To continue with what else happened at that 325 A.D. convention . . .
9. they adopted the concept of a Trinity and declared that triune to be an official Christian belief. (Before that time, there was no religious triumvirate of “Father, Son, Holy Ghost as one.”)
10. They studied between up to 1000 “Gospels” to narrow the Bible from its content at that time to its current form (which still varies from one denomination and one translation to the next);
11. they ordered the burning of all books of the Bible that were not approved for inclusion by the council, and they ordered the burning of all copies of the Bible that preceded the final version they created;
12. they set forth a law that Constantine approved: anyone with an earlier copy of the Bible in his possession would be put to death;
13. they proclaimed that no one outside the clergy should be allowed to read the scriptures, that all had to depend on the explanations and interpretations given by the clergy, and that anyone caught reading the Bible on his own would be executed;
14. they created the current Bible, manufactured in the first Council meeting and in the subsequent meetings of that group;
15. they ordered the destruction of all books that linked “Jesus” to the Nazarenes and the Essenes;
16. they created the story that he was from Nazareth and that “Christ the Nazarene” referred to that town (though the town did not exist at the time of Christ’s birth. The title actually referred to the fact that Yeshu’a had followed the teachings of the Nazarene sect for a time);
17. they created the myth that when Christ said he was the “son of man” that he was talking about being “God incarnated as a descendant of Adam”;
18. they ordered the burning of the Library at Alexandria to eliminate its copies of the early writings that the council wanted expunged from their final version of the Bible. Into the Middle Ages, the church continued to punishment with death any Christians caught reading the Bible on their own. They did not want anyone to learn of the pagan roots, the Far Eastern elements, or the cultist teachings in the early scriptures.
Also at the First Council of Nicea …
19. they created a position in Rome for a head of the church (who later would come to be called “the pope”);
20. they changed the Christian day of worship from the Jewish holy day of Saturday to Sunday;
21. they upgraded Christ’s status from a great teacher and prophet to “Son of God”;
22. they rewrote much of the material in the scriptures to fit their new view of what Christianity should look like;
23. they set up pay plans for churches and prescribed that 10% of earnings or possessions be paid to the church by all members;
24. they set up plans to build edifices for worship;
25. they set up orders of worship that were to be followed exactly;
26. they determined that worship services should be offered in a language that only the clergy, but not the people attending, could understand;
27. they decreed that lay people could no longer offer a Christian message in a service or conduct a Christian worship service or offer sacraments or communion. (From that point forward, worship was to be conducted and controlled by paid, appointed clergymen who vowed never to have sex or to marry);
28. they eliminated all of Yeshu’a’s teachings and all reports of his activities from the age of 12 to the age of 30;
29.
they adopted the Persian notion of dual gods of “bad vs. good,” so they created
“Satan” (formerly meaning “the enemy” and usually referring to “ego”
and “egotism”) as a “devil” and added him to the scriptures;
30. they created a physical description of Satan with two horns protruding from the opposite sides of his head, that idea borrowed from the mythological, horned-god named Pan;
31. they also said that Satan carried a trident - an addition to Christian lore from Neptune, the mythological god of the sea. (Neptune’s trident poked fish; Satan’s would supposedly be used to poke evil people for eternity.)
The non-dual message Yeshu’a offered was lost or ignored. The version of “Pauline Christianity” as set forth by politicians and the church hierarchy at Nicea is the only one that most people are familiar with today. The final message of Yeshu’a has not been completely lost because it is still being offered by some non-dual guides, but it is not being offered in any the other modern venues where “his teachings” are supposedly being taught.
Pope John Paul II and Understanding “the Geography of Gehanna”
As with all popes, some of John Paul II’s hidden actions coated him in a high level of blemishing, staining, and tarnishing (including the Vatican Bank / Mafia / money laundering scandals; the murder of certain people living within the Vatican walls; the widespread and well-known pedophilia in the churches all around the globe;
the reassignment of priests to other churches after their crimes again children were uncovered; the paying out of billions of dollars to silence the families of abused children, etc., etc., etc.); nevertheless, his non-hidden and publicly-stated clarification regarding the misperceptions about “hell” were spot on.
