ANNOUNCEMENTS
[Walter Driscoll asked to interview me in order to preserve on video some of the latest modifications and evolutions in the versions of the message offered here since 1989. He would label the discussion, "Unlearning with Floyd Henderson."
Please note: For those who have a problem hearing what is being shared, the video offers a fairly accurate set of closed captions which some listeners might want to activate.
The interview is available for viewing by clicking on video "NUMBER THIRTEEN" in the column to the right.]
1. [See the offer in gold text following this post for details on how you can watch a retreat on video which includes a detailed discussion of all seven of the steps on the path as used by Maharaj]
2. Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "god," the "Son of god," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns. See the green text after today's post for the full meaning and implications of that.
3. A newer video ("Number Ten: Awakening Together Satsang, March 2018") has now been added in the far right column of this page, offering the opportunity to view a recent 2018 satsang session with Floyd being interviewed by Regina and Jacqueline of "The Awakening Together Group." (See the details in the blue text after this post.)
4. Some prefer paperback books even if they have to wait a day or so to receive it and have to pay more for a printed book and its shipment. Now, 10 paperback books by Henderson are in print and available in two anthologies through Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and over 40,000+ booksellers around the globe including in the Americas, Germany, India, Italy, Poland, Russia, China, Spain, Brazil and South Korea. See the end of this post in red text for details.
5. Would you like to have us send to someone as a gift from you a copy of any ebook in our inventory? See the offer in purple text at the end of this post.
6. Or, you may purchase a Floyd Henderson Shopify Gift Card here for someone and offer recommendations for the books in Floyd's store which might be of assistance to them.
7. You may click here to visit Floyd's bookstore which offers both digital books and paperback books which deal with non-duality, non-duality-based fictional adventures, recovery, and financial budgeting.
BEING
MADE CRAZY, CRAZY, STAYING CRAZY or AWARE OF CRAZINESS AND SEEKING SANITY
If interested: Tomorrow, Monday,
May 6th at 12 noon CST, Walter Driscoll has organized a “live talk +
Q and A” session for those interested in the non-dual understanding. He has
asked me to prepare some opening comments regarding my “take” on non-duality and
then accept questions from the guests on his Zoom and Facebook sites.

Contributors to Insanity: Personality, Personality Traits an Personality Disorders
To continue with a look at some of the more troublesome personality disorders which plague the relative existence of those among the non-realized:
Schizoid Avoidant Personality Disorder:
includes traits of the Schizoid and Avoidant Personality Disorders as well as
high anxiety and extreme feelings of inadequacy; takes avoidance to an even
higher extreme; often these types were exposed at an early age to the death of
someone close; preoccupied with death / blood / skulls / the morbid and gross /
horror films; prone to have very strange dreams (one adult SAPD said that he
has suffered from a recurring dream since childhood in which he dreams that he
is chewing broken glass and bleeding).
Paranoid Personality Disorder:
irrational suspicions and mistrust of people; driven by baseless fears of an
extreme degree; obsessive.
Antisocial Personality Disorder (or
Sociopathic Personality Disorder): a disorder that inspires a disregard for
the law, for the rights of others, and for the feelings of others; that results
in people being controlling, brutal, and even pathological; unstable: able to
rage one moment and appear to be charming the next, depending on what suits his
/ her purpose.
Sadistic Personality Disorder:
pervasive pattern of being cruel, demeaning, and aggressive. Often manifests
alongside the Sociopathic Personality Disorder.
Histrionic Personality Disorder:
attention-seeking behavior; often inappropriate seductive behavior; shallow;
exaggerates emotions and reactions; overly-dramatic narcissistic patterns of
grandiosity, need for admiration, attention, applause; lack of empathy; capable
of being vicious with words; uses sickness or illnesses to garner favorable
attention or to manipulate; want to believe that they are loved by many and
that they have a huge number of friends, far more than most.
Cyclothymic Personality Disorder:
akin to - but milder than - the Bipolar Personality Disorder (a.k.a., the
Manic-Depressive Personality Disorder). Sufferers are very unstable in terms of
moods; very unpredictable; regular mood swings (hourly, daily, monthly); also,
mood swings, often over a period of years, that can shift from mild depression
to mild elation or to exhilaration or even to a sense of euphoria; often
appears in families along with major depression and the Bipolar Personality
Disorder, at least suggesting that these mood disorders might share similar
causes and that the causes might be related to what is referred to on this site
as “domestication” alongside family-and-community-of-origin programming and
conditioning and - therefore - acculturation; has been seen in a significant
number of cases to eventually develop into full-blown Bipolar Personality
Disorder.
