happens in Vegas might stay in Vegas, but what happens on the savannah will happen everywhere else on the globe where humans have clustered together in cultures and societies.”

Yesterday’s posted ended with Maharaj’s advice: “Don’t be afraid of a world you yourself have created” or invented. To continue:

(Of course, you did not invent “the world” of your distorted perception as much as it has been invented for you over a period of thousands of years by men and some women who have dreamed up all of the ignorance-and-insanity-based-but-fictional concepts and beliefs that have been passed down to you and which now form the distortion and illusion which you take to be “the world.”) 

Only one species on the planet has invented “social and psychological tumult,” the social tumult rooted in acculturation and domestication and the psychological tumult rooted in programming, conditioning, brainwashing, and indoctrination. And those are the roots of the Ultimate Sickness. 

If that it understood, then it can be seen how the opinion of one critic of Maharaj’s shift in focus amounted to the scattering of BS when the detractor - who was stuck at the third step and has assumed the role of “The Spiritual Giant” and “The Judge” - concluded: 

“The later books of Maharaj do not enjoy the same clarity as ‘I Am That’. It seems that he himself got complicated or rather evolved himself or declined as happens to many teachers.” 

So why did Maharaj advise seekers to stop reading “I AM THAT” with its occasional glimpses of the Nisargan truth but with an excess of religion-and-spirituality-based pointers that he came to see were a diversion from what is actually required to address the Ultimate Sickness? That happened because he eventually saw the real problem and because he saw the real cure.

Moreover, if it is understood that the roots of the Sickness are human-generated “social and psychological tumult,” then it should be clear why Maharaj’s message “evolved” and why his focus shifted from to a religion-based message to a spirituality-based message to a psychology-based message.

Why? Because he came to realize that the Ultimate Sickness is not treated by pouring on more dogma or by adding on more spirituality but by taking away, removing that which was put into the mind which is the real root of the Ultimate Sickness. 

That is why Maharaj warned seekers that he would give them nothing but would, instead, take everything away and why he said, “There is no progress.” 

He said, “From my angle, you are nothing. You have no identity.” 

Moreover, he explained that all spiritual exercises had been abandoned: “I am stabilized. There is no going into samadhi or coming down from samadhi. That is over.” 

So many persons claim that they “want freedom,” yet they make a second job out of life, doing all of their religious activities and having all of their so-called spiritual experiences after doing all of their spiritual exercises. 

What did Maharaj model (just as Jesus modeled by leaving organized religion behind)? Both by example showed that religious activities and spiritual exercises are merely two more things that are accumulated along the way that must eventually go the way of all other accumulations. 

Additionally, what of the talk by persons that they have had “religious experiences”? What of the talk by persons that they have had “spiritual experiences”? Really? Maharaj said: “Whatever you have tried to understand during your spiritual search will prove false.” 

Too, “religious experiences” and “spiritual experiences” would supposedly be experienced by . . . whom? Maharaj said: Once you realize, “Both experience and experiencer will disappear.” 

So, recall from earlier: All psychological states (including religious and spiritual states) are really only “apparent states,” not real at all, yet the effects they generate are, relatively speaking, quite real. 

Next, recall that Sapolsky showed that stress manifests with all non-humans that suffer a physiological threat. In those cases, the sense of stress passes quickly so its effects on the elemental plant food body are limited. 

Stress also manifests with all humans that suffer a physiological threat and often that sense of stress might also pass fairly quickly (though unresolved trauma and unprocessed, undiscarded “memories” which remain are a major liability for millions of humans, relatively speaking). 

However, stress also manifests with all non-realized-humans when they “experience” a psychological, merely-perceived-but-not-real threat, and that sense of stress seldom passes quickly; therefore, its effects on the elemental plant food body are long-term and, relatively speaking, highly detrimental physically, mentally, and emotionally. 

Sapolsky and Maharaj were both spot on: the main problem with humanity - and the main cause of the Ultimate Sickness - centers in the mind. Maharaj’s advice in that regard: “It is the mind that tells you that the mind is there. Don’t be deceived. All the endless arguments about the mind are produced by the mind itself, for its own protection, continuation and expansion.” 

The solution: “Remove [the mind’s] distortions and impurities” and then “go to zero concepts.” He explained further: “The mind cannot go beyond itself by itself. It must explode.”

If one reaches a no-belief, no-mind state of zero concepts and reaches a point where there is no longer a single statement that can begin with “I believe . . . ,” then one has reached the no-mind state that Maharaj reached and that he invited seekers to reach as well. 

Otherwise, this will be the case: “Mind means disturbance; restlessness itself is mind.” 

But this is what is possible: “When the mind is quiet it reflects Reality. When it is motionless through and through, it dissolves and only Reality remains.” 

How to be free of the mind? Maharaj advised: “[If you] understand your own mind, its hold on you will snap. The mind misunderstands; misunderstanding is its very nature. Right understanding is the only remedy.” 

Again, it is the Ultimate Medicine that has on occasion cured the Ultimate Sickness which is a mind-and-ignorance-and-insanity-based illness, not a too-little-dogma illness and not a spiritual malady. 

Realization is the process by which the understanding comes and by which humans can be freed from abiding under the auspices of the mind and the auspices of body and mind and personality identification. Yet how can one be freed if one does not know what is imprisoning her or him? One cannot. 

As long as persons buy into the nonsense that “the evil in the world and in their lives” can be cured by more dogma, then they will remain sick and will only become even sicker. As long as persons buy into the nonsense that their bodies and minds can be healed “if they will just become more spiritual,” then they will remain sick and only become even sicker. 

If one would abide as sensibly as all other living things on the planet and would avoid being stressed as a result of dreamed-up fears and false “needs” and the frustration of the usually-unmet-desires of “psychological states,” then one must understand what truly made him or her sick and what can truly make her or him well. 

Anything else that is bought into is comparable to “the cure all, snake oil” which con men sold in the Old West days in the U.S. and which con men and women and the “big name teachers” (who Maharaj warned about) are still selling today all around the globe. Theirs is merely a newer version, a religious or spiritual or philosophical or ideological version of the snake oil that was sold in bygone days.

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you." 

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

"Heaven and earth shall fade away."

--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and 

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places

but are states of mind, nothing more than

concepts dreamed up by men."

--Pope John Paul II 

"There is no hell."

--Pope Francis, the current pope

in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record

teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
