What The Non-Dual Understanding Can Accomplish
So why such confidence and conviction here that the non-duality understanding . . .
Can free persons of the belief that personas actually define who they are?
Can
free persons of the effects of personality (and, thus, personality disorders)?
Can free persons of extreme foolishness and irrationality?
and
Can
free persons from the bondage of certain levels of insanity itself?
Because the confidence and conviction here is a result of experience. Maharaj
said: “I have no faith in anything which has ever been told, not even what has
been told by the Vedas. Only my own experience.”
The same is the case here, and that accounts for the confidence and conviction.
If this understanding was able to free “floyd” of the belief that personas were
real, of the effects of personality and personality disorders, of extreme
foolishness and irrationality, and from the bondage of certain levels of
insanity itself, it can do the same for many of the seekers who come here as
well.
But “no faith”? Absolutely. No faith. If you have an illness and the medicine
you are taking does not work, then why keep taking the medicine? Here, faith
was one of the medicines used to try to treat The Ultimate Sickness.
It
did not work, so why would there be any clinging to something that does not
work? That in itself would be evidence of insanity, would it not?
Moreover, all that is shared here (including sharings about the way you were,
what happened to cause you to assume false identities as real, what led to the
personality disorders that now plague the masses, how the masses have ended up
insane to one degree or another, and how the non-duality teachings can address
much of that) all of that is based in, as Maharaj said, “Only my own
experience.”
Neither “floyd” nor “Floyd” is special. If clarify and reason and logic and
freedom from personality and freedom from the bondage of insanity happened here
via the non-duality understanding, then it can happen for many other seekers
via the non-duality understanding.
Do It ‘Your Way’ and ‘My Way’ but Not ‘Their Way’”
Earlier, this was offered:
I walked off the stage of “The Theater of the Lie,” never to return there
again, never to assume again any of the roles that had been played on that
stage in that theater. I had gone completely sane.
To continue with the description of “the journey here”:
In retrospect, it is also clear that the search for the authenticity never
ended . . . that it merely went into periods of intermittent dormancy as more
and more obstacles were stored in the fiction-filled “mind” that blocked the
eyes of the inner guru - the inner resource - from seeing the perfectly clear
sky behind the clouds.
The results of a too-long and too-arduous search led to the approach now
offered here in satsang, at retreats, in non-duality books, and on this non-dual
blog, an approach which includes:
a
determination to adhere strictly to the part of the message offered in the
masthead on the home page of the Non-dual blog, namely, to provide a
non-duality, Non-dual forum that focuses on the Non-dual philosophy and that
offers Non-dual meditations, teachings and considerations in simple language to
point to the Absolute Reality and realization.”
As a man in Germany wrote after having completed the online Non-dual Course:
Hey Floyd,
It´s been a way from “Floyd, I think I don´t need to do the course because I´ve
got ‘it’ already” to seeing through this mirage and “experiencing” the “realm”
of pure bliss, true health, freedom, nothingness, doinglessness and
mindlessness, which is “my” true nature”.
Thank you so much for being a mirror and showing “the path”. One thing: You seem to be the only one I have found who can write about Advaita and Nisarga Yoga in plain English so that one can realize that pure consciousness is speaking.
I´ve taken a look
at books from other authors and disciples of Maharaj and couldn´t help but
notice their play of “one upmanship” with readers and disciples by using
spiritual and religious jargon. So it is. Keep up the work and all the best!

In the end, of course, the message is not “My way or the highway” but “This was
my way - the way that worked here - and you are invited to see if it might work
for you as well.”
As Paul Anka wrote and as Sinatra sang, “For what is ‘a man’ / what has he got
/ If not ‘Himself,’ then he has not / To say the things he truly feels / And
not the words of one who kneels / The record shows . . . I took the blows /And
did it my way.”
The
blows from whom? From those who believe that the “real non-duality message” can
only be received by the Traditional or Neo-Advaita or Neo-Vedanta or Pseudo
Advaita Vedanta method;
from those who have written to explain how senseless the Nisarga Yoga is; from
those who claim that, because they “have realized fully, they can tell I have
not realized at all” (though their words are meaningless, only providing evidence
of their failure to have realized at all);
from angry Christians and threatening Muslims and “Spiritual Giants” in programs they claim have given them everything they need while actually failing them miserably in every way.
[If a spiritual program tells you early on that you must be restored to sanity and then claims their plan will do that, then if one’s problem has been effectively addressed, why would you need to continue with their program on a daily basis every day for the rest of your life?
An accident in 2005 resulted in the breaking of the two major bones in my lower right leg; the shattering of 17 bones in my right foot; the shattering multiple bones in my left hand; the dislocation of my shoulders; the throwing of my hips out of alignment; and confinement in a wheelchair and nearly a year of physical therapy.
When I was able to stop using the wheelchair and had completed my physical therapy, the therapist and his staff watched me leave their facility and applauded as I walked to my car and drove away on my own.
How freakin’ insane would it have been if I had stopped at the car door, turned, and walked back into their facility and said, “I’ve decided I am going to keep coming back and am going to keep getting physical therapy treatment from you for the rest of my days on the planet?”
It would have only been sane if the fact was that they had not treated me effectively and if they there was no evidence that all of my problems had been effectively addressed.
If I claimed to one and all that they had treated me effectively, why would I go back on a daily basis for the remainder of the manifestation? Maybe because I was so egotistical that I believed that others coming into therapy needed the quality of help which only I could provide?
Or maybe because I was so egotistical, I needed a daily audience to hear what I thought was being pulled out of my “wisdom bank”? I would be
showing one and all that I was insane.]
By the way, there is no problem here with any of those types. Rock and roll;
however, the only ones welcomed here are those who understand that they have
not been restored to sanity by their religion or their spiritual group or their
philosophy or their ideology or their cult or their guide(s).
Been there, done that, too, so it has become clear that the most ignorant of all is not “he who does not know.” The most ignorant of all is “he who does not know . . . and who does not know that he does not know.” So it is.]
At the end of the manifestation, the options are to look back and to see that you did it “My Way / Your Way” (that is, the Way to authenticity and sanity) - or to see that you did it “their way” . . . the insane way . . . the popular way among the ignorance-driven masses.
Can you accept that “My Way / Your Way” will never be the popular way among the populace? Only a few ever traverse the entire manifestation “My Way / Your Way.”
Most
will go along with “their” way - with the personality-driven, insane way of the
masses - and will therefore abide only in ignorance and entrapment and
restlessness and darkness. So that is, too.
Because the road taken here was a long and arduous one, and because there has
come a realization that it need not have been that long or arduous at all, the
message here will continue to be offered in a simple, multi-step, plain English
manner (with a bit of what some say is “a peculiar - even ignorant - accent”)
so that realization can happen . . . now;
so that the remainder of the relative existence can happen in peace and with freedom for all of those earnestly seeking and totally ready for peace and freedom; and so some might avoid the long and arduous version of “the path” and the “journey” that is offered far too often in other venues.
