Yesterday left off with this:
148. In a no-mind, zero-concepts, no-beliefs state, no one could come up with such thoughts as:
“Hey,
let's invade a continent across the ocean to our west and kill 150,000,000
people there in the name of Jesus Christ!”
“Hey, let's have a world war and kill six million Jews and another six million
people who are gay or mentally ill or who have different political views from
ours!”
“Hey, let's kill ourselves and a lot of other people by flying some planes into
the World Trade Center Towers!”
“Hey, let's bomb people in Iraq!”
“Hey, let's bomb people in Boston!”
149. In the absence of belief in all of the concepts and ideas and notions and
dogma and spiritual principles and thoughts and perceptions and delusions and
illusions and theories and hypotheses and views that had formerly filled the
mind and made it the place where humanity's problem centers, an end will come
to the distorted thoughts that were based in the mind's collection of distorted
beliefs.
150. Then, too, all ego-state-and-egotism-based talking will end. There will be
no “one” left to assume a super-religious identity or a super-spiritual
identity. Until then, those false identities with inspire magical thinking
which inspires magical talking (that is, to use a term Maharaj used but that
was edited from the transcripts of his talks: “BS”).
Maharaj said:
151. “To love and worship a god is also ignorance. My home is beyond all
notions, however sublime.”
152. “This is our stupidity, verging on insanity.”
153. “Ignorance causes sorrow.”
154. “Realization is but the opposite of ignorance. To take the world as real
and one’s self as unreal is ignorance, the cause of sorrow.”
155. “An ignorant man is ignorant of his ignorance.”
156. “Enquire: 'WHO is ignorant?' and ignorance will dissolve like a dream.”
[As an example of how that enquiry would work, return to the Tsarnaev Brothers
who set off bombs in Boston and ask, “'WHO' was so emotionally-intoxicated by
their religious training and programming and conditioning and indoctrination
and resulting beliefs that they determined that bombing people at a marathon
was the “right” thing to do? Was it 'Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev' or was it
'The Super Muslims,' 'The Super Devout Followers of Mohammed,' 'The Superior
Islamics,' and / or 'The Devout Worshippers'?”]
Maharaj also said:
157. “There is nothing that can help the world more than your putting an end to
ignorance.”
158. “In your ignorance you make mistakes and cause pain to yourself and
others, but the urge is there and shall not be denied.”
Maharaj made clear that “sin” is merely ignorance, and eventually he would
point out that the greatest ignorance doesn’t involve knowing “who you truly
are” but involves not knowing who or what you are not.
Think you are “The Super Husband” or “The Super Wife”? Prepare for problems.
Think you are “The Super Hindu” or “The Super Jewish Person,” or “The Super
Christian” or “The Super Muslim” or “The Spiritual Giant Standing The Tallest
of All Among Spiritual Pygmies”? Prepare for trouble.
Think you are “The One Living in the Greatest Country on Earth?” Prepare for
trouble.
Relative problems are guaranteed when
(a) driven by the ignorance and stupidity and insanity of believing that
assumed identities are real and when
(b) being driven by those personalities' hidden agendas
which are a result of perverted programming and conditioning and acculturation
and domestication and indoctrination and brainwashing
and
which subconsciously control non-Realized persons' every thought and every word
and every action.
159. Maharaj eventually advised seekers to ignore the content of the book “I AM THAT” and to focus on the pointers in his later talks. In the end, his the invitation was . . .
(a) to abandon the magical thinking that manifests as a result of programming and conditioning (including religious and spiritual based magical thinking) and just abide naturally;
(b) to abandon the unNATURAL style of living that results from religious training and programming and conditioning;
(c) to abandon the supposedly “superNATURAL” style of living that results from spiritual training and programming and conditioning;
and then
(d) to abide in the same nisargan (NATURAL) fashion that every living thing on the planet abides in . . . with the exception of programmed, conditioned, acculturated, domesticated, brainwashed, and indoctrinated humans.
