So it was seen earlier that the “mind” is both the seat and the guardian of all ignorance; that the “mind” creates all chaos; that persons trapped in ignorance as a result of believing the information accumulated in their “minds” cannot come to know that which they do not know;
and that their “minds” are a collection of ideas and concepts and beliefs, all of which must be discarded if they are ever to touch Reality.
Understand too that, since the “mind” is the source of all chaos, you will never know Love, peace, or harmony if you do not reject the “mind’s” content; moreover, you will never live naturally since the “mind” is the cause of all thoughts, words, and deeds that are unnatural and / or supernatural.
In the case of those trying to live supernaturally, they will actually live under the auspices of magical thinking which will block any chance for living sanely and naturally.
Several pointers regarding the “mind” have been offered before but they will be listed again because they point the way toward sanity and peace:
18. Efforts to quiet the mind or to ignore thoughts cannot succeed with any consistency.
Only when full realization strikes, only when the “Oh my gosh!” moment happens, only then does the mind dissolve. What to consider meanwhile? It is true that, if you are instructed to “avoid thinking about an elephant,” the only thing that you can think of is an elephant. So, what is the answer?
The answer is not to try to be rid of a disturbing thought. The more you try, the more the thought will intrude. The answer is to ask when a thought is interrupting the peace, “WHO - what ego-state - is thinking that thought?”
Only by relinquishing belief in the false identities that inspire thoughts can the thoughts come to an end. Only by abandoning the “this” and “that” in such beliefs as “I am this” (role) or “I am that” (role) will the peace and quiet of only the “I Am” ever happen.
If those false identities are not abandoned, you will never think or say anything. You will never carry on a discussion with anyone. You will never function as anything more than a space providing a mouthpiece for personas.
As an example, recently a man praised a national political figure who constantly mouths nationalistic, right-wing, white supremacist party-line ignorance about (a) the U.S. being “the greatest country on earth” but who in the next breath claims that (b) the U.S. has become the worst nation on earth and that he and his followers need to make it great again.
That pol speaks of his nation being led down a road toward “socialism” as if he really lives in a nation that was ever a “true democracy.” What delusion. What deception.
One of his senate supporters from Texas, after the U.S. has already had 129 mass shooting in 2023 without even making it through the first quarter of the year, defended his stance against any form of gun control by saying, “The United States is the safest country on earth!”
Every time his supporters gather to listen to his delusions and deceptions and lies, they are actually attending a shock opera intended to inspire them to help him destroy the nation with its laws and courts which are trying to hold him accountable. (So far? No luck.)
The pure, universal consciousness here invited the one touting his favorite pol’s virtues to cast aside the nonsense that the arrogance of his ego-states which has inspired him to follow a fascist and to try something different, to look at facts, to question the lies of his party leader, and to discard them and find truth.
His reply did not come from “him” or from the unblocked consciousness. The “WHO's” which were talking in their sleep were “The Proud (and Arrogant) American”; “The Repeater of His Party's Lies”;
“The One Clinging to Deceptions Which Make Him Feel Proud of His Country That is ‘Better Than Any Other’”; and “The One Who Feels, As Does His Leader, That He Is A Victim.” He and I did not have a discussion. I spoke and his false identities replied.
The exchange was ended because it would be insane for me to stand in a desert and talk to a mirage. A realized guide will invite the one mistaking himself / herself for a mirage to see truth, but if the truth is rejected and the mirage is revered, the talk must end.
When living under the influence of personality and the distortions of the closed and narrow “mind,” persons become as if dummies, sitting on the leg of a ventriloquist, seemingly choosing thoughts and words and actions but really being driven by that which is behind what appears to be happening out front.
And that is happening all across the planet, every second of every day. Somewhere on the planet every second, the non-realized think that they are talking and doing and choosing;
in fact, there is but a form which gives ignorance the mobility to move about the planet and spout itself . . . to spout the ignorance that it is.
If you convert the number that Maharaj predicted will ever realize into a percentage, it comes to about 1.5% of the planet's population, or fewer.
If his guess is accurate, then 98.5% of all forms are functioning in the role of “The Johnny Appleseeds of Ignorance,” ignoring the seeds of consciousness and spreading seeds of cherished deceptions and learned ignorance everywhere they go.
The option to playing the role of a distributor of baseless, ignorant concepts is to be free of “mind” and personality; then, the space can serve as a vehicle which allows the pure consciousness to move about and to share pointers toward the truth.
19. The “mind” is the instrument which supports one’s personalities with thoughts, and those thoughts are the instruments that will forever prevent “peace of mind”;
in fact, Maharaj said, “There is no such thing as “peace of mind.” I added, “There is only peace if one is out of his or her “mind” (meaning, freed from being driven by ignorance stored in the “mind.”
20. Consciousness is rooted in the Absolute. The brain is rooted in the elements. The ‘mind’ is rooted in wrong programming and faulty conditioning and lies and concepts and ideas and superstitions and falsehoods.
21. The non-realized masses are in a play, playing a role, and believing that the role and the play are both real. Why would one believe such nonsense? Because “the warped, lie-filled mind” is the playwright, the author of every scene, and the non-realized love the content of “their minds.”
Comedy or tragedy, sad ending or happy ending - all such duality is a product of the “mind.” Be driven by the “mind” and you will live a duality-based existence of up’s and down’s, of instability, of constant fluctuation, and of chaos.
22. Everything that is said here is to be used to be rid of another false belief until all ideas and emotional intoxication and beliefs are gone and nothing remains but the unstated understanding and the “non-stateable truth.” Only then can the constant churning and re-churning of the false beliefs of the corrupted “mind” finally cease.
23. What is the “inner resource,” the “inner guru”? It is the vestige of pure consciousness which remains, deeply buried beneath the waste called “your mind.”
The mind obscures the consciousness because that mind is so marred by its belief in lies and superstitions and all of its “knowledge” - all of that learned ignorance - that it leaves persons insane . . . so insane that they don’t know what they are not and so insane that they believe the lies and dreams of the planet.
24. In order to know (the great) Reality, you must be sane. In order to be sane, you must be out of your mind.
For their suffering to end, persons must understand the functioning of the totality; must see that all suffering is rooted in the assumption of ego-states as false identities; must realize that they have no “mind” but instead are being driven by the “minds” of others (which they now think is their own “mind”);
must be aware of the fact that a “mind” is nothing more than the storehouse of all of the lies and beliefs and ideas and concepts that must be cast aside in order to end human suffering; and must see the limitations of doingness but the timeless and limitless nature of beingness . . . and non-beingness . . . and even beyond non-being as well.
To understand that last pointer, one must understand that there has not ever been “A Never-Had-A-Child Mother.”
