FORFEITING BELIEF IN THE GREATEST LIE EVER TOLD
In 2015, Republican presidential candidate for president Rick Santorum said during a debate that “16 years ago this country was tremendously inspired by a young woman who faced a gunman in Columbine and was challenged about her faith, and refused to deny God.”
His reference was to the 1999 Columbine school shooting during which two shooters killed twelve students and one teacher and wounded twenty-one others before the two shooters committed suicide.
Both of the shooters were analyzed and the conclusion was in line with the message here, namely, that the problems of humankind are centered in the mind and in personality identifications which set the stage for multiple personality disorders to manifest.
In the case of the shooters, the disorders came to light through diary writings and through what had been uncovered by one’s psychiatrist and the other’s psychologist.
The identified disorders included the Narcissistic / Superiority Personality Disorder, the Sociopathic / Antisocial Personality Disorder Personality Disorder , the Pathological Personality Disorder, the Borderline Personality Disorder, and the Schizotypal Personality Disorder.
In September 1999, the mother of one girl killed during the shooting released a book entitled She Said Yes, discussing the martyrdom of her daughter as well as her daughter's turbulent teenage life, her conversion, and her Christian faith. Other students reported that it was another girl who “said yes.”
It matters not. What matters is the point that religion seemingly generated self-destructive insanity in a teen girl.
The two shooters were influenced by the Goth movement which inspired a fascination with death and darkness. Some Goths like the shooters reject religion and God and are hostile toward institutions like the church.
Now, to the “She Said Yes.” The reference was to the fact that a shooter asked one student, “Do you believe in God?” When the answer “yes” came, he reportedly shot her.
Then, he moved to the next girl. He asked, “Do you believe in God?” When the answer “yes” came, he reportedly shot her.
Now
let’s give their action the sanity vs. insanity test via this scenario:
A male teen is wandering among many of us who are lying prostrate on the floor.
I hear this: “Do you believe in God?”
Answer: “Yes.”
I hear, “BOOM!” as a gun blows out that person’s brains.
Then I hear this: “Do you believe in God?”
Answer: “Yes.”
I hear, “BOOM!” as a gun blows out the next person’s brains.
The shooter approaches me and stands over me with his gun pointed at my head and asks: “Do you believe in God?”
Even if I did believe in God, after seeing the pattern which had unfolded next to me, would I answer “Yes”?
Hell no!
My answer would be, “Say what? God? Who the hell is that? Can’t believe in him because I never heard of him. Swear to . . . uh . . . Satan?”
But several, when challenged about their faith, refused to deny God, even knowing with almost certainty that they would be killed.
These were not unintelligent students. They had seen the pattern. So why not deny, at least long enough to live?
The shooter had asked one girl if she believed in God. She said “yes,” and he asked why. She responded, “Because I believe and my parents brought me up that way.”
So, again, why not deny . . . at least long enough to live?
Because of programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, brainwashing, and indoctrination.
Because her religious parents “brought her up that way.”
Because religion teaches that if one denies God, she or he will burn in hell’s flames forever.
Because religion teaches that if you question what you are told, you will burn in hell’s flames forever. Blind faith above all else must prevail.
Because the girls were not told that Peter denied knowing Jesus three times but he later moved to Rome and the Catholic Church would eventually recognize him as their first pope.
The girls who said “Yes” didn’t learn about the doctrine of repentance. “Damn! Now you tell me! Jeez Louise.”
So much nonsense pumped into the area between the ears of the two girls. So much learned ignorance. So much stupidity displayed by seemingly intelligent humans.
Years later, investigators informed the parent / author of She Said Yes that the question about belief in God was not asked. The mother replied that four witnesses said it did so she was sticking by her book and leaving it on the market and continuing to spend her royalty checks.
Again, it matters not if that was asked and answered or not. Throughout history, multitudes have been “martyred” because they refused to deny the existence of God.
What was Maharaj's take on the issue? He said, “First of all you identify something as being good or bad for yourself. Then, in an effort to acquire good or to get rid of the bad, you have invented a God. Then you worship such a God and . . . you pray to that God for something good to happen to you.”
Maharaj Said No. The critics came after him.
I Said No. The critics have come after me.
I had a “relationship” with a woman who underwent a turbulent life, had a “full conversion” when she took a job in a church, developed her Christian faith, became a key player in Houston’s “Pray Away The Gay” Movement, and accused me of being “A New Age Agent of Satan” when I would not participate with her in that movement.
Eventually, she ended our family, screaming, “You’re not even a Christian!” Stunned into silence, my body language answered, “Uh, Duh. Hello. But only since I was five years old.”
It is said that “you cannot prove a negative.” Of course you can. Science makes clear that all is, generally speaking, energy / matter and that neither energy nor matter can be created nor destroyed. If what was, is, and shall be was never created, then there can be no “Creator.”
Religion supposedly filled the brains of some teens with a “His way or the highway” belief. Same with the Muslims. Same with the Jews. Same with “His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama” who claimed that Hurricane Katrina - which devastated the city of New Orleans and its population - was “a result of the negative karma of the people there.”
The non-realized have limitless beliefs, and one belief is that they have all the answers. Those on the path to realization have no answers but typically ask plenty of questions along the way.