The non-duality message is about being free of the influence and effects of dreamed-up, dualistic concepts so that that one can be at peace. To that end, Pope John II tried to neutralize the anxiety and neuroses and fear of burning and suffering for eternity in “hell.”
Also to that end, he said in a three-part series of addresses that persons should come to understand “the geography of Gehanna.”
“Gehanna”(with
a variety of spellings) refers to place in the valley of Gihinnom, or in some
texts, just “Hinnom.” The location was used in the days of Yeshu’a as a
trash-burning site outside ancient Jerusalem.
In Gehanna, fires were kept burning 24-hours-per-day, seven days-per-week.
Earlier, in this “Valley of Eternal Flames,” as it came to be called, the
Canaanites had thrown people as human sacrifice or as tortured enemies into the
fires.
Later, the Jewish people burned their city waste there and disposed of the bodies of dead animals and the bodies of state enemies or of slain criminals in those same flames. “Gehanna” is the word used by Yeshu’a (who spoke Aramaic), but it was corrupted later into the Greek word “Hades,” which was translated into the English word even later as “hell.”
In a
book called the “book of Revelation” which was written some 63 years after the
crucifixion of Yeshu’a, the concept of hell was expanded into a “fiery lake” of
damnation and geographically relocated from its original Middle Eastern desert
site outside Jerusalem and moved to the center of the earth.
Pope John Paul II said that heaven and hell are “not geographic places”
literally but are “states of mind.” Subsequently, his comments were labeled
“misstatements” in certain Catholic writings that originated in Rome and that
dismissed his pointers as nothing more than age-related ramblings.
Of course the majority of Catholics rejected the words about Gehanna offered by the previously “infallible” John Paul II. Why? Because of the magical thinking religion taught them to use, rather than preferring the rational and logical.
Teach people to believe that they bodies will magically reform after “death” and “burial” or “cremation” and be capable of burning in flames forever rather than having their physical, pain-aware bodies being annihilated and you have suckers who will buy into all of your nonsense;
teach people to believe that a priest can chant words over wine and bread and - via the magical act of transubstantiation – and teach them to believe that that wine and bread can be turned in real blood and real flesh; teach them that it is “normal” and “sane” to consume those elements and engage in acts of vampirism and cannibalism and you have suckers who will buy into all of your nonsense;
then after all of that nonsense being taught as fact and truth, you’re going to have about 1.3 billion of “the faithful” who can also believe that a punishment-deserving human can survive as an eternal, pain-ridden body in everlasting flames.
The point Yeshu’a and the pope were making was this: forget about seeking peace through outer resources. If you are separated from the inner resource that can assist you in knowing truth, you’ll live in misery rather than in peace. So he used this comparison:
you
can live a life as comfortable as living in the fine city of Jerusalem or as
miserable as living in Gehanna - the fiery trash dump. Yeshu’a never said that
there was an eternal hell - a place of fiery punishment.
Consider what he modeled in the end: he left the organized religion of his
youth, abandoned the teachings in their “holy texts,” and shared non-dual pointers
in homes or on hillsides and in other natural settings.
Whereas Yeshu’a during his pre-teen years passed along the Jewish dogma which have had been taught early on, in the end he offered the Far Eastern message of non-duality.
If you are not doing the same but are instead continuing to be involved with organized religion and believing in heaven and hell and in a punishing (yet “all-loving”) god who will nevertheless subject you to pain and suffering forever, then you cannot possibly be “a Christ Follower.”
Instead, you are following a long line of old, corrupt, perverted, money-hungry, abnormal men who have been spreading the “Greatest BS Story Ever Told” for 2000 years while dressing up in their multi-thousand dollar, foo-foo garb with their wizard-style, pointy hats and their shiny patent leather shoes (with red being the favorite color of all for those shoes).
Such old men have fooled trillions of humans over the centuries with their magical-thinking-based BS, but you can take away their ability to fool you any longer.
