DE-AWESOME-FYING NON-DUAL TERMINOLOGY
Maharaj: “I talk to you from the Perspective of the Universal Consciousness.”

To continue with more on the rationale for this series:
1. Among the 7+ billion non-realized persons on planet earth, 97% reported in a survey that they limit their “search area” to the space beneath the roof a church or basilica or cathedral or temple or the meeting room of a “spiritual group” or a wat or mosque or synagogue or gurdwara. Actually, they seldom seek because they are convinced that they have found. They are taught to “question nothing” and to “accept with blind faith” whatever they are taught.
2. The same applies to the millions supposedly seeking in particular rooms or a loft or a home or a borrowed gathering space or via a particular ideology, cult, philosophy, or theory.
3. Of those seeking via a system of pointers which included the invitation to “question everything,” few question it all.
4. Here, “non-dualists” are encouraged to “question it all” and then an expanded caveat is added: “even question every non-dual pointer you’ve ever heard or read.”
5. Long before Maharaj shared pointers on the bogus beliefs regarding body and mind and personality identification; and long before he advised seekers to abandon their religious and spiritual role-playing; and long before he advised them to give up their spiritual workaholism and merely abide naturally, he laid the groundwork for all the pointers to come by saying, “Question everything.”
He meant with those words that every belief accumulated by listening to others and by reading the words of others and by going to gatherings (where those he derided as “Big Name Teachers” were collecting millions of dollars a year from seekers) must be questioned.
6. There have been millions of religious and spiritual and philosophical and ideological and Eastern and, yes, even non-dual concepts / beliefs which billions of humans have taken to be “awesome.”
In addition to “awesome,” so many simple and basic parts of the non-dual understanding have been “elevated in status” in a most supercilious, pompous fashion, reporting that various elements of the message are “noble,” “other-worldly,” “extraordinary,” “exceptional,” “distinctive,” and “exclusive.” None of them were, and none of them are.
7. This series is offering a different perspective about those concepts / beliefs / pointers / whatever.
So far in this series, it has been shown that - far from being “awesome concepts or teachings” - there is actually no validity or logic at all to such concepts or teachings as . . .

WHO-ness and / or who-ness

“SELF-Actualization”

“SELF-Realization”
and
“self-realization” (unless referring to the fact that one has realized that all assigned or assumed selves are illusions as are all assumed Selves as well)
and
liberation
and
enlightenment, awakening, and spiritual awakening,

“the Spiritual Malady”

higher consciousness
and
noble truths
and
how to know God
and
finding your life’s purpose
and
how to find peace of mind
and, relatedly,
mindfulness
and
becoming who you are
and
having an ageless body and timeless mind
and
karma
and
“Infinite Self” and “Supreme Self” and “Eternal Self”
and
birth-death-rebirth cycles
and
“The Universe”
and
“the work” / “spiritual work” / “spiritual workaholism”
and
contrary types vs. contrarians
and
being blessed and having blesséd days
and
the power of now
Today, the discussion turns to . . .
THE PURE, UNIVERSAL CONSCIOUSNESS
and
“I AM CONSCIOUSNESS”
and
“CONSCIOUSNESS IS ALL THERE IS.”
Is there such a thing as impure, dirty, or contaminated consciousness?
Actually, no, but there can be circumstances by which consciousness cannot function naturally and efficiently.
Consider:
The term “dirty power” means one thing when discussing politicians and a different thing when discussing - for example - electrical power. In the latter case, “dirty power” is an abnormality not in the power but in the quality of the delivery system. Abnormalities can include low power factors, voltage variations, frequency variations, surges, etc.
Yet even then, the electrical power is not dirty or impure. The problems - which can result in power outages and other effects - deal with the means of movement for the power, not with the power itself.
The same applies to consciousness which is actually just conscious-energy. For the sake of maintaining “level appropriateness” in discussions of consciousness which often happen at an elementary level, then, yes, there is talk of unclean or impure or polluted consciousness.
At some point, however, it should be made clear that the problems of humanity are centered not in unclean or impure or polluted consciousness but are centered instead in certain “transmission blockages.”
Just as flaws in electrical power transmission can result in abnormalities in the quality of power movement can lead some to talk of “dirty power,” the fact is that the power is not dirty at all.
What is actually happening is that the delivery process is not functioning efficiently, and that applies to problems with the functioning of conscious-energy as well.
While low power factors, voltage variations, frequency variations, surges, etc., can negatively impact (relatively speaking) the efficiency of the functioning of electrical power, so too are there forces at play which can negatively impact (relatively speaking) the movement and effectiveness of conscious-energy. Such as?
Such as warped or perverted programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, brainwashing and indoctrination of humans.
Next, while some credit Maharaj with having been a speck of manifested, pure, universal consciousness, such was not his take. He did not say, “I am the pure, universal consciousness.” He did say, “I talk to you from the perspective of the universal consciousness.”
Electric companies are not made up of people who are electrical power. They are made up of persons whose job it is to delivery electrical power.
So it is with the supply chain of conscious-energy, moving about throughout the universe and on planet earth via the sun; via photosynthesis and plants; via plant and human cell manufacturing; via acts of friction among humans, etc.
To claim “I am consciousness” is false. To explain that “I am presently a three-part composite unity of converted plant food elements which is constantly circulating different quantities of air and different quantities of conscious-energy” would be true.
[Some believe – because of “memories” – that there has been some continuity of consciousness or conscious-energy from the beginning of the manifestation to the present moment, believing erroneously the elemental body has stored certain specific quantities of conscious-energy.
If the body could do that, then one would only have needed to eat one meal and would then be done for an entire existence; instead, the conscious-energy is constantly coming and going and must be constantly replenished in order for “life” to continue.]
Furthermore, it is bogus to claim that “consciousness is all there is.”
All there is – basically - is
energy / matter. Neither can be created, and neither can be destroyed. Moreover, consciousness is really conscious-energy, and conscious-energy is not all there is. In fact, just in terms of energy alone, there is mechanical energy, heat energy, chemical energy, electrical radiant energy, nuclear energy, sound energy, conscious-energy, etc. Consciousness / conscious-energy is not all there is.
[And since energy can neither be created nor destroyed, so much for the false beliefs that there are “creators” and there is “a Creator”; and so much for past - and, yes, even current - beliefs about there being three kinds of gods / goddesses: “Creator gods, Sustainer gods, and Destroyer gods.”]
So, regarding the three topics above:
The pure, universal consciousness: VALID.
“I am consciousness”: INVALID
“Consciousness is all there is.” INVALID