Bi-Polar (formerly Manic-Depressive)
Personality Disorder: a mood disorder characterized by dramatic mood
swings; the mood swings can alternate from major depression or clinical
depression to mania or extreme elation; in the mania phase, there can be
sleeplessness - sometimes for days - along with hallucinations, psychosis,
grandiose delusions, and / or paranoid rage; thus, distortions of perception
and impairment in social functioning; research has suggested that the condition
can also be induced through drug use.
Dissociative Identity Disorder (previously known as Multiple Personality
Disorder): a fairly common effect of severe trauma during early childhood,
marked by usually extreme and repetitive physical, sexual, and / or emotional
abuse; unlike mild dissociation - such as daydreaming - this is a more severe
disorder which produces a lack of connection in a person’s thoughts, memories,
feelings, actions, or sense of identity; the person literally dissociates
himself from a situation or experience that is too violent, traumatic, or
painful to assimilate consciously; persons with this disorder often never
developed coping skills or the ability to process psychologically.
Dependent Personality Disorder:
psychological or emotional or financial dependence on others and an excessive
need to be taken care of; often accompanied by a sense of arrogance and
entitlement, egotistically believing that they are so special that they deserve
to be taken care of by another or others; submissiveness; manipulation;
clinging feelings of helplessness when alone; preoccupation with fears of being
abandoned; can appear to be loyal to caretakers, but that is about assuring a
continuation of care so they do not have to work and provide for themselves;
often exhibit many of the same traits of those with the Addictive Personality
Disorder.
Obsessive-Compulsive Personality
Disorder: rigid conformity to rules and moral codes; excessive orderliness;
constantly thinking about one thing or person; acting impulsively in regards to
whatever they are obsessing over; (the obsessive mind focuses on something over
and over until an impulsive behavior manifests); can rush into relationships;
can become angry at work and quit a job without having any other job available;
can spend money without considering a budget; in relationships, can use money
to buy someone and can then obsess over controlling that person and possessing
that person, often striking out at that person if “due respect” is not shown or
if demands are not met or if “rules” are not followed or if “expectations” are
not met; thus, willing to take drastic and even physical action against others
without processing their emotions rationally.
Depressive Personality Disorder:
pervasive pattern of depressive cognitions and behaviors, such as unhappiness,
low self-esteem, pessimism, critical and derogatory attitudes, guilt or
remorse, and an inability to relax or feel enjoyment.
Passive-Aggressive Personality Disorder:
display a pattern of negative attitudes and passive resistance in interpersonal
situations; tendency to claim they are acquiescing to the desires and wishes of
another, but then do the opposite instead if they want to; thus, indirect
resistance to demands for adequate social or occupational performance;
negative, defeatist attitudes.
Factitious Personality Disorder: a
psychiatric condition in which a patient deliberately produces or falsifies
symptoms of illness for the sole purpose of assuming the sick role and gaining
attention; can waste time and resources through unnecessary hospital
admissions, expensive investigatory tests, and sometimes, lengthy hospital
stays; intentional production or feigning of physical or psychological signs or
symptoms, in some cases inflicting bodily self-harm; lash out at the body when
suffering mental or emotional distress, that is, can engage in self-destructive
behavior (“cutting” and / or poking self with pins or pens or sharp objects);
never feel as if they are receiving enough positive or warm attention, so are
willing to get it from a doctor or nurse, etc., (and in some cases, that is
their actual circumstance, for example, if living with a parent or parents who
are emotionally unavailable and cold and withdrawn or self-involved); can often
manifest alongside extreme cases of the Histrionic Personality Disorder.
God-Complex Personality Disorder /
Narcissistic Personality Disorder: generates an inflated sense of
self-importance, the need to be admired, extreme self-involvement;
self-obsessed; consider themselves better than others; seek applause and
constant affirmation with an expectation of admiration or praise for every
small deed; love to be the center of attention; fantasize about unlimited
power, success, love; arrogant; lack empathy for others’ feelings; exaggeration
of own skills and achievements; consider themselves extraordinary; take
advantage of others while trying to achieve their own goals; jealous of others’
achievements and are highly competitive, capable of being ruthless to gain what
they want; feel that the rules of their society do not apply to them because
they are so “unique and special”; take credit for the accomplishments of others
and will plagiarize or steal ideas and present them as their own; rude and
arrogant; exhibit a strong sense of entitlement.
Self-Defeating Personality Disorder:
engage regularly in behaviors that undermine one’s own best interests.
Borderline Personality Disorder /
Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (associated with the Splitting
Personality Disorder which is almost always accompanied by the Idealization
Personality Disorder and then the Devaluation Personality Disorder): this
disorder was discussed earlier, but it is becoming so widespread that it will
be included in this list of personality disorders and explained in more detail
here:
NOTE: Call a health care provider if you or your child has symptoms of borderline personality disorder. It is especially important to seek help right away if you or your child is having thoughts of suicide.
Most significant is this: “What is the prerequisite for all personality disorders?” The assumption of personality identifications.
To be continued.
