ARE YOU AT THE WET CHARCOAL STAGE OR THE GUNPOWDER STAGE?
(Most
haven’t a clue and must be told)

has been observed that “wet charcoal” stage seekers often believe that they are
at the gunpowder stage, or beyond”
and
“That especially applies to ‘Religios’ and ‘Spiritual Giants’.”

Once
realized, all that is witnessed appears to be small and insignificant. That is
as it should be. Then, you will function as the doe that was witnessed one
morning while coasting by her during the morning bicycle ride.
She lay at the edge of the road in the cool blue shade. She watched “my
approach” and “my passing by” but her two huge eyes revealed a totally detached
expression - a totally detached demeanor - and it was clear that neither “floyd”
nor the bike nor “the coming” nor “the going” meant a damn thing to her.
With the developed understanding, humans can live as sanely as she. They will
not be attached to, nor pre-occupied with, “the apparent coming” or with “the
inevitable going.”
That
will leave them free of the misery and suffering that are generated by the
desires and the fears of personality and personal identity (or, more typically,
multiple identities).
The invitation here is to be as free of the concepts of “Me-ness” and “Them-ness”
as that doe and to then abide as she abides: with total independence, with
total freedom from cares and concerns, with an ability to do what must be done
to allow the manifestation to continue for now but to simultaneously abide in a
fashion which allows the manifestation to continue in a natural manner rather
than in some phony, supernatural manner or some debilitating, unnatural manner.
Again, please note that these pointers are not for seekers that are early along the “path,” nor for those attached to beliefs that are based on the content of supposedly “holy” texts, nor for Spiritual Giants, next to whom I am a mere pygmy. One recently leveled the charge, “This is not spiritual awakening!” The reply: “Exactly! This is many steps beyond that level! You pegged me spot on!”
And again, these pointers are for those that have done it all, sought it all, “gotten”
most of it, and yet realize that there is some “final piece” which is still
missing; thus, these talks are for only those at the highest state of
readiness, those that have transcended all role-playing, including playing
religious or spiritual roles.
This final understanding is outright rejected prior to consideration by most on “the journey,” truly despised by others. Many who claim to be totally realized - which would require that they presently abide in a no-concept, no-identity, non-dual manner - nevertheless cling to their Advaita or Hindu or Vedanta concepts and cling to an identity, identifying “with” something Supreme or “as” something Supreme. So much for no-concept, no-identity abidance. So much for ego-less-ness and for egotism-less-ness.
Ego (whether the term refers to “identity” or “selfness” or “Selfness”) is
still identity, no matter its mind-and-persona-assigned “rank.” If Krishna was
pointing to truth when he reported that what follows the manifestation is
beyond being and even beyond non-beingness, then Personal Identification is as big a hoax as personal identification.
And if Krishna was pointing to truth when he reported that what follows the
manifestation is beyond being and even beyond non-beingness, then whatever
preceded the manifestation also has nothing to do with beingness or even
non-beingness (because whatever is real is unchanging, “then,” “now,” or “later”).
Next, to WHOM could Personal Identification be important? To WHOM could
Personal Identification be special? To WHOM could Personal Identification be
noble? WHO is claiming “spiritual awakening” while denying others are awakened?
WHO is “This Special Knower”?
Furthermore, WHO that looks objectively and clearly at the consequences of this
manifested consciousness would give it any value? WHO - except those so
attached to body and mind and personality (and to the perpetuation of this
consciousness) - would accept it, if an option had been offered?
WHO - other than those desiring such perpetuation - would think it sane to desire
multiple cycles in multiple “lesser” forms leading, supposedly, to some “greater”
forms, all believed in with a willingness to experience cycle after cycle of
misery and suffering and all satisfied with the prospect of having happiness
eventually rather than grasping the bliss at the only time it can be known,
which is right now?
WHO believes that there can be a knower and knowingness in the Absolute when no
such thing is possible? Those who normalize suffering “here” and “now” in order
to receive some reward “there” and “later”? Those who have assumed some
spiritual or special identification now?
Maharaj’s advice to one could apply to all: “I advise you to give up
spirituality and follow your vocation.”
and this:
Visitor: “The scriptures say that we have our karma and ours sins and that is
why we are here.”
Maharaj: “That is for the ignorant masses. One who has realized the
Self-Knowledge ‘I Am,’ for him these stories are of no use.”
See, your stories, all of them, are of no use; thus, you are invited to
re-consider the biological, scientific facts introduced yesterday that can lead
to the full understanding:
for the seekers moving farther along the “path,” it is to be understood that skin cells are replaced every month. That part of the mistaken “you-ness” only finished coming into existence yesterday.
While the eggs of a female are in place and not “cycling in and out,” he same does not apply to sperm cells, so the sperm which would be involved in the impregnation that nine months later resulted in what was called “the birth” of what was called “you” did not yet exist the month before an act of friction sent that cell of to the races with 15 million to 200 million other sperm cells.
Nothing is as far-reaching as most human minds believe.
At times, “Presence” and “the Composite Unity” are discussed when seekers came here for non-dual retreats. One can speak of being the consciousness or the conscious-energy, but here, what registers is not even that. Here, what registers is a feeling only, and that feeling is not “I am present” but is “I am Presence.”
[Notice: To emphasize for the “advanced” seeker, understand that the message is
not “You are present and she is present and I am present.” Most accurately, the
statement is, “I am Presence.” That alone do I feel.]
On the patio one morning, a bird was sitting on the edge of the table. After
I prepared a cup of cortado with doubled espresso and thenwent outside and
approached the table, the bird flew away. Why? Did it have “a thought?” No.
Was it conscious of some verbalized lesson taught? No.
It moved away merely because the manifested consciousness allowed it to sense
its Presence. Combine that with the desire of the manifested consciousness to
extend itself and voilà - the movement away. If talk of the presence of
consciousness fits more with the understanding you have at this point, fine,
use that for now.
At some point, though, if persons reach the highest understanding that is being
pointed to here, they will allow me to pour into them the Ultimate Medicine
which acts as what is called here “a type of dissolving agent” or “an explosive
agent.” (Again, this talk too is only for those at the highest state of
readiness.)
Then, all sense of Me-ness and a prior Me and a post-manifestation Me will
dissolve into nothingness. There will be no personal you . . . no “Supreme or
Infinite You” . . . no individual . . . nothing personal . . . nothing Personal
. . . and, in the end . . . not even the consciousness of “being present.”
Want peace? There it is. In sleep, there is no sense of being present that is
being registered. Prior to, as the Absolute, there was no “being present” that
was registering. Post to, as the Absolute, there will be no “being present”
that will register.
If there is a WHO involved, attachment to “being present” will allow fear to register
and you’ll fly about as the bird did that morning when it became disturbed
because it wanted its “being present” to continue.
The bird that morning had no choice, but you might. If you become free of being
driven by personas, (especially your “good” spiritual persona vs. your former “bad”
roles that you have supposedly abandoned), which would you choose?
Presence and peace, or “being present” and fluctuating between peace and
disturbance? Playing spiritual roles for the next forty years, or living
naturally and joyfully now, day by day?
The two options are strutting about in a fine cloak of spirituality that
requires constant maintenance, or moving through this relative existence in a
low-maintenance garb.
The case with the one here was the case with Maharaj who said that he was viewed to be a tiny pygmy when next to the Spiritual Giants who occasionally approached and hovered overhead and looked down at him.
So it was. So it is. And so it shall likely remain.
