Pointers from Maharaj make clear that both (2) keeping the relative existence simple rather than complicated and (b) casting aside belief in any and all personality identifications are vital.

What is the connection between the murder rate of women in the U.S. and personality identification? Everything.
It begins with this: In terms of false personal identification, a marriage ceremony above all else is rooted in - and continues to this date - a process of transferring property, a process of transferring ownership of chattel.
Chattel is an item of property other than real estate, such as . . . slaves. Among the so-called “founding fathers,” George Washington owned hundred of slaves; Thomas Jefferson owned the most slaves with hundreds of them on his properties, and his slave Sally Hemings was his concubine and mother to some of his children.
Of the 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention, 25 of them owned slaves. In fact, just seventeen of them owned over 1,400 slaves.
Human chattel changed hands between slave sellers and owners; today in the U.S., human chattel changes hands between fathers and grooms.
Consider some words from the typical marriage ceremony when the person presiding over the wedding asks: “Who gives this woman to this man?” The father answers, “I do” or “Her mother and I do.”
Really?
And typically, the bride gives up her family name and assumes the family name of the groom, allowing the groom and everyone else to hear him proclaim, “She’s mine!” That sets the stage for her to hear during an argument, “No wife of mind will ever . . . blah, blah, blah.”
That chauvinism and sexism also sets the stage for this statistic to exist: In the U.S., 59% of all women murdered annually are killed during the breakup of a relationship.”
For many women, the last words they will ever hear are, “You think you’re going to leave me? The hell you are. I’ll kill you before I allow that to happen,” [spoken by “The Super Husband” and “The Owner of The Wife”] or
“You think you’re going to take my kids away from me? The hell you are. I’ll kill you before I allow that to happen,” [spoken by “The Super Dad”] or
“You think you’re going to take the money I’ve busted my ass to earn? The hell you are. I’ll kill you before I allow that to happen,” [spoken by “The Money Man”] or
“You think you’re going to take my house away from me? The hell you are. I’ll kill you before I allow that to happen,” [spoken by “The Homeowner Persona”] etc., etc., etc.
As an example of how belief in false personality identifications can easily spiral into murdering, consider what happened when I was asked to speak to a man who was scheduled to appear on The Dr. Phil Show the next day:
The fellow had been warned about the dangers of false identity assumptions. Ignoring the cautions set the stage for a fellow named “Mark” to take his estranged wife and his daughters hostage and to shoot his wife in the back and kill her when she climbed out of the bathroom window and tried to run away.
As it turned out, one of the daughter’s trying to process the trauma of her mother having been murdered contacted Dr. Phil; he felt that facing her father might be a part of her healing process (and would get higher ratings for his television show, always a goal of Phil's);
thus, his staff contacted the owner of the treatment center where the father was living at the time and where I was hired as a “personality consultant” to work with staff and clients. Phil’s staff asked if that daughter’s father, Mark, might be willing to appear on his show and face one of his daughters. Her father reluctantly agreed.
I spoke with Mark as he was becoming increasingly nervous about an upcoming taping for the show, scheduled for the next day. In addition to the dread of facing one of his two daughters that had watched him kill her mother, he was also anxious about the fact that he would soon be leaving the treatment center and was wondering if he was going to be able to handle life any better than he had in the past.
The owner of the treatment center wanted Mark to understand the toll which being driven by the agendas of multiple personality identifications had taken in his life and the toll that it could take in the future if he did not find a way to be freed from being driven by the hidden agendas of the various ego-states he had assumed.
Mark was having second thoughts about appearing on a national television broadcast. The owner of the treatment center asked me to take Mark beyond the personal inventory work he had completed (in order to find his “good” traits and his “bad” traits - his personality defects - and discuss with him the personality identifications which were controlling him subconsciously).
At that point before Mark left the treatment center, the owner wanted him to move beyond the personal-inventory work and complete regularly a “persona-inventory” - a “self”-and-“false-selves”-inventory - in order to find the ego-states which played a part in his committing an act of murder.
The sharing of the information surrounding that meeting with Mark would have remained private and nothing being shared here would have been shared here had Mark not gone through with the taping and made his story public in a series of shows, the first of which aired on 1 February 2007 with a segment entitled “A Difficult Reunion, Part 1” (available on the internet for those who might be interested).
When I shared with Mark that it may well be enough for him to find out who he is not, a look of confusion crossed his face. I introduced him to the means by which we are assigned scores of false identities and by which we assume scores of false identities as well as the way that those determine our every thought and every word and every action.
I explained to him the insanity of accepting as real the many false identifications which can be assigned by a culture and shared how the belief in those personas will lead to insane actions when the hidden agendas of those ego-states feel - to use the terms he had been introduced to - “hurt, interfered with, or threatened.”
I tried to show him just how insane one can become when driven by the fears and desires of a mirage - of a false identity. A “husband” and “father” can turn the relative existence of a family into a nightmarish, hellish existence when a wife and children experience a man being negligent, unavailable, unreliable, and downright abusive . . . mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Mark was shown the irony of role-playing when an assumed persona will believe that he is the one being mistreated and “hurt and interfered with and threatened” though the fact is that it is his perspective that is 180-degrees opposite of the truth:
that he is the one being hurtful; that he is the one interfering with them and their peace and their sanity; and that he is the one who was behaving in a threatening manner.
I asked: “How insane is it to believe that a mirage can be ‘hurt, interfered with, or threatened’? You have much to understand, Bud.”
Mark agreed to make the trip and face the daughter who had approached Dr. Phil.
At their wedding, he had been told she was his; he took that to mean that he could do with her as he pleased.
As a counter perspective, the Cherokee Medicine Woman whom I was told as a child was “Grandmother,” explained to me that in the language of her indigenous ancestors, there were no such words as “mine” or “ownership.”
The effects of a perceived loss are exacerbated when one’s belief in the concept of “ownership” is challenged. The realized do not use possessives such as “my,” “mine,” “possess,” “possessions,” “acquire,” “control,” “retain,” etc. How could manifested energy own a house or have something called “my spouse”?
Ownership is the stuff of ego-states. The indigenous peoples of the Americas had no word for “ownership.” The land was for all to use. It was the Europeans who brought to the Americans the Aryan notion of “owning.” If you own nothing, you can lose nothing, but you must know the difference in “the false you” and “the authentic” to reach that understanding.
“Forced arranged marriages” are even more denigrating. Today, there are 130 cultures on the planet where those are still typical; those have also been commonplace in parts of the U.S. culture, past and present.
They are especially commonplace in certain clans in Africa, among Hindu people in India and the U.K., and among royal families around the globe throughout their history.
All of the above make insanity universal and make insane actions routine.
