“Again, primates are primates are primates. The basic behavior of one primate will usually adumbrate the basic behavior of all primates. Apes mirror humans; humans mirror apes; moreover, what happens in Vegas might stay in Vegas, but what happens on the savannah will happen everywhere else on the globe where humans have clustered together in cultures and societies.”

“Baboons live in big, complex social groups, and the population I went to study lived like kings . . . .

“The baboons work maybe four hours a day to feed themselves; hardly anyone is likely to eat them. Basically, baboons have about a half dozen solid hours of sunlight a day to devote to being rotten to each other. Just like our society . . . .

“We live well enough to have the luxury to get ourselves sick with purely social, psychological stress.”

With that final sentence, Sapolsky captures the essence of non-duality’s take on ‘the Oneness,” showing that primates are primates and that baboons are humans and that humans are baboons, especially when abiding in a social group and when behaving at their worst (relatively speaking). Far more commonalities than differences exist.

It has been shown that the main problem of humanity is neither a “too-little-dogma-tumult” or a “spiritual-malady-tumult.” It is a psychological tumult (which can be seen by any objective observer to be manifesting all around the globe in “religious-or- spirituality-inspired tumult”);

yet the root of the planet’s ever-expanding “religious / spiritual tumult” is also evidence of the “psychological problems” of the fanatics involved in that form of tumult. The main problem is still psychological, as is being revealed with the current Hamas-Israeli war.

The solution? To eliminate any psychological problem, the mind must go, and the mind goes by eliminating all of the ideas and concepts and perceptions and misperceptions which have been accumulated and which are now stored there, an accumulation which can be summarized in one word: “beliefs.” 

When one group of people believe (or at least claim) that they are “the chosen people of God (of the God of Abraham - and that they are the favorite sons and daughters of that one true God - then the other children of the God of Abraham (Christians and Muslims) are placed farther down the “We’re the best” on the religious hierarchy.

Good friggin’ luck trying to co-exist in a shared territory where that hierarchy is believed to be reality. Anyone who has ever tried to live peacefully and happily with an egotistical, religious fanatic, is well aware of how impossible that goal is.   

How to be rid of the chaos-generating mind? Discard every last belief and the mind ends. The content of the mind and the stress it induces are - as Sapolsky notes - merely an invention, invented long ago by members of the human species and now spread in the form of a global, mental / psychological pandemic to almost every human everywhere. 

Be done with the bogus mind and what remains? The elemental brain remains, and through use of that instead of the “mind,” humans can abide as naturally and normally as every other species on the planet (none of which are being controlled by the ignorant-and-insane thoughts churned out constantly - without pause or interruption - by the “ever-active-minds” of the non-realized masses.)

In that regard, these considerations were shared with a seeker in the NE section of the U.S. who just completed the online course and who is well along the way toward his goal of purging all of the content of the mind, though not yet there 100% of the way. So, why some continued churning?

Maharaj said: “You are so used to the support of concepts that when your concepts leave you, although it is your true state, you get frightened and try to cling to them again.” 

So there is a double whammy obstacle which prefers human primates from developing a mode of functioning which results in peace and contentment: (1) there’s the innate, baboon-like manner of functioning in a social group which must be overcome and (2) there is the mind-generated “ignorance, stupidity and insanity” (Maharaj) which human primates are being called to address but likely never will.

Of course fear is one product generated by personality / personas. The other is desire. And the primary desires of all personalities / personas / ego-states are (1) a desire for continuity and (2) a desire to secretly control your every thought and word and action while allowing you to continue to think - and then continue to believe erroneously - that you are making conscious choices rather than being driven by the unconscious, hidden agendas of personalities. 

Again, the task is always to find your REAL motive, which most never will. Which personality is lingering? Which is still at play? WHO is getting strokes or WHOSE ego is being made to feel good by any particular action?

In other words, when the mind starts its deal, ask: “WHO cares? Which personality is wanting me to pay attention to whatever its thinking about?” If the persona is false, its agenda is false, but the relative consequences will be quite real. Yet seldom will people ever find their true agendas. 

So when your mind starts rolling next time, find out which personas have an agenda, what the assumed and perceived and anticipated and desired “payoff” is for whatever you’re doing or occupying yourself with, and then see if you can start finding “your” real motives - that is, your personas’ motives - that are behind everything you do. 

The end game is to be rid of the mind. The strategy: understand that the mind is nothing but an accumulation of erroneous, nonsense-based beliefs; you’ll be rid of it by reaching a point where you have no beliefs at all, because that is all that the mind chatter which is still arising on occasion is about. 

Lingering beliefs inspire thoughts, thoughts inspire words, and words drive action. The no-action, peaceful, and quiet state can only come . . .

in the absence of beliefs, thoughts, words, and actions and . . . 

in the absence of belief in a do-er and . . .  

in the absence of the doingness that typifies the go-do-zoom style of the non-realized masses. 

You do not need more of anything except more absence of-ness.

As if there were not already enough stress among humans, in the years since the global financial crisis hit and since the emergence of revelations regarding the collusion between corrupt governments and greedy banking and investment firms, the level of stress among human around the globe has increased from its formerly-already-through-the-roof levels to even higher concentrations now. 

The financial (and, especially, capitalistic) hierarchies around the globe have been stretched to new lengths with greater proportions of wealth shifting to those at the top and with deeper levels of poverty (a) generating all of their subsequent negative impacts, relatively speaking and with (b) an exacerbation of the already-often-debilitating effects on those stuck in the lower echelons of the planet’s near-limitless number of hierarchies. 

Anger, frustration, and the consequent sense of powerlessness that is accompanying the awareness among the masses of their inability to do little or anything at all in regards to the abuses of big business and big government have resulted in exponential increases in stress levels. 

Add to that the fact that most persons are not following the proper food plan for their specific, metabolic body type, the result of which is under-nourished, under-functioning organs which adversely affect moods and which generate all sorts of, first, physical consequences and then eventually produce all sorts of mental and emotional disorders. 

Then add to all of the above the fact that scientists have now derived specific equations which they have been able to use to measure the huge levels of stress that have resulted from the recent polar shift and a new “perfect storm of stressors” has resulted. 

Some say, “That’s all relative, Floyd. I have nothing to do with things relative.” Maybe so, O Deep Philosopher, but things relative are going to have a great deal to do with you, and that will continue to be the case as long as the AM-ness continues and as long as the validity of the summative statement of non-duality (“I AM THAT; I AM”) also continues to be true. 

[Heard about the philosopher who drowned? He jumped into the deep end of a pool of water and then only thought about swimming. Glub. Glub.]

For example, things relative happened to twenty-six people at Sandy Hook Elementary School in the U.S. after Adam Lanza awoke on the morning of December 14, 2012, killed his mother, drove to the school, killed twenty children and six adults there, and then shot himself in the head. 

Some of those children prior to his arrival were likely as happy, as content, and as peaceful as anyone that has realized fully. Yet something completely relative happened to change all of that. 

Be as fully realized as you can be, but the fact remains that you - the composite unity - will continue to bump up against the ignorance and stupidity and insanity which prevail in every corner of the phenomenal existence. 

Can the understanding provide a sort of “Noumenal, Teflon coating” for you that prevents the insanity of things relative and phenomenal from “sticking” to you? You bet.

Yet on a planet where social groups are the abnormal norm, few can abide as isolated hermits 24 / 7. Most have to venture out into their societies and most have to be exposed to the ignorance and insanity which surrounds everyone in cultures all around the globe.

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you." 

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

and 

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places

but are states of mind, nothing more than

concepts dreamed up by men."

"There is no hell."

--Pope Francis, the current pope

in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record

teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
