WHY MAHARAJ ABANDONED RELIGIOUS AND SPIRITUAL VERSIONS OF THE ULTIMATE MEDICINE AND TURNED HIS FOCUS TO PSYCHOLOGICAL HEALING INSTEAD
EGO-DEFENSE MECHANISMS WHICH INSPIRE PREVARICATION
Psychologists for years have recognized the existence of what they call
“ego-defense mechanisms”: behaviors which humans use in order to preserve and
to protect the ego (that is, the false self / selves adopted as actual
identities). The mechanisms are almost always either fear-based or
desire-based.
The words that those mechanisms inspire as a result of the desire to protect
and sustain persons' false images (or assumed egos or ego-states or roles or
characters being played) must also be false words because they are based in an
effort to affirm that which is false, nothing more than lies told to sustain
lies . . . o sustain something that is itself false.
Those include:
6. Psychological Projection (defined as "unconsciously ascribing to others
one’s own ideas, impulses, or emotions; finding and pointing out in others the
faults that persons most hate in themselves").
[An example: A woman (who has internalized a Personality Type Eight Controller
/ Boss which drives her to display extreme anger and even sociopathic behavior
at times) raged about her Personality Type Nine husband, hating him because, in
her words,
"He is a Type Nine so he is a spineless doormat who will not help me
control our out-of-control son, who is also a Type Eight who is breaking laws,
causing car wrecks while driving under the influence, and being arrested
repeatedly."
Yet she allowed partners at work to take funds that should be hers, accepted the
fact that they are not honoring agreements that were entered into when they began
their partnership, and tolerated their charging her more for office space than
the amount originally agreed to.
Now, she hates her husband because he is displaying in the home the same traits
with her and the son that she is exhibiting in the workplace.]
In the book linked, A DIFFERENT
PERSPECTIVE, this is shared:
"Some try to pigeonhole these teachings and claim that Advaita (or Vedanta
or Advaita Vedanta) is a religion; some claim it is a philosophy; some claim it
is a compilation of precepts and principles by which people should live. Here,
the most that is said is that
a. it is a set of suggestions and considerations that point the way to the truth
which can be known but not stated; and
b. it is a set of guideposts along a "path" (offered by one that has
traveled that "path") which leads - in a step-wise, clear-cut manner
- to an understanding which allows the remainder of the relative existence to
unfold in a sound and sane and logical and steady manner."
Maharaj’s revised “game plan” which is the game plan here is that seekers need
not find “the Self” but should focus on finding what one is not . . . should
find all of the false selves which have
been assumed as identities and which are blocking the seeing of truth.
Similarly, as noted above, "suggestions and considerations that point the
way to the truth that can be known but not stated" might be offered, but
if seekers are ever to see the Truth that is being pointed to, then they most
first see
A. that which is reinforcing their belief in falsehoods,
B. that which is driving them to participate in the dissemination of
falsehoods, and
C. that which is blocking the ability to differentiate the true from the false.
“The
realized” understand that few problems exist on the planet which are not rooted
in the "mind" (which is nothing more than the storehouse of fiction,
false beliefs, bogus concepts, myth-and-superstition-based dogma, nonsensical
ideas, distortions, delusions, falsehoods, and illusions, all of which can be
summarized as “beliefs.”)
Along "the parent continuum" - which can run from
"well-meaning-but-ignorant" to "borderline" to
"totally psychotic" - John Locke's "Blank Tablets" are
being trashed with programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, indoctrination,
brainwashing, dogma, spiritual mumbo-jumbo, magical thinking, and a host of
personality disorders.
The personality disorders then use their "toolkit" of warped
personality traits and reasoning fallacies and ego-defense mechanisms to
support the monologues and dialogues and diatribes that are delivered around
the globe nowadays by actors / performers / role-players on the stage of
"The Theater of the Lie" that this planet has become.
The realized are first able to differentiate true from false in the relative
existence, are later able to know truth, and then eventually come to understand
the functioning of the totality.
Some realized might share pointers, and if they do so, they can guide the
seekers in whom the readiness has manifested . . .
to see that the masses cannot differentiate the true from the false,
to see that it is possible to neutralize the effects of a distorting or an
insane upbringing and become able to differentiate the true from the false in
the relative existence,
to see how the totality functions, and
and, eventually, to see truth.
Earlier, it was noted that prevarication and distortion have become commonplace
on the planet because whatever the masses say or teach is always rooted in the
hidden agenda of personality (and, therefore, personality defects).
Next,
it was noted that:
