ARE YOU AT THE WET CHARCOAL STAGE OR THE GUNPOWDER STAGE?
(Most haven’t a clue and must be told)
Pointers from Maharaj make clear that both (2) keeping the relative existence simple rather than complicated and (b) casting aside belief in any and all personality identifications are vital.
“. . . Personality is only an obstacle.”
“The dissolution of personality is followed always by a sense of great relief, as if a heavy burden has fallen off.”
“How utterly dependent is the personality.”

“Truth is simple and open to all. Why do you complicate?”
“Be simple, be humble.”
“You are deeply complex, mysterious, hard to understand.”
“Give up all ideas about yourself and simply be.”

“It is the simple that is certain, not the complicated.”

Are most persona-driven murders in the U.S. of the relationship breakup type? Those numbers are massive, but other types of persona-driven murders have long been occurring. Consider these two statistics:
The Violence Project has been tracking mass shooting in the U.S. since 1966. They have reported that
“Workplaces have been the most common mass shooting sites”
and
“Most of the shooters had been fired.”
Nowadays, with so many military-style, high velocity, auto-fire, high-capacity magazine weapons in the hands of the masses, the sheer numbers of people killed per shooting incident is higher than in past years; but the stat above holds true: workplace shooting are especially common.
As for the second stat - “most of the shooters had been fired” - the subsequent workplace killings are rooted in and driven by the same false personality identification influences as the relationship-breakup type murders.
It all begins with accepting false identities or
roles or personas or ego-states or guises or façades or fronts as
being one’s “true self” rather than seeing there is nothing true or real about personal
identities. They are images. They are mirages. They only seem to be real and true.
Maharaj: “It is all very simple; it is the presence of the person that complicates.”
Once again, for any false personality to be assigned or assumed and then mistaken as a real identity, there must be another person willing to play the dependent / co-dependent counterpart.
Maharaj: “How utterly dependent is the personality.”
For “Spouse” to exist, there must be someone else willing to play the role of “your spouse,” and vice-versa. Well, the same applies with “The Employee,” an identity which cannot be played without someone else playing the role of “The Employer.”
As with the man discussed in the two prior posts, when a spouse chose to no longer play the spouse role, the one whose false identities felt threatened by that committed an offensive action while believing it was a defensive action.
What is the result with those believing “I am a spouse who is under attack” or “I am a fired employee who is under attack”? The result can be what is called in the relative existence, “Murder.”
There is also “suicide by persona-based beliefs.” Remember the girl discussed in the post about the Columbine school shooting? She heard this exchange more than once:
Shooter: “Do you believe in God?”
Student: “Yes.”
BAM! Bullet to the head.
When he then came to her, and she was
asked that question - a question at that point which any sane person would have replied to with, “Oh hell no! I’m TEAM
DEVIL! Go Satan!” - her persona-driven “The Super Religious One” answered YES!
She replied that way knowing that her answer was going to lead to her being shot: “Do I believe in God? Yes.”
BAM! Bullet to the head.
Personality identification can come up with an assortment of ways to die and / or kill.
Also as with “The Spouse” who shot his wife in the back as she tried to run away from him, “The Fired Employee” who returns to his workplace to kill also has more than one false identity driving those shooters’ actions.
What other fictional characters are stored in the mind parts of the brain and are driving the bogus you must defend yourself thoughts and words and actions?
“The Money Person.”
“The Rent Payer” or “Homeowner.”
“The Successful Neighbor.”
“Super Husband” or “Super Employee.”
and
A host of other egotism based ego-states.
Maharaj: “Be simple, be humble.”
and
Maharaj: “. . . Personality is only an obstacle.”
Why should an earnest seeker spend a few hours reading about “ego-defense mechanisms? Because the false personality identifications which non-duality invites all to discard are defended by those mechanisms. Egotism is always at play with false identities. It is why all people assuming any ego-state as an identity will soon upgrade their status.
“The Spouse” will soon self-promote that identity to “The Super Spouse.” “The Spiritual One” will soon self-upgrade that role to “The Spiritual Giant.”
In the early days of a marriage, playing the role of “The Spouse” is enough. But once a partner upgrades himself or herself to “The Super Spouse,” what is required for that “Super Spouse” ego-state to be validated? A “Super Spouse.” Mark that date on the calendar as the date that the marriage swerved hard right and took the fork in the relationship road which leads to divorce or murder.
So what are some of the commonly-used defense mechanisms of the ego?
Denial.
Projection.
Egotism.
Rationalization.
Sublimation.
Dissociation.
Distortion.
And many more.
