As for evidence of humankind being confused, bewildered, puzzled, baffled, and driven by startling levels of “learned ignorance, stupidity, and insanity,” ask persons to explain in one sentence what their religion or their spiritual movement or their recovery program is about. The variety of answers will show that most do not have a clue.
And the same goes for philosophies, ideologies, so-called “spiritual-based programs,” non-duality, etc.
As for non-duality, if so-called adherents or practitioners or students or “teachers” or gurus or guides of non-duality were asked to say in one sentence what non-duality is about, from my own experiences and witnessings I can say that there would probably be more diversity - and inaccuracies - in the answers given about non-duality than the total number of answers given about all of the other groups combined.
But what is it truly about, in one sentence?
For some, meditating.
For some, visiting the “holiest” shrines on the planet.
For some, finding a non-dual guru and following his orders.
For some, getting a mantra and using it.
For some, spending as much time as possible humming the “mystic” and “most sacred” Om.
For some, attending satsang sessions for the entirety of the remaining existence.
For some, leaving all things relative behind and finding my “Highest Self,” my “Infinite Self,” my “Supreme Self,” my “Spirit Self,” my “Eternal Self,” ad infinitum.
For some, finding uninterrupted peace and joy and ecstasy.
For some, becoming enlightened.
For some, being liberated.
For some, finding out how the realized live from sunrise to sunset and then following their example all day every day.
What do most never mention?
Treating the Ultimate Sickness.
Finding an effective version of the Ultimate Medicine for that purpose.
Being restored to sanity after being exposed to insane programming, conditioning, acculturation, domestication, brainwashing and indoctrination.
Non-dual guide Maharaj discussed “the great destroyer of sanity in life”
and said
“Insanity is universal. Sanity is rare. Yet there is hope, because the moment we perceive our insanity, we are on the way to sanity.”
Non-dual guide Yeshu’a (inaccurately referred to as “Jesus” by his followers) said, “A dual-minded person is unstable in all ways.”
Non-dual writer George Bernard Shaw, when asked if he believed there was life on other planets, answered: “Of course there is. They're using earth as their insane asylum.”
If one witnesses objectively the variety of explanations about what non-duality is all about, this conclusion is obvious:
Consider the evolution of all religions, of philosophies, of ideologies, of so-called “spiritual-based programs” and of non-duality - all of which have been spread more often by word-of-mouth than codified text - and it is obvious that nothing has been so distorted by the playing of “The Telephone Game” than the non-dual understanding.
Next, the codified texts now contain more distortions and contradictions and falsifications than the original word-of-mouth versions which came into existence.
So what is non-duality about? It is about understanding that every human on the planet (past, present and future) has had or has or will have the Ultimate Sickness to one degree or another;
that non-duality is about finding and using a proved-effective version of Ultimate Medicine;
that there is a need for the billions of humans on the planet to be treated for imposed, hand-me-down insanity;
and
that when insanity is treated, then insane beliefs about being “different from” and therefore “better-than” can come to an end and that false beliefs which generate egotism and fighting and broken relationships and killing and wars might also come to an end.
