CAUSATION and RELATIVE EVENTS AND BEHAVIORS:
“Evil?” or “Ignorance, Stupidity, and Insanity”?
A REVIEW
OF THE KEY POINTERS REGARDING THE DUALISTIC BELIEF IN “GOOD” VS. “EVIL”

208. Who do the masses turn to in an effort to find “the
answer” . . . “the cure” . . . “the
solution”?
209. Some turn to the ones that Maharaj called “Big Name Teachers,” those who
are popular because they are blending dualistic concepts into their writings to
create popular appeal.
210. Some turn to an internationally-operating spiritual program that is run by
non-professionals who have no training whatsoever at addressing its
membership's severe mental and emotional issues but who claim instead that “being
spiritual” cures both mental and physical illness.
211. Also, most stay with whatever organized religion their parents chose for
them, yet with over 5,000 years to address global insanity and destructive
behaviors, no changes have been brought about at all by organized religions or
religious sky cults.
212. None of those have led to any kind of long-term or permanent shift.
213. Can governmental leaders - all of whom are suffering from the Ultimate
Sickness themselves - bring about a change? Hardly.
[More often than not, religious organizations, spiritual
movements, political movements and rich business people donating to their preferred
candidates (that is, to pro-business, anti-regulation, laissez-faire politicians)
have historically generated a spreading of the Ultimate Sickness rather than
a reduction of the number of cases of that Sickness.]
214. The answer: in some cases, what has “worked” is finding a teacher who can
(a) free one of the beliefs that some external locus of power can come to the
rescue;
who can (b) free one from abiding under the auspices of a
mind's beliefs and delusions and distortions and identification with multiple
personalities; and then who can (c) “reconnect” seekers with the inner resource
or inner guru.
215. Bill W. (the man who pointed out that “the main problem centers in the
mind”) wrote in the back of the book the final word offered after all of the
earlier pointers about spirituality, a final word that seemed to contradict all
of his earlier pointers.
(It did. Why? He had been forced to abandon the original
plan to treat the mental and emotional roots of addiction and had been forced
to go with the prevailing belief at the time that addiction is a “moral issue”
and that people must undergo a “moral inventory” and become “moral” and become “good
persons” if they are to be healed.)
216. In the end, he made clear that the problem rests in “personality” and that
there is no external locus of power that is going to come to the rescue when he
wrote:
217. “ . . . the personality change (my bold and italics) sufficient to
overcome alcoholism has manifested itself among us in many different forms”
and
218. “With few exceptions our members find that they have tapped an unsuspected
inner resource (bold and italics mine) which they presently identify with their
own conception of a Power greater than themselves” (a line that has been
removed from many later editions of the book)
and
219. Only “our more religious members” refer to the “awareness of a Power
greater than ourselves” as “God-consciousness.” (So much for “we are spiritual,
not religious.”)
220. Note: The phrase “spiritual awakening” did not occur in the first printing
of the first edition. As happened with “The Holy Bible” in the mid-350's A.D.,
some persons have taken it upon themselves to remove some lines from Bill W.'s
book and to add some other phrases or lines to support their continuing
contention that the problem with addicts - and, really, with all “bad' persons
- is a moral issue that requires a spiritual solution.
221. Some pointers offered by Bill W. are being shared here
because he studied the Eastern teachings and because several pointers which he
offered are relevant to the topic under discussion.
222. He said that “the main problem centers in the mind.” That does not apply
to one particular group of persons. It applies to all among the non-Realized
masses.
223. He said that, once the people and the happenings on this planet were
looked at objectively, then “the first thing apparent was that this world and
its people were often quite wrong.”
224. He stated clearly (though most refuse to admit it) that there is no
external locus of Power (a.k.a., “a god” or “gods and goddesses”) that can save
or heal anyone or anything and that . . .
“with few exceptions our members find that they have tapped an unsuspected inner resource which they presently identify with their own conception of a Power greater than themselves.”
(Thus, the so-called “Higher Power” is not an outer resource
but is an inner resource, a.k.a., the “inner guru.”)
225. That fact goes to the heart of this discussion for these reasons:
(A) because there is no truth to any dualistic concepts and pairings, there can
be an inner resource but there can be no external locus of Power; and
(B) because there is no such duality as an external locus of Power which is a “force
for good” that is battling against “the forces of evil,” there can be nothing
that is caused by “evil.”
226. What persons take to be the result of “evil influences” is all actually
the result of “ignorance, stupidity, and insanity.” Either persons are (a) in
touch with the guiding inner guru that is the seat of wisdom and sanity or (b)
they are being driven by the hidden agendas of their assumed or assigned
personas and the totally-corrupt content of their “minds.”
227. Only a persona can sense perceived (but totally imaginary) hurts or
threats or interference which, in turn, inspires emotional intoxication which
is always followed by ignorant and stupid and insane thoughts and words and
actions.
228. Compare the Boston bombers and an angry spouse. When upset and arguing,
the typical angry spouse believes 100% that he or she has been irritated or
angered by his / her spouse. The fact is, though, that the seeds of anger and
restlessness and irritability and discontentment were planted long ago and are
merely being triggered now.
229. The cause of anger or irritation cannot accurately be assigned to a single
cause or causer (or spouse) that one might be in the presence of at any given
moment of anger or irritability.
The causes of deep-seated anger and an on-going sense of
irritability are a result of all that has happened since the manifestation
began and a result of all of the faulty and bizarre programming and conditioning
and domestication and acculturation and brainwashing and indoctrination that a
person has been exposed to for years.
230. And the resulting nonsense planted in the mind of each bomber drove their
thoughts and beliefs which, in turn, drove their words, which, in turn, drove
their actions. It's always like this:
thoughts → words → actions is always the continuum along which all happenings happen. Thoughts come first and determine what words are spoken. Spoken words then drive actions.
No conscious choice or decision is ever involved. The subconscious agendas of personality identifications drive it all with ignorance and / or insanity providing the fuel.
231. What the bombers did was not a result of “evil at play”; what they did was
a result of ignorance and stupidity and insanity at play, all rooted in their
faulty and bizarre programming, conditioning, etc.
So the source of the bombers' irritability and anger and
hatred was not rooted in a single cause - though that was their claim - but was
rooted instead in a long chain of causation.
232. Among the links in that chain was the insanity of their not knowing who
(or more accurately “what”) they are. The result was a multiplicity of assumed
personalities and the resultant personality disorders that always accompany
every assumed personality.
233. In the case of the bombers, neither could assume the role of “The Noble,
Faithful Avenger” without having first assumed the role of “The Muslim” (which
was eventually self-ungraded to “The Super Muslim”).
234. Once an ego-state is assumed as an identity, then egotism will be triggered in order to
support and maintain that false identity; egotism will then set the stage for
an ego-state to feel constantly hurt or constantly interfered with or
constantly threatened.
It is the false but perceived sense of being hurt or
interfered or threatened that drives an ego-state to behave ignorantly and
stupidly and insanely, trying to defend a mirage at all costs.
235. Not the result of “evil”? No, not the result of “evil.”
