BEING MADE CRAZY, CRAZY, STAYING CRAZY or AWARE OF CRAZINESS AND SEEKING SANITY

If you were suffering from a sickness,
would you accept treatment from a doctor that does not (1) complete a diagnosis
and (2) identify cause prior to formulating a treatment plan?
Of course not, so why tolerate having the
Ultimate Sickness treated by a guide that does not identify cause prior to
formulating a treatment plan?
A narcissistic know-it-all showed up in
Maharaj’s loft and started spouting the same-old
same-old to try to impress his captive audience with the supposedly
“profound” depth and breadth of his knowledge of all things non-dual.
Eventually, Maharaj stopped the man’s monologue
and explained that he did not give a tinker’s damn about the man parroting
gurus or guides or writers; instead, Maharaj said that he only wants to hear
about a seeker’s own experiences and from one who shares only what he or she has
come to perceive and understand.
In the next series, we will begin with
finding the actual cause of the Sickness which only a non-dual guides try to
address and then formulate a treatment plan which will differ entirely from the plans which have failed humankind for
thousands of years.
As with Covid-19, researchers and
manufacturers of treatment and / or preventive measures were and are constantly
having to change their treatment plans because of mutations. The same applies
with humankind: the problems of humans - be they physical or psychological -
require treatment from a guide that is constantly studying the innumerable mutations
of the Sickness in order to update and modify and improve the version of the
Ultimate Medicine being used to address all aspects of the Ultimate Sickness.
All prescribed prescriptions stored in
your medicine cabinet have an expiration date. So should the Ultimate Medicine
used for addressing the Ultimate Sickness.
Genes mutate. The result is physical /
body problems. Understandings also mutate. The result is mental / mind
problems.
The Effects of Mutations And Variants - in Humankind, in the Non-Dual Message, in Religious Texts, in Spiritual Messaging, in Forms of Government, in Economic Systems, in Tribalism, in the Human Brain, in sicknesses and the Ultimate Sickness, ad infinitum. Everything is Mutated; hence, the Normal or Natural Has Been Replaced by the Abnormal, by the Unnatural, by the Supernatural by Magical and Warped Thinking, by Language, and by the Resulting Warped, Detrimental Behavior.]

The 180-Degree Rule (continued)
With the Nisarga Yoga, as with the summative statement of non-duality (“I AM THAT; I AM”), the “not-two-ness” of the noumenal / phenomenal must be recognized alongside the fact that (post-realization) Reality can be overlaid on reality. That is, the Absolute understanding can be overlaid on the relative existence to allow for the natural abidance to happen even as the sense of ‘I’ continues;
even
as it is understood that the sense has a source from which it flows and to
which it returns; even as the self’s own being has been penetrated; and even as
the remainder of the relative is allowed to happen spontaneously and not as
being this or that but allowed to happen as timeless being only.
Thus, the example often cited here (using the deer’s all-natural manner of
abidance as an illustration) reveals the manner in which the seeker that realizes
will also abide for the remainder of the manifestation:
specifically,
the nisarga understanding that comes by way of understanding THAT (which is
Absolute and beyond the relative) nevertheless allows for the remainder of “this”
(this relative existence) to unfold in a totally natural manner as well. One’s
original, no-identity, non-dual, no-concept nature is adumbrated and reflected
throughout the manifestation as natural-living-only takes place, marked only by
one’s original and innate and natural disposition.
The present discussion regarding touching appropriately and expressing both
Love and love has shown that both are “totally nisarga” and that the avoidance
of both is most unnatural.
So the 180-Degree Rule can now be applied to some of the comments cited
previously to see if they are sane and normal and natural or to see if the
180-degree opposite would be closer to what is sane and normal and natural:
BELIEF: [From a former spouse after being pulled aside and after having placed
an arm around her mother’s shoulder and hugging her gently as a way of offering
a totally appropriate greeting after knowing her for some time]: “Don’t ever
touch mom. Our family does not hug, we don’t cry, we don’t show feelings, so
don’t take any of this personally. It’s just a cultural thing . . . just the
way we Germans are.”
180-DEGREE OPPOSITE: The results of research offered earlier in this book show
that appropriate touching and expressing Love / love are the norm among humans
and animals as well. What is actually abnormal, insane, and unnatural is for me
to suggest to my spouse that something is wrong with his habit of hugging and
showing affection and expressing Love.
In fact, what is abnormal, insane, and unnatural is for me to normalize the abnormal and to say, ‘Don’t ever touch mom. Our family does not hug, we don’t cry, we don’t show feelings, so don’t take any of this personally. It’s just a cultural thing . . . just the way we Germans are.’
After considering the 180-degree opposite of our beliefs and the impact of the programming, conditioning, domestication, and acculturation that have been used in our family for generations and in our country of origin for much longer, I see now that there are some issues that need to be addressed if I am to break our family’s (and our culture’s) chain of raising child in a way that guarantees they will be - both as children and as adults - people who are cold and uncaring and rigid and distant and excessively formal and remote and detached and aloof.
My
abnormal beliefs about appropriate touching and expressing Love must change if
I am to interrupt, at least in our case, the pattern of raising children in
ways that leave them especially love-starved and abnormal.”
IDEA: [From a teenager]: “My mother never hugs me and never says she loves me.
I guess I know she cares, but I don’t understand why she’s only willing to show
it by preparing my meals or driving me to the places I have to go. A hug every
now and then would be nice.
Hearing
‘I love you” would be nice. Only recently have I been willing to admit that
something is wrong with our family - with our whole society here, in fact - and
the coldness that I never thought about before I am now seeing as being very
abnormal. Something is truly wrong here.”
180-DEGREE OPPOSITE: I will consider that I am wrong to want my mother to hug
me occasionally and to tell me regularly that she loves me. Okay . . . after
careful consideration, and after studying the research, I am not wrong.
The research reveals that children who are not touched appropriately, and on a regular basis, will be “less psychologically stable”; will suffer from a much greater level of insecurity; and will experience far more negative emotions throughout their lives.
Maybe
I cannot change my mom, but I can see the legacy that parents in our culture
are passing down, and I am not impressed. I am going to be vigilant about
seeking whatever is required for me to be free of the bondage of the miserable
existence that comes when children are raised by cold and uncaring and rigid
and distant and excessively formal and remote parents and thereby led to also
be cold and uncaring and rigid and distant and excessively formal and remote
and detached and aloof as the result of growing up in a family and in a culture
that avoids touching appropriately and expressing Love appropriately and that
models the suppression of feelings.
BELIEF: [From that same teen’s single mother]: “I am really ready for a
relationship with a man. I want to be loved . . . I want to be touched . . . to be
held . . . to feel a man’s arms around me.”
180-DEGREE OPPOSITE which could lead that woman to say:
After having seen that research proves that my wanting to be loved and touched and held and to feel a man’s arms around me is sane and normal and natural, I stand by that; however, what I also see now is that I have been very selfish with my child, wanting to receive what I refuse to give while my child also wants to receive those same things that I want.
I now see that I have been so self-absorbed, so self-centered, so selfish, so egocentric, so narcissistic, so self-indulgent, so self-interested, and so self-serving that I have totally failed to provide for my child that which any sane and normal and natural mother would have provided.
I might even need for a professional to see if my family and culture might have set me up to suffer from the Borderline Personality Disorder or from some other disorders that are blocking me from behaving in a sane and normal and natural manner.
I see that my
culture and its acculturation processes (along with my family of origin’s
perverted domestication, programming and conditioning) have joined to deprive
me of the ability to feel and to share that which it is sane and normal and
natural to feel and to share. A change needs to come.”
