No one will Realize by reading these posting in the order in which they are posted. The pointers offered to seekers are determined by where on the "path" their questions reveal them to be. The difference in Advaitin talks and in satsang sessions and in concepts discussed in popular books and in seminars in large venues and in the postings here and elsewhere is this: after almost every posting here, several methods are offered by which seekers can arrange to be guided through the exact steps in their exact order. No other means to Realization can happen.
Yet that step work seldom happens, not unlike the case with groups that offer steps to one thing or the other. In those groups, people sit around talking about the topic-du-jour, but few are guiding others through the steps so few are working the steps. Far easier to talk about how insane they were, ignoring how insane they still are.
The same with Advaita: show up insane, talk about insanity, and talk about wanting to be enlightened or Realized or talk (falsely) about having become enlightened or Realized; however, if the exact steps are not undertaken with guidance, then the insanity will remain and Realization will remain out of reach.
The point: if you are Realized and someone tells you they are seeking the understanding that has come to you, tell them that they can make arrangements with you to meet one-on-one so you can guide them along the only exact, step-wise manner to Realization that is available.
No propensity for teaching? Then direct them to someone else that will guide them along the only exact, step-wise manner to Realization that is available. Or tell them to keep seeking on their own as you did until they find...or not.
What is to be avoided, unless you would block them from finding that which they seek, are three specific actions mentioned yesterday that were blocking "floyd" in the search:
1. "messing around with a little piece here and a snippet there";
2. focusing on the words and writings of the big name teachers and authors who are offering Maharaj Lite (or Non-Duality Lite) in a popular, marketable fashion that has mass appeal among the unenlightened and ignorant who believe that the popular writers are making them enlightened and intelligent; and
3. offering a "helter-skelter shotgun blast of pellets of advice that will fill the one, proper plan with so many holes that the seeker will most assuredly be guaranteed to fall through them along the way."
In addition to the hazard of "Seeking a Body of Knowledge" and the hazard of focusing on "Popular Messages that Only the Non-Realized Masses Acclaim and Buy Into" is the hazard of "Being So Blocked That Persons Cannot See the Truth When It Is Before Their Very Eyes."
Yesterday, this was set forth: "So what role did the teachings of Maharaj play along that long and winding road?" It was as if Maharaj took each step on the "path," wrote each step on the back of a piece of the puzzle, tossed those seven pieces into a pile of a thousand other pieces, shuffled all of the pieces, and then said,
"Here is the puzzle which you seek to solve. Put the thousand-piece puzzle together and you will have 'The Big Picture.' Then try to find in that collection the seven specific pieces that will reveal the steps that you must take along the exact 'path' that leads to the understanding of 'The Big Picture' which you seek."
So after multiple readings of I AM THAT failed to reveal the exact steps in the exact order in which they must be taken, there came once again that same old sense of frustration - "anticipation" followed again by a sense of defeat and disappointment - once again feeling as if the answer had been in reach but had then eluded my grasp.
It was also asked yesterday, "What was the key that finally catapulted 'floyd' beyond the final hurdle?" The answer: "The Vision." There is within all that are not genetically-impaired an intimation of immortality, an understanding of what cycles and what does not, of what is continuous and what is not, of what comes and what goes, of what was "before" and what remains "afterwards."
That intimation which can lead to The Understanding but more often sets persons up to buy into the programming and conditioning that perpetuates the core belief that is at the root of all organized religion:
"Body-mind-personality continuity is not just a real possibility - it is a guarantee...an Almighty promise...a faith-based belief that is never to be questioned."
Warping that intimation of immortality by overlaying upon it all sorts of relative concepts (rather than cloaking it in the understanding of the functioning of the totality) will block Realization...will block the Realization of Truth and will trap persons in the learned ignorance that has become the darkness that is enveloping all persons on the planet, save the handful that Realized.
Louise recently brought up a pointer offered at some point along the way that had been totally forgotten, but that is relevant here:
“Try not to see with eyes that have only looked at things through a mask of darkness the things that can only be seen in the unmasked light.”
Here, the seeing came not through use of the two physical eyes but via the "third eye," if you will, via "The Vision" referenced above. Maharaj tossed out all the pieces of the puzzle for consideration.
Then, "The Vision" looked at the picture that his sharings had painted, removed the mask of darkness, afforded the opportunity to look beyond the thousand pieces that involved talking about the "path," extracted from all of that the seven pieces with the seven steps, arranged them in the exact order, and revealed "the entire path out" and "the entire path in."
The functioning of the totality became clear. The intimation of immortality was finally understood as the no-body, no-mind, no-personality, beginningless and endless Reality that it actually is. Then, seen in the unmasked light, these pointers were understood in a flash and provided an understanding of...

Maharaj: “Follow the same path by which you came.”
Dennis Waite: “It is the perennial problem of the teacher to be able to judge where the student currently is in his or her understanding and lead them onwards from there.”
Dennis Waite: “All levels of identification must be transcended and this should be done in a controlled and stepwise manner that has been validated through millennia of teaching. Attractive though it might seem, it is not possible to jump straight to the end.” [Bold added]
Not "keep moving ahead - always progress and you will find what you seek"? No. Not "follow whatever path the big name people are touting"? No. Not "follow the path dreamed up anew that is totally unlike the actual path by which you came"? No.
Not "figure out where you are on the path and where you need to go with your next step, though you really have no clue at all about the path or the steps"? No. Not "you do not need to travel the path in a controlled and stepwise manner; instead, take control of your 'journey' yourself and follow your own path in whatever order you like"? No.
